Dunno how to tell you this Korone, nobody's cancelling those limited edition orders with your handwritten autograph.

It is rather difficult to judge merch though. When you have 1.86 million people how many are going to buy somethings? 50,000? 100,000? 500,000? if you over order you are left with way way way too much stock to store and if you order too less not everyone gets something.
Which is why pre-orders are probably the best way to go instead of a launch. If you want it to be limited just have it up for a day and then make the amount sold + some extra in case of damages/exchanges/future sales.

Ah… HoloLive continues the nearly _instant_ selling out of limited signed merchandise sets. I wonders what the purchase limit on these ones was.
Thousands. One of the talents showed a picture before of a stack of cards they needed to sign. There were 3 of them.
Luckily it was one per person and if you ordered more than one they canceled your order. Wish they would have done the same for Gura's birthday merch.

@@venkaramon I think what was meant was a reference to how the other day with Mumei's birthday, people were able to buy up to 5 sets of the limited signed merch, which also sold out almost instantly. A purchase limit of 1 would give more people a hope of getting the hand signed sets when they go on sale.
I wish everything like this had a purchase limit of one, especially when it comes to anything gaming related. Doing anything else just guarantees the scalpers will make the real profit.

Korone seems to be having a lot o collabs, Sonic, Yokai-Watch, Kunio-Kun now, really cool indeed, I hope they add her to River City Ramson or some mad lad would make a Hololive Beat-em Up.
Funny thing is that even though Korone is one of the "gamer" part of hololive, the games she plays, and probably Okayu, are the outdated ones like 2000s or even 90s games. BUT they are still very much well received.

Well, at the very least I hope those went to fans and not scalpers. Mumei's handwritten birthday set sold out insanely fast as well. Maybe I'm off-base here, but I think people might be eager to get their oshi's handwritten autograph lol
Yes the issue with Mumei's merch was that people could buy 5 sets, which led to the scalpers probably taking a big chunk of it
Makes me really happy I love Hololive Indonesia more than the other branches. They're the only ones so far from what I can tell that do unlimited hand signed
@@kuroziploc hand signed in the end is a time issue, because you know the talent has to actually sign it by hand. So limits on that are very understandable.
At this point just gotta add a short little test of fan knowledge to any limited item that gets released with the item to avoid answers being learned ahead of time (I dunno, is this too crazy?)

It's good to hear that they are aware of scalpers/resellers and such. Otherwise I would've assumed that someone just bought 1000 of them. I'm happy that so many people support Korone, because she's such a gem! ^^
I'm sure their are scalpers which is where the community started to say that it's all scalpers or barely any "true" fans have a chance but in reality it's just people who have everything saved in the website or in chrome (like myself) who can order things very quickly. Hololive members severely underestimate their popularity and idk why the company makes the limited and the normal set the same since the talent probably spent a couple hours signing and straining their wrists

I wonder if we will see bigger inventories of autographed merch going forward though because of how successful they have been. At the same time, I don't expect members will want to spend a whole lot more time autographing merch than they already do.

Korone mentioned in July about goods with hand written autographs in August, so I guess Koronesukis were prepared for the battle. The surprise was that she announced this Friday singing stream+announcement on Thursday and I didn't think the goods would be sold right then and there at the announcement. 🤣 So I was out drinking with my ex-colleagues that night. Around 9:04pm JST, I happened to peek at my phone and saw her talking about goods, put on my earphones and she mentioned the limited version was sold out. I was like WHAT??! went to look at the video's description, no hololiveshop link, opened browser to go directly to hololiveshop, saw the item sold out, scrolled to geekjack link, luckily it was still on geekjack until at least 9:07pm when I completed the purchase. I think Korone's team forgot that hololiveshop ships internationally to a lot of countries now and allocated too many quantities at geekjack & too little at hololiveshop. The cancel system is a booth thing, where JP people have an option to pay within 7(?) days at a convenient store, and some ppl didn't go pay in time. The limited quantity item would be released around 10am JST the next morning. This is not applicable to hololiveshop as they don't allow this for limited quantity items.

@@sidharthkm5030 Yeah, it's pretty fast. The limited hand-signed autograph version was sold out, but the normal full set with duplicated autograph is still available for pre-order. These kind of Hololive/Nijisanji etc anniversary/bday/special collab goods are all made-to-order with 5-6 months lead time, so they're never sold out during the pre-order period. Just that Korone and her manager allocated a fixed number, say 500 to sign, since she has other things to do.

With most popular members this happens, the only case of it not happening was Aki (aka best Holomem you don't know about) and that only lasted until Aki reminded her fans. (It was also in the early days of the holostore shipping to the west)

If they sold that fast, there's probably a lot of people using some bots or script or whatever in order to instantly make purchases. The people who do that are generally scalpers. Out of curiosity I just checked ebay, and there's sales for signed Hololive cards with starting prices going for as high as $1,500. I feel sorry for all the fans who would genuinely love to have something like that, when it's getting snatched up for the scalpers.
The last time I saw merch sell out this fast was Critical Roles first shirt, hot damn.

This reminds me of an anime that had a bunch of androids, with one of them basically being able to control the trends of the general populous because of their likeability and looks. Not only merch but anytime literally any of the girls talks about a product, it gets sold out immediately.

Considering subaru found her anniversary merch being sold at some random spot in akihabara, I wouldn't be surprised if other places like that snipe as many limited edition merch copies as they can to sell at higher values themselves. (Unless that's illegal, in which case it's probably just gonna be sold on ebay or the JP equivalent thereof)

Okay. So I work at a gadget store. We had an online pre-order for the PS5. The site would only go online once pre-order begins. And it also took less than a minute to go Sold Out. People were supposed to fill up forms before submitting their order. And that happened anyway. Maybe some scalpers use bots to auto-fill their forms.
And now the PS5 is being sold here by scalpers for 150%-200% the original price, sometimes even more. Stores in malls are still out of stock until today.
