I was disappointed in not seeing other foods. Asia is not just East Asia (China, Japan, etc.) there's also the rest of Asia (Singapore, India, Malaysia, Philippines, etc.)

The pig doesn't have anything to do with the jellos, except that the collagen from gelatin is made from cows and pig's bones, but the packaging is for after you're done eating them all. Kids can use it as a piggy bank. Do you see the little opening on top of the pig's head?

That contaminated milk was sold to a number of food factories, which produced a lot of milk-based products, including baby formulas and the rabbit candy. But when the scandal was revealed, China have done a major damage control. So, I think the rabbit candy is safe now.

White rabbit creamy candy.
Once on an exchange program, I went to china. So their white rabbit candy was WAYY cheaper. So I bought like 2 packets. So then when I ate the candy, I used my molar to but into the sweet. Then suddenly, I tasted blood.
I used my tongue to lift / pull out the candy. And then. MY TOOTH, my ENTIRE tooth was just stuck on the candy....
Like ENTIRE tooth was just stuck on the candy...
I still like the sweet tho.

Jelly is made out of gelatin- which comes from pigs. Maybe that's why there's a pig.... its kind of ironic really, but probably just a coincidence lol
the jelly is advertised to kids so in order for kids to want the jelly, they started selling them in boxes like that. They have all sorts of animals - horses, cats, pandas, even Garfield. Plus, it doubles as a piggy bank so it's re-purposed into a piggy bank for the kids so they learn to save money while eating their favorite snack
A lot of jelly products in that part of the world is actually made up of agar. It's made from seaweed and it can make things into jelly. It comes in powdered forms as well as little sheets you melt. But I'm sure using pork byproducts is popular too because of the heavy pork consumption in the East Asian areas.

Never had the Bin Bin rice crackers from Thailand but we have something quite like that in Taiwan and China called Wang Wang rice crakers旺旺雪饼。 And it was so good.
The piggy container that contains the jellies doesn't only come in one design. I have seen those in bear, dragon and rabbit etc etc design.
