One thing to remember is that they are taking more elements from the original Wicked novel. The musical cut out a lot of subplots and characters.
Wicked shows what takes place both before and after Dorothy arrives in OZ.
Did you fall asleep during the second half of the show? The second half literally takes place during Dorothy's arrival and we see a different perspective of all the major events of Wizard of Oz, including the melting, which is pretty pivotal to the story!
they are making changes but both cynthia and ariana are amazing singers so i have faith in the songs.
