Basically, VTOL VR is an easy way to get into combat aircraft simulation. The controls are simple but not too simple to feel unrealistic or too hard to feel unlearnable. It is 100% worth the money and the helicopter DLC is also worth the money
The game looks awesome and I am considering buying it, but I just wish there was more than 3 vehicles in the base game. It's also hard to fork over and extra $12 for another single vehicle.
If you are reading this before the video... JUST BUY IT! It's the best vr game you can get out there. It's simply flight so it's not as hard as in DCS or something. So in my opinion buy it.
Definitely. When it comes to VR graphic dont matter that much in our current present. I'm sure in another 10 to 15 years the graphics standard for VR will be MUCH higher than they are now.
As I walk to work listening to The Batman soundtrack, I feel nothing but inspiration from this comment. Thank you friend, more VTOL is coming in the next couple weeks! My VR racing may tide you over for now!

Luckily I had one friend in my room as a witness, although I never did it again (granted I have 6hrs in total playtime). Am I a good pilot? NO. just lucky. I keep forgetting to close the canopy :)

First of all, thank you for the kind message, secondly, I use the quest controllers and find them great! I haven't tried centre sick configuration with the joystick in between your legs, but I hear that's better!
As a simple planes builder ( hopefully that doesn’t sound like “reddit mod”) aren’t the cockpits of the planes only as good as what you download to fly?
Definitely! And I'm sure they have come a lot since this video was released. VTOL however provides a level of quality to physics and cockpit fidelity that I believe is higher than Simple Planes. Simple Planes has huge opportunities for creating that VTOL doesn't!
Beat saber is so good, I can see why you would play it! VTOL is currently my favourite VR game, but I think I've found something else pretty cool! Video coming soon 😱
I explain VTOL VR to people with a comparison to racing. You have the bottom which is just a console game for me a sports which would be simple planes, you then have iRacing which is DCs and then you have VTOL VR the Gran Turismo it's in depth enough to make you feel good and there's a challenge but not overwhelmingly intuitive that you need to study the actual user's manual for a military aircraft😂😂
I wish I could say yes, but as a PCVR game, it needs at least a 1660 GPU and a 2600x CPU to get it to run. It's worth waiting and saving up for something more powerful, that way you won't get motion sick!
Interesting.. I do wonder how this would be compared to Ace Combat 7 or War Thunder those are also leaning more towards 'arcade' like Vr fighter games, like this Vtol VR seems to be in.. I think when it comes to fully realistic high fidelity fighter simulation, nothing out there can beat DCS - that truly is the ultimate experience when it comes down to combat flying.. The more recreative high realistic style 'normal' flying sims, like Msfs and X-plane stay in there own category by themselves.. Then there is also the unrealistic fantasy space flying sims like Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, Star Wars Squadrons and things like No man`s sky that are just not depending on real-time aerodynamics but focus more on being dogfighting games.. For what I can see now Vtol VR especially visually is the least polished compared others in it`s category, so my question would be can it outperform other titles in VR? Can I do 60 fps in VR on high settings on average systems?
Least visually polished yes, but definitely the best on building your own scenarios easily. I would disagree on the comparison to war thunder, it means much closer to DCS, and I'd consider VTOL VR to be DCS Light in VR. It's CPU heavy, what system would you like to use as a comparison? I'm happy and I'm on a Ryzen 3600 with a 3060ti. As I said, CPU heavy, and my CPU is definitely outdated.
@@BNanaRamen Interesting.. Though after many research, I do believe my comparison and categorization is spot on.. Its just arcade and aerodynamic flight characteristics, are not realistic - just like the graphics are not.. (in both regards alone nowhere near close to be able to compare to DCS, I might consider War Thunder to be DCS light maybe) But respect though since Vtol is build by just one person, so do not get me wrong.. I do indeed believe Vtol seems to be a great game, with very nice community and multiplayer features and the fact it is build for motion VR controllers, sets it apart and peaks my interest.. Where most other arcade like are leaning more towards realism, when it comes down to required joystick inputs and more realistic graphics, but still lacking on some true depth and aerodynamics (except for DCS).. I consider my system average i7 8700k with 1080ti 32gb ram and m.2. ssd.. So the question still remains, will it run smooth 60fps at medium/high settings in the multiplayer VR!? That would be very very impressive! Already gave my money and will test soon myself, but I would still like to know what performance others are able to squeeze..
@@SkywalkFPV I would say your setup is capable of 60fps, I think your CPU is more heavyweight than mine! I agree that it's definitely not the same game as DCS, but VTOL is a gateway drug to DCS, with great immersion, fast start up time, and fantastic multiplayer. Best of luck, I look forward to playing with you when I'm back with my computer in December 😊❤️ Thanks for the ace discussion.
@@SkywalkFPV It's what I consider to be a nice middle ground between DCS and Ace Combat - kind of right in the middle. Not too arcade-y and not too complex. It'll get a bit more complex with the EW update coming up soon, especially with jamming and the radar changes, but it should still be a nice middle ground between super arcade and super sim. Easy to get into, hard to master.
