Greg Cosell is one of my favorite analysts in the game. He knows his stuff. And he doesn't throw around superlatives, as he was speaking about regarding "generational".
Penix excels in 2 areas NFL coaches want/love (low sack rate % and down the field accuracy) and both phenomenal.
Penix is so damn good. Injuries have tanked his stock but someone is going to get very lucky getting this guy.
Deadly accurate, strong arm, much faster than people think.
Raiders at 13. Then get RT in round 2. CB round 3. RB in 4. Boom.
I buy whatever Greg cosell says, always first class breakdowns
you mean generational doesnt mean this years guy?
Thanks Greg for saying that. Every year a QB is labeled a generational type player. This is definitely not the case
michael penix jr. is the best quarterback in this draft
Left-handers have to buck the bias
6'3'' and 215# gotta like him, built solid and doesn't wear a dress.
So much potential just needs to stay healthy
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
@@deepcosmiclove aww u gonna cry manbaby?
Penix had an incredible two-year run at Washington, but what he did at Indiana before his second ACL tear was just as impressive. He threw for 491 yards and 5 TDs against Ohio State when they were in a one score game in the 4th. He lit up Michigan and Michigan State for more than 300 yards each. He beat Penn State. 5-1 at Indiana in 2020. If not for the injuries, he would have been in the NFL for already. I just hope his body holds up.
dayummmmm my bad penix i wasn't familiar with yo game
Penix needs Jordan Love treatment. Go sit behind a veteran, with an elite QB coach.
Falcons perfect spot wow
He’s slept on a lot. Which ever team gets him is a big steal.
“I think we have to be careful about making these bold, definitive statements,”
Thank god no one has done that at all leading up to this draft
*looks around*
Good Common sense here! I am not an expert, but I think that Penix is the most pro ready QB that the Huskies have ever had. If he gets into the right situation (Great O line, receivers and RBs) he could be the most successful of all of the 2024 drafted QB's. Injuries happen to all QBs and i don't think that he is an elevated risk with that. And, the lower in the first round that a QB is taken, the better the situation that he walks into, usually. So, with no insult to the others of this QB rich draft, I am very bullish on Penix's future.
Hope he goes somewhere with a decent offensive line, his initial success and long term durability will depend on it.
so no answer? interesting...
Right hand at 1:57?
Here, take my strong hand!
Luck was the last generational talent. Indy ruined him by refusing to get O-Line help...
big hands at 10 3/8 help.
This is the guy to listen to. Love him. He watches all the tape. NFL Films...
Rams are trading down to grab him, if this is true, looks like the Rams are having starting tryouts, Matt might be done,
I think he is an interesting prospect. Lefty with a tight spiral
I’m so sick of the term generational talent. In my opinion, it’s a marketing ploy put on by the NFL to keep the audience engaged year around. QUESTION: who do you guys think has the right to bare the term “generational talent”? It doesn’t have to be a QB either.
It all depends on what team Penix ends up on, If he has 2 good WRs to throw to and solid tackles a Good TE, and above average RB he will flourish. The Vikings come to mind 1st, New England last.
It’s amazing to me how anyone’s draft stock can rise or fall at this point post combine. There’s no football being played and no metrics to get
The reason is because people have time to look at film on the player, talk to people around him to judge his character and research injury history. All those things determine draft stock
I feel sorry for any team drafting penix.
Penix is so overrated
Most draftniks are and have been 100% wrong (especially on Penix) with their copy & paste lame takes, and are WAY TOO LATE when it comes to QB prospects and the NFL Draft...
As a big time UW Husky and Raiders fan, I have seen EVERY GAME of Penix as a Husky, I said BACK IN DECEMBER when Penix' Huskies beat that LOSER BO NIX for a 3rd straight game, and the final Pac 12 Title Game win IN RAIDERS ALLEGIANT STADIUM HELLOOOO!!! It was meant to be :)
At #13 overall (or maybe small trade up) Penix is more than worthy of the pick because QB HELLOOOO! No stupid cornerbacks or maybe the 4th best Tackle to Raiders...
When you have MEH traited QB's like O'Connell & Minshew (both are BACKUP QBs PERIOD) you take the winner, Uber traited QB talent with elite arm velocity/accuracy, great presnap reads ability, tons of experience, made amazing clutch throws and 2nd chance mobile plays all 2023 season: vs. Oregon 2 times, @USC beating Caleb, in the playoffs vs Ewers' Longhorns.
Penix was a WARRIOR vs. #1 Michigan D that was overpowering every Husky olineman not named Troy Fautanu, and were literally mugging every Husky WR since the National Title refs let Michigan CBs mug and DPI all game for no flags (facts Rich Eisen), just rewatch Penix lazer TD throw to McMillan before haltime where Penix called out the DPI on Rome Odunze mid play! (plus Huskies had no run game and were down 14-0 fast thanks to that meh Husky run D).
Plus the whole stupid Penix narrative injury and age (ahem Penix is younger than Bo Nix by 7 months) Micheal hasn't had a major injury in 3 years by the time the 2024 season starts.
Big Penix Energy to the Raiders, make it so Tom Telesco and Coach AP, Micheal will be the most CJ Stroud like QB from this draft. Ready to roll with the talented Raiders skill players on offense.
No to Loser Bo and WAYYYY Overrated JJ McCarthy (ahem Zach Wilson 2.0 just watch Rich) Micheal Penix Jr to Raiders all the way!
I'm not a Raiders fan, but I think they would be a good fit for him.
Go Dawgs!
I like the hype. Don’t forget to add in the fact that Penix is hyper fast at moving through progressions. The only QB’s I’ve ever seen match his progression movement speed are Tom Brady(post draft didn’t scout him), and Andy Dalton one of the most underrated QBs of the last era.
