- Korone went to BitSummit in Kyoto last weekend, and she shares some of her stories from the indie gaming festival.
Also, I can't believe THAT many overseas people chatted with the god dog herself without knowing it.

I'm just glad Korone had fun and that those guys were a nice bunch. Though that one dev might've forgotten she didn't play it yet lol.
Even game devs backseat
Gotta remember though that they want as many people as possible to be able to touch the demo. Better to help them finish than kick them off for the sake of time and get an incomplete impression.
@@nai3346 Probably worse than everyone else, since they're the ones that programmed it in the first place lol
@@sileopatronus Also if they are the actual game devs, then they themselves are probably nervous as hell, since you know, you are testing something you worked really hard on for who knows how long.
@@sileopatronus also a good learning experience over all; when something doesn't click with the player, it's good to understand why
imagine if the game's dev booth which Korone attended also watch this and realize *"IT WAS HER?!"*
Or imagine at the time they thought they recognized her but diddnt want to cause a scene/be wrong but then they see this and go "OMG it WAS her"
they better change the tutorial..if a holo gamer with full finggers cannot clear it..imagine how koronesuki without fingers going to clear it
I'm pretty sure she has her mask on
darn, they would go around screaming and yelling from too much smiling.
Imagine if the game's dec booth which korone attended also watch this and realize *"IT WAS MY FUCKING BALLS?!"*
She literally had a "and then they stand and clap" moment
The only time it's not fake
Imagine showing some girl your indie game and having no idea you're in the presence of Inugami Korone 😂 Glad she had fun!
I feel like the tail and the yubi chain bracelet would have given it away but i guess not
and not letting her play lmao
*Girl sees your game*
Girl "WOWOWOWOW"
They probably didn't hear the *Nahone* when explaining about their game.
@@Delheoblanc that guy is a fellow pekora fan 🤣🤣🤣⬇️⬆️⬆️⬇️
Sasuga Koro-san! She's a true gamer!
The fact that the humans had to instruct her so much and gave her a standing ovation just for beating the tutorial tells me that sure enough she IS a talking dog IRL. Reminds me of the first time we got our cat to use the litterbox.
tf
Even when no one knows it's her, people flock to her, backseat her, and cheer for her. The streamer aura is real.
I had missed the last story story live and it sounds like exactly something out of an anime lmao I love it. I'm so glad she had fun hanging out with other game devs and hopefully she got to practice some English too!
Kinda funny how she's so charismatic enough to talk to all these people but she never called out for Yuzo Koshiro
all those lucky ppl had no idea they were in the presence of Doggo greatness
I wonder if any of the game devs she described are also Koronesukis and are now realizing that they were presenting to the one and only Doog.
And are now lamenting the fact that they missed the chance to get their yubis bitten off IRL 😢
I wonder if any of the game devs she described are also my fucking BALLS and are now realizing that they were presenting to the one and only my fucking BALLS
the dev playing his own game is pretty funny
No better time to playtest.
There was so much backseat-gaming in that story, I was waiting for the traffic light to go red and fists start flying.
If indie devs keep hogging their own game at the conventions, I guess they have put a lot of love into it.
That's probably part of it, but also, having worked at a game company for a long time (publisher rather than developer, but still) and having presented games at E3 and AnimeExpo before, I can say that there's kind of a rule of thumb for game conventions that if your game's not attracting much of a crowd, you should play it yourself in order to lure people in -- better passers-by see the game being played than just see a bored-looking dude standing next to a title screen, after all. ;)
The trick is to play while also being cognizant of the crowd -- if somebody comes by and seems interested, offer them the controller, even if you're right in the middle of the best part of the stage or something.
The real sign that the creator probably put a lot of love into this game is that he got so engrossed in it, he didn't notice the line forming behind him. Heheh.
@@Wyrdwad The whole point of attract mode in old arcade games was to show people passing by what the game looks like even when nobody is playing. Having something like that is _really_ useful if you expect people to show up in person to look at games.
Though if there actually is someone lining up to play the game, the dev should really just let the player play without intervening. While the dev might know all about how to play the game and thus might be tempted to backseat new players who don't, watching a new player fail is a great source of data for what parts of your tutorial you should improve and which game mechanics aren't as intuitive as you thought to ensure that players won't fail during the actual release. Playing for the player just denies you that data while making them feel like they're bad at the game, which is likely to lose you a customer when you could've improved your game and made them feel invested in the game by letting them know that their playthrough helped improve it.
@@Colopty That's valuable data for development, but at a game show, you really need to guide the player, as they're getting a bite-sized experience -- they're not sitting down to play your game "for real," they're playing it for maybe 10 minutes, and it's going to be one of maybe 50 games they'll be playing that day. Nobody's going to sit around to read a tutorial and really dig deep into a game's inner workings during a game show; they're there to see as many games as they can in as short a time as possible and get a vertical slice of the experience of those games, not sit down and study them.
@@Wyrdwad If the players who sit down to play the game "for real" are expected to go for a 10 minute period without having fun after starting the game, you probably have a lot of things to fix. Definitely not game show ready.
Glad she had fun at the convention! Kind of funny that all the devs had no idea who she was. Little did they know they were in the presence of Holoive's #1 Gaming Dog.
I'll bet she was surprised to see so many overseas devs.
The standing ovation xD
I wonder what games she's playing
Love how the game dev also playing his own game lol. Reminds me of Halo and C&C games back then where the game devs are playing LAN party, having fun playing their own games
I’m sure that meeting Koro-San in real life would be an absolute treat!
So wholesome
Imagine being an indie game dev taking a trip to Japan to showcase your game and unknowingly to you, the legendary Inugami Korone is trying out your game and playing it terribly 😂. I wonder if she accidentally let out any signature Korone noises
Imagine people who heard it be like, "Oh, you're a Korone fan too? That's cool!" and she'll be like, "Uhhh...yeah...cool."
Imagine being an indie game dev taking a trip to japan to showcase your game and unknowingly to you, the legendary my fucking BALLS is trying out your game and playing it terribly 😂. I wonder if she accidentally let out of any signature my fucking BALLS noises
That'd be interesting to hear for a card or board game.
And regardless, I'll bet she had strong "HEY GUYS!" urges.
Thanks for translating ❤️
No wayyyy I was there too! Bitsummit is mostly foreign developers. I wonder if she played the games of any people I know or if I came across her and didn't realise 🤔
All those guys who were there are now damn hard trying to remember if they saw a girl fitting the description and voice
I love Korone's hysterical laughter she has at her own story a second before she actually says it
Thanks for the translations 🙏✨
cute doggo shows up -> wowowowowow -> "thank you come again" -> he's missing two yubis
Quick psa, indie games are cool, I suggest any gamer out there to check out more of them. Triple A games can be fun too, but there's a certain magic indie games have that you can't find anywhere else
A dev backseat gaming his own game in English to Korone is just hilarious.
I love Dons man always a great vibe and you always get a good story to tell out of them
Good thing she can attend these conventions even though she's such a known person. I figure it would be harder for Miko or Pekora.
Korone has a well known face from her nico nico days, it's not really a surprise to see her irl tbh
arent masks required for events in japan? but yeah they might get noticed from their voices
@@ogeyrat I'm sure she has a nice face. But of course it's no surprise to see her IRL, she is not confined to a dog house after all.
Conventions aren’t such a big deal, people tend to be polite by sheer peer pressure, and you’re ironically in less danger being in a crowd at all times.
Plenty of them have attended conventions, and I generally hear very positive stories when they are recognised.
i'm pretty sure there's more videos of irl korone on youtube than any other hololive member lol
BitSummit is a pretty awesome convention for what I’ve heard over the years. It’s cool that Korone-san assisted
lol, thanks for the translation, those were some fun tidbits
Indie devs are really passionate...for better or worse.
It's wholesome hearing gamedevs that are so proud of their work that they get excited playing it themselves.
Plot twist: those kaigainikkis knew and had a hive mind of being respectful and lowkey, even the devs were in it, hence the standing ovation
She's just such a lovable goof. Hahaha.
This is why it's nice to be a vtuber, you can still do things like this and not get recognized
Damn right Korone-sama gets applause. Praise her, mere mortals!
Being satisfied just by watching someone play it meant its a good game to try.
Do you think the game dev also realized that later and thought, "Wait, that girl hadn't played the game yet! Why did I play the game by my own"? hahaha
Them, after watching this: That lady was Korone?!
Happy to know that many game devs are very passionate with their own games. Also for those game devs who just realized the identity of the weird japanese girl that they were talking to in the event, please keep making good games and have a good life :)
Well, oversea devs ... your games were blessed by GOD DOOG!
The people didn't knew she was God Doggo so they were perfectly fine
there wasn't a human playing korone.
korone merely has a human disguise to greet her people.
awww wholesome
The Doog meets game dev, fun
The developer watching this clip: *SO IT WAS YOU?!*
Dev: THANK YOU COME AGAIN! hehe my turn
Korone: 😮but..
These stories sound about right for game devs that don't have any marketing experience.
undercover doggo.
unbeknownst to the audience, korone has a human disguise to converse with the average fan. and no one knows who's the human disguise!
Its nice Korone got to go to convention without worrying about doxing i hope
I'm guessing that there's a possibility that one of the games Korone was trying to play is Shotgun King and the dev played as she watched. I could be wrong though.
3:31 Just imagine if it was Todd Howard 😂
At least our doggo had fun!
have confidence . . . no confidence . . .
Aww..
So adorable.
Kurone’s adventure to BitSummit is great to hear.I laughed at the dev playing before giving to Kurone.
If only they knew there was a cute Doggo and not knowing they interacted with her
I can almost imagine Kurone playing for hours just clearing the game or goes “shibakiage punching” to those who try to stop her the devs backseating her
The game dev just playing his own game and the one who just took over the game while explaining it are such a mood w Man I hope a holomem will try out one of my games one day
And afterwards they wondered why some of their yubis were missing.
I think the game she was playing was Neon White, which uses cards, is foreign indie, and was at BitSummit (also is something she might struggle with)
Cute dog!
you can't teach an old tricks new dogs
Imagine you are the game dev in the 1st customer in your booth is a talking cavalier dog.
I would be so happy and excited if I was an indie dev and later found out the best doggo played my game at a convention.
I wouldn't be surprised. If I have to say, Korone, Miko, and Pekora are the main three that introduced me to Vtubers.
Korone had fun, that is what matters. And indie devs were graced with Doggo's presence.
I went there too in the past. There were indeed quite a bit of south east asians. They were very nice too.
Did he know he was dealing with the official Sonic Ambassador? Harumph I say!
Totally understandable.
Had a similar situation last week. Let's just say there is a big difference between using another language among friends and online and with a total stranger.
That last game Korone was talking about sounds awfully like Shotgun King. Where you play as the King with a shotgun but the rules of chess still remains.
i wonder we can be like that if we wear korosan's design tshirt (oh yeah i love this doggo anime girl too!!!
Makes me wonder if any Hololive members gonna attend the event where the Steam Deck will be showcased in Japan. Then I wonder if any of them gonna be interested in it like Fauna and Kronii are.
Korone is seriously too cute.
Everyone at that convention is trying to remember which dogs they talked to now
Hilarious
The gaming convention sounds fun. The only thing stopping me is the language barrier.
4:44 DAMN THE DUDE JUST "FORCED" A VTUBER BE A SPECTOR OF HIS OWN GAME
As a Game developer Im going to tell you right now, If you have actual experience with working with people, you NEVER EVER back seat someone when they play your game, especially during a convention showcase, because in order to accurately test data you need them to have an unbiased opinion on stuff, and there wont be a "backseat helper" to help the average player in the actual game (lest you add that as a feature) so telling them what they should do ruins that point(and low-key kind of rude). It is the first natural inclination of any game dev to tell the player there doing it wrong, but you quickly learn to hold your tongue, and most importantly, accept your faults, take notes, address errors, and re-design things if you realize players react a certain way you didn't expect.
Not a game dev but this goes for software in general. I remember in onboarding watching a ux testing session where a lady was struggling to scan her credit card because she was trying to use her front camera not realizing the app intended to use the back. Must have been very hard for the guy observing the test not to give her any hints but all of this gives useful data on how real users will interact with your product l.
not a software guy but a "creator" and I definitely understand the nerves when you see someone interacting with your baby and wanting to show off its best features
of course you're right about letting people just experience it instead of trying to jump in and curate the experience
After watching the whole clip, it's kinda obvious game devs don't know how to deal with customers, because you don't learn that while developing the game. I'm a software dev myself, and I'm pretty sure I don't know how to sell my product. So those who actually do and develop games really went out of their way to make sure the game is good.
It really depends why you are there. For most devs, a convention isn't really a chance to get playtesters, you can do that at other times. Conventions are advertising, and so the aim is to get people interested in the game and to talk about it, so sometimes you are better off leading them into having a good time ASAP than discovering a bug or design problem.
Well probably the devs weren't backseating much, and moreso telling her what to do etc.
Went to several indie game conferences, and sometimes the overload of new information causes me to brainfart. Usually the devs helped by giving quick tips and heads up.
Plus demos tend to be a vertical slice of all the available mechanics instead of you starting from the tutorial.
Plot twist: the devs love dark souls
I wonder how Korone would react if a dev didn't act differently or anything, and just slipped her a folded piece of paper on her way out, and when she opened it, it had a sketch of one of her logos or a Koronesuki or something. Like, they recognized her, but didn't react outside of that to let her know.
“God-Pog-Had-Fun-Pog”
Imagine there's a huge line for a game and Korone, being Japanese, just gets in line without knowing what it is assuming if this many people are waiting it must be great, right? And then when she finally gets to the front and sits down to play... it's HoloCure. "Ah...."
**she picks Okayu**
Has Korone mentioned traveling to St. Louis? I live in Stl and I could swear I heard someone who sounded exactly like Korone at work a few weeks back.
Undercover doog
Ah Korone's introverted nature came out at the end. For the record no, that dev wasn't thinking that he most likely was glad to meet Korone and that she was trying out his game.
I wonder what the card game and chess like game were?
Supporting Indie games? Sasuga Korone. Dog with a mission, out in the field.
"Secret dog"
And this kids is why you are nice to everyone you meet... You never know when It could be a Baker's guard Doggo in disguise who'll beat you up with her 6 pack and size 10 fingers if you're mean.. :P
Damn lucky devs got blessed by the one and only DOOG
Some people had chance to meet Korone on that event. Daaaamn😱
*cue pizzicato strings"
_there is one Korone Among Us_
_also, turtle is human_
It's almost like she's a person that goes to things irl unrelated to her Hololive job.
bitto sumitto!
I'm seriously considering going to conventions on Japan to find myself a waifu
Imagine being a koronesuki, going to a indie game convention, talking to a random girl about a game you like and then watching this clip.
I would imagine a good amount of people know what she looks like irl but they want to keep it secret just to be polite.
I was so confused the entire video thinking wait These people got to meet Korone irl? Then I read the other comments saying she went undercover basically. When the video started I was thinking maybe she had a rig like Ironmouse did at that one convention.
She took off her ears and tail and went as a normal human.
I love how she calls them overseas guys even though she is the one that was overseas in this scenario lol
yep, nothing more humiliating than a participation trophy.
She's playing a dangerous game by talking about this, but at this point I think we have all reached a common understanding of the rules of vtubing
I want to believe that the second person also forgot that they didn't let Korone play the game when they said their farewells and only realized afterwards and was like "crap, I forgot to let her try"
Korone talks a bit like Arata from Chihayafuru
