"NO!" - Caesar said calmly. The absolute shock of all the reactors faces is amazing. I never expected him to talk either for some reason, one of the most amazing moments in cinema imo.
@@AnansiMoore It's a play on the meme from Harry Potter. In the book Dumbledore asks "Did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire Harry" Dumbledore asked calmly. In the film version he basically shouts at Harry. So people always meme on it.
"But he was different from other apes. He did not grunt. He articulated. He spoke. He said a word that had been spoken to apes innumerable times. He said...no."
So poignant that Caeser’s first word is one of defiance. Especially with all of the religious symbolism around his life. The apes found their god and his first action was defying his captors.

The apes do speak in the older movies but I see what you mean, it felt totally unexpected
It probably felt unexpected because they didn’t use it in the advertising.
More like defiantly than calmly

Always loved hearing how folks tell how they theaters went silent after Caesar spoke for the first time. And that effect still carries on
A lot of people say they laugh first to the King Kong reference, but they quickly stop once he speaks.
Everyone’s dead silence when Caesar speaks is Pure Gold 👌🏻.
More from Planet of the Apes please 🙏🏻
Not sure what video you listened to but it was not silent
@@nicholasmarshall8430 This video. I’m talking about where Caesar yells “NO!” , and all the watchers go silent in shock.
One of the best scenes in the modern Planet of the Apes trilogy, how great that you made a mashup reaction to this iconic Caesar moment.

He said...no."
First to comment: Apes! Together! Strong!
