I was gifted a DF-7 as a kid when they first came out. They were sold to us that this was a great pedal to get different sounds without buying all the other pedals. And now after picking my guitar back up after 15 years and I am so glad I have it.
I gotta say, it's wildly impressive at your ability to jam on the fly in these live videos and seemingly never hit a flubbed note or run out of ideas or anything negative. Y'all just messing around is better than a lot of actual bands around nowadays :D

Ok, so am i the only one who's surprised that they didn't talk about the fact that there's a heel switch on the EX7, that there are all the distortion factory models hidden in there, that it also has cab sim and that it also can be used as a volume pedal?
This episode really feels a bit different than normal. I loved it. The slightly more roundtable feel, and the business analysis of the Digitech/DOD acquisition was really great.
I'll never NOT have the Expression Factory on my board. The whammy, flanger, space station are good, but the UniVibe and Leslie are worth double $$. Also, it has the DF-7 distortions in it. Oh, and all those cab sims too!

EX-7 is one of the greatest pedals ever made. It's a classic and so versatile. The whammy on its own is probably worth the price when you allow for the distortion and cab sims. Having the Leslie and univibe is astounding but add a pair of decent ways AND an ADA and it's virtually a pedalboard. You just have to warn your audience to "set your faces to stunned" (a bit like when watching this channel)...
I have one! Thanks for finally showcasing these underrated & innovative Digitech Pedals. Always loved it's sound on videos & soon after I found the DF7 for $50Aud about 5 years ago & still love it. People are just mad cos they slept on these for so long & forgot about them cos they thought they were "Too Digital" but they are great & very analog sounding, & are an affordable & convenient way to try out different pedals ( and Amps) like many Digital Apps & Pedals are today! Its funny i actually wanted a df 7 but could never remember what the actual name of the pedal was and was like OMG yes!!!! then went to reverb. and greated with insano prices but before you said it i knew it would calm down eventually. went to work the next day and was recounting the show to a friend at work. he calls me in the office later and tells me he found me one for 40 bucks lol. the advantages of working for the mighty GC. love your show thanks
in 2012 or so i bought a "digiitech xp-1000"; moded xp chassis with all 4 xp pedals selectable via rotary. you have to power down to switch pedals. you can still get them for between 250-300. totally worth it
I absolutely love these shows and it truly pisses me off when people who get these videos for free, enjoy them and learn something get so negative and come up with conspiracy theories. It’s as if they can’t simply appreciate something or someone, there must be a plot! These trolls have been doing this to Andertons for years as well. Accusing them of nefarious crap, be it faking the blindfold tests , because how could anyone like Chappers be so good at identifying gear? Or it’s The Captain must be trying to rip people off. Now they’re clearly hitting your show. The one that promotes other companies pedals! Just ignore them. Don’t even give them the time of day on your show. I guarantee you they are in the vast minority as most of us are grateful and truly enjoy your work. Thanks JHS!
I'm a long time Expression Factory user- I can't believe you didn't mention that all the distortion factory sounds and cab sims are included in the EX-7 (not to mention the hidden volume pedal mode!)
For example, you could have added the DOD 250 (or any of the distortions) by heel clicking the expression pedal rather than using the separate Distortion Factory pedal. It's so rad.
Guys, thank you for this video. I’ve had a DF-7 for over ten years now and it’s proven to be a workhorse for anything I need. Guitars, synths, vocals, NOAA transmissions,etc…. Setting seven inspired me to get a muff (the newly made green muff reissue), which I love, but I got used to the equalizer of the DF-7. The EQ is a bit touchy on this thing, but totally worth it. And thank you for explaining the cabinet settings on the mixer function, I always thought the mixer function sounded too dark. I’ll have to play around with it. Talk about Easter eggs…

Bought the EX-7 for $100 a few years ago and added the Digitech FS3X pedal to help control it. The EX-7 toe switch is notoriously a PITA to trigger. I have to do a flamingo one legged stand on it to trigger. Makes for a good stage presence move. Especially when I have flap the wings not to fall over. The heel switch is much easier, but engaged the DSF-7 which I don't always want to use.
I remember reading a mod to fix the toe switch AND extend the pedal range. There is a rubber stopper on the left side under the "i". That is the culprit. I pulled mine out and the toe switch is now easier to trigger and the range of the pedal is extended a bit. This does result in a part in the toe making contact with the frame. So if you don't want that contact, just shave the rubber stopper down to taste. I couldn't find where but I think it's the switch notches. There is a rubber stopper on the right side for the heel switch. Leave that one there or else you can trigger the heel switch way too easy just by normal rocking motions. rock on! get it? *sigh*
The toe-switch in my unit stopped working just the other day. I can still engage the green light with the FS3X connected so it's still usable. However, since the toe switch is also needed to change the distortion model (by holding it down for 3 seconds making the led flash yellow if I remember correctly) I cannot access that function anymore. I have not found a way to get to that selection-mode with the FS3X. Has anyone else experienced this or found solution ? Opening the enclosure to get to the faulty switch us a nightmare. No Allen Key seem to fit properly and once you have it open you can't get to the toe switch because the bloody board is in the way and held tight in place by some screws that seem to be unreachable...

Got one (edit - I’m talking about the DF7, never tried the other pedals in this video). I pulled it out for a jam and it’s as good as advertised. The cab sim tech on these pedals is great. Running the mixer out to the pa and the main to your amp gives a great mixed tone live as well. I didn’t know about the cab sim working in bypass mode, that’s a cool Easter egg. The Hot Rod distortion from this era is still one of my favourite gigging distortion pedals and features the cab sim stuff too.

Are the cab sims the same for Bad Monkey as they are the Distortion Factory. I have the Bad Monkey, Hot Rod, Digidelay and was wondering if all have the same cab sims.
Needed money so I sold my TC SCF and my TC1210..searched forever and replaced it with the Digitech CF-7 …it was by far the closest to the TC chorus sound ..and I went thru 20 chorus pedals..I recently bought a TC SCF Gold…but the CF-7 is still my 2ed favorite chorus…oh the CF-7 has CAB sims…
You guys just amazed me on what you’ve caused… there is not a single Digitech Factory series pedal anywhere that is not selling for an exorbitant amount of money… even in local ads here in So. California… love the show…
I had one sitting in my closet that I picked up for 25 bucks at pawn america 8 years ago when I wanted to slap some distortion on a synthesizer - I started playing guitar this year and it took me more than a month to pull it out. Didn't know about the amp sims but I have it in front of a peavey nashville 112 which is nearly transparent so discovering the amp sims did a lot for me. Thanks guys!
Josh, do a show on the old entry level multieffect units like those from Digitech, Korg, Zoom and the like... I used a Korg AXG1 for a while as it was the only thing I had... it had some neat effects!! maybe it is too cheap or uninteresting but I would love to see your take on those units. Cheers!
All the modes are amazing but the Leslie is unbelievably good. It's just spot on... I set all the drive presets to the Tube Screamer setting and it does the job perfectly. Brilliant design, the one and only annoyance is the weird power supply...
I would like to say that I was one of those people who “suggested” that Josh and his friends corner the market on specific pedals, then made a video to jack up prices. Of course, I was being sarcastic. Not surprised that some people think that’s a real thing they might be doing. But in reality, it’s absurd. And I still love the show. And still have no interest in buying any of these digitech pedals. At a pretty much any price. $25? Maybe. $85? Highly unlikely. But this was a great demo on the reality of what is going on inside these little gems. Great work as always, guys!
Am I the only one who got excited thinking they might be able to get some Zoom backgrounds of the pedal wall, and then ended up crestfallen that such a thing does not exist? (Yet?) I'd totally use those. 😃
Tropa Magica! I saw them in Seattle, opening for another band and they blew the headliner away. I got the same T-shirt that Joshua is wearing. Love them
One note is that the Distortion Factory is actually built into the Expression Factory. The only reason to have both is it can be hard to switch between settings easy. But that's the problem with this pedal. There is no memory or recall. Whatever settings you love on any model is in your brain, but switching models requires a lot of tweaking. For instance, if you go from wah to whammy or Univibe to Leslie. Univibe to Leslie may match up close enough, but wah, whammy, or space station won't.
I love my Digitch Tube Overdrive. It was the first pedal I bought along with a tuner pedal. It has been on every pedal board I have set up and just seems to add some sort of magic. Admittedly, I was not a big pedal guy. I get so much out of the guitar and amps I have owned, but I have since gotten into them. I still truly value my Digitech pedals and would love to get a few more despite having primarily tube amps.
I didn't have exactly this pedal line but I remember having the Screamin' Blues from Digitech for a long time (i traded for another pedal a few years ago) and I remember connecting the mix output for playing in several jam sessions that didn't have the bare minimum equipment and it sounded awesome. Thank you guys for this episodes because it means that I wasn't that drunk and the pedal actually did the work right 🤟😎.
I did just find the Chorus Factory for $65 in my local shop, and your video mentioning it solidified my waffling on buying it. I miss my Fulltone Choralflange, and it's great to have a version of it again. As I mentioned on the other video, it's the hug of death. You mention something cool, and it brings a lot of attention because of your influence. It's an unfortunate side effect. I'll keep an eye out for these pedals when the market calms the hell down.
Im really happy that you have this channel up. As a hard core gear geek, its awesome to be able to hear some circuits that I may of never heard other wise. And the jokes make it that much better. Like maybe 1cm, but better is better! Do it to it.
Gotta love people. Up to only a couple of weeks ago everyone hated in disgust on digitech digital stuff. Glad I never got rid of mine because I always loved it. I hope you review the digitech multi effects pedals like the GNX stuff and the IPB-10 because they are based on the same technology.
The EX-7 also has the hidden cabsim function. I just picked it up a week ago and it was absolutely worth every one of the $180 I paid. Distortions are better than the majority of my distortion pedals. I was honestly shocked. The EX7 is observably better on DS1 mode than my Boss DS1. Just the DS1 + the Whammy feature alone is just brilliant! Someone could make a mint smashing those together in a box
I’ve got an EX-7. Got it for the univibe & space station sounds which sound great & was pleasantly surprised when the distortions sounded good too. Powering it can be a pain & I’ve not found a good way to attach it to my board so any suggestions for that would be appreciated!
I found a used one at Guitar Center several years ago. I brought my own Whammy power supply to use for testing at the store, and I couldn't get anything out of it. I'm not sure what was up with it, and no one at the store knew what to do with it. I was looking for a cheap way to get some of the Space Station sounds, so it was a bummer that it didn't work.
i have the expression factory! ive had it for years and i still use it on my board. i love its options, wah and whammy! i had no idea there were other pedals in the series until now!
The RP-21 had a lot of the features of the expression factory pedal. I’ve always loved the tones and ease of dialing in the tones I want from Digitech products.
The pedals that can use the FS3X footswitch as an optional extra... It makes them much nicer to use, especially the expression factory. The cool trick is that it is really easy to make one yourself and put the wiring in a box to step on.
Negative comments on videos about cool/strange/ different / alternate gear really makes me disappointed and ashamed to be a musician and a gear nerd sometimes. Making someone feel like shit for liking a particular piece of gear (whether I even like the gear or not) just makes me facepalm and wish I was part of a different community lol.. Keep the great content coming JHS crew, forget the hate, it’s all love!!
I absolutely adore my Expression Factory! The V1 Whammy mod is great for those Tom Morello glitched out lead tones and the wahs were good enough for me to sell my RNC!
I've had the Expression Factory since about the time they came out. Really just wanted just the Whammy, but with all other stuff throw in I thought, what a bargain.
Love the x series delay! Have been thinking about getting a df7 for a while so was excited when you made the last video. Would love to see a video on the whole x series.
I'm watching this like months later. I'm currently a little sick (head cold or something) but I live overseas with my wife. Being sick is a quick way to make you want to go home. Tone Squad was oddly comforting. It's like guitar sesame street came on.

As i have been watching this afternoon, i got a Ex7 for $100aud posted. As you have been posting this series of oedals, i had been (by coincidence) in the process of buying a Ex7 from interstate. A bunch of these pedals would make a simple yet varied gig rig..
Today my go to is a headrush fx but I got DF7 years ago for guitars and more recently with grooveboxes . The DF7 cab sim in mixer out was a surprise thanks. I bought a CF7 cheap after seeing this video. They're great pedals.
Hey!!! I still use my Digitech processor and I miss my giant heavy GNX3, mostley cause the expression pedal worked well and was very sturdy. I dont miss wtubbing my toes on the thing. My newer multi fx is very light and portable but the expression pedal is plastic with very little throw. I have put it in the pocket of a guitars gig bag though. Ill probably have the old one repaired and put casters on it or make a dolly for it. lol :)
Reverb literally shows the estimated value of each product distortion factory was listed for $500 and valued at $65. My suggestion is, I have already started doing it, make an offer that is less than the estimated value, and make it an odd number. I offered $43.13 for a bunch of them lol. And then go leave a review giving the estimated value of the product. Together we will drive the price down. Also, still waiting for the octavia belle pedal, and it should come with a free ring tone down load of “everything’s crap”

That would be because they generally are reviewing new products currently in production and thus their reviews have little to no effect on the used market. Whereas there is a clear and very noticeable effect on prices after a JHS featured product because Josh often focuses on older, out of production units. You can't "blame" someone for something they aren't doing. That being said, I don't blame Josh for this, I like that he highlights hidden gems. I'm mostly annoyed at the people that up until this video wouldn't have even wiped their @ss with a digitech pedal but now think it's worth $300.
@@Jonathan-ih7qp I don't entirely disagree. But I pointed to those two because Pete Thorn often uses that kind of gear even if it isn't a main feature, but Andy throws back to old stuff all the time. That Pedal Show uses out of production or hard to secure stuff often but with few exceptions I don't see it happening to the same extent. My point being its more about the viewership than the viewed. Really I'm just fascinated by the commenters. Like people want to know what the cool stuff is but do they expect Josh to just sidebar into their DM's or something? Do they expect JHS to do an in depth screening to keep scalpers out. I don't deny the correlation at all but ultimately these guys are just easier to blame because you (not you personally) have a name and face to link up as opposed to the nameless wave of scalpers. Unless they have some kind of executive power on Reverb we're just not aware of to cap prices 😆
My first rig was a Squire Strat into a Digitech RP90 into a Fender GDEC (can't remember what it stands for) and I been a Digitech fan every since. And this was at the height of the Guitar Hero game and I felt like a fool acting like I could play guitar, so I went to my local shop with $500 and that's what I was able to leave with. Keep in mind the RP90 had just been released and cost as much as the guitar did. But that was high fucking tech back then.
Digitech rp500s are also great. I don’t think they make em anymore but man I’m so glad I bought one. It was great for trying different effects. Just about everything you can think of is on there . Fuzz delay compressor amp presets wahs etc etc. I think I payed like 250which is less then most pedals nowadays. Only problem I ever had was with power cables I went thru 3 or 4 and it’s not a simple 9volt wall wort.
I got one after seeing your demonstration video. I just used it on a concert with my Bad Cat(Hot Cat) amp. I really love this pedal. I remember when it came, and would never buy one, as it looked too ugly... ( I don't know ).... I have owned and used TS9, Rat, and Big Muff. I really have to say that it's better than the original pedals. I used the TS9 , and I have never had as good TS9 like this before. Maybe I used the EQ to make it sound better, but damn... A BIG thank you.

Been on a mission the last year and a half collecting all of the Digitech pedals from this era (in good condition with the box). Got the whole Hardwire series but missing just the CF-7 (will be a while before I get that one now...) and a couple others from the X-Series (Flanger, Tuner, and Synth Wah).
So are you able to set the cab sim, before you switch to the fuzz model? I was confused if the pedal can only do one or the other at a time. Or can you set which cab sim you want, than turn the pedal on to which fuzz model you want?
About three years ago, I bought a CF-7 for $45. Digitech pedals were still crazy cheap even then. Now, prices have doubled or tripled; Hardwire even more so. Anyways, I have the DF-7 & CF-7 and love 'em. I have always wanted an Expression Factory but the stars have never aligned...

Same here! Only downside is the heel switch is sometimes a little too sensitive and I’ll accidentally turn on the distortion lol.

I have to do a flamingo one legged stand on it to trigger. Makes for a good stage presence move. Especially when I have flap the wings not to fall over. The heel switch is much easier, but engaged the DSF-7 which I don't always want to use.
I remember reading a mod to fix the toe switch AND extend the pedal range. There is a rubber stopper on the left side under the "i". That is the culprit. I pulled mine out and the toe switch is now easier to trigger and the range of the pedal is extended a bit. This does result in a part in the toe making contact with the frame. So if you don't want that contact, just shave the rubber stopper down to taste. I couldn't find where but I think it's the switch notches. There is a rubber stopper on the right side for the heel switch. Leave that one there or else you can trigger the heel switch way too easy just by normal rocking motions. rock on! get it? *sigh*
The toe-switch in my unit stopped working just the other day. I can still engage the green light with the FS3X connected so it's still usable. However, since the toe switch is also needed to change the distortion model (by holding it down for 3 seconds making the led flash yellow if I remember correctly) I cannot access that function anymore. I have not found a way to get to that selection-mode with the FS3X. Has anyone else experienced this or found solution ? Opening the enclosure to get to the faulty switch us a nightmare. No Allen Key seem to fit properly and once you have it open you can't get to the toe switch because the bloody board is in the way and held tight in place by some screws that seem to be unreachable...

Got one (edit - I’m talking about the DF7, never tried the other pedals in this video). I pulled it out for a jam and it’s as good as advertised. The cab sim tech on these pedals is great. Running the mixer out to the pa and the main to your amp gives a great mixed tone live as well. I didn’t know about the cab sim working in bypass mode, that’s a cool Easter egg. The Hot Rod distortion from this era is still one of my favourite gigging distortion pedals and features the cab sim stuff too.

I've had (and still have) both for years. I loved being able to come to a gig, and just plug into the PA.... seriously underrated pedals.
I used my Bad Monkey, with the cab sim output to record direct. No amp, just guitar into Bad Monkey into my Tascam recorder, and it sounded great.
Are the cab sims the same for Bad Monkey as they are the Distortion Factory. I have the Bad Monkey, Hot Rod, Digidelay and was wondering if all have the same cab sims.

Needed money so I sold my TC SCF and my TC1210..searched forever and replaced it with the Digitech CF-7 …it was by far the closest to the TC chorus sound ..and I went thru 20 chorus pedals..I recently bought a TC SCF Gold…but the CF-7 is still my 2ed favorite chorus…oh the CF-7 has CAB sims…

Found the DF-7 at the flea market for like $15-$20 a while ago, time to dig it out from where ever I put it!
I had one sitting in my closet that I picked up for 25 bucks at pawn america 8 years ago when I wanted to slap some distortion on a synthesizer - I started playing guitar this year and it took me more than a month to pull it out.
Didn't know about the amp sims but I have it in front of a peavey nashville 112 which is nearly transparent so discovering the amp sims did a lot for me. Thanks guys!

Josh, do a show on the old entry level multieffect units like those from Digitech, Korg, Zoom and the like... I used a Korg AXG1 for a while as it was the only thing I had... it had some neat effects!! maybe it is too cheap or uninteresting but I would love to see your take on those units. Cheers!

I set all the drive presets to the Tube Screamer setting and it does the job perfectly. Brilliant design, the one and only annoyance is the weird power supply...
I would like to say that I was one of those people who “suggested” that Josh and his friends corner the market on specific pedals, then made a video to jack up prices. Of course, I was being sarcastic. Not surprised that some people think that’s a real thing they might be doing. But in reality, it’s absurd. And I still love the show. And still have no interest in buying any of these digitech pedals. At a pretty much any price. $25? Maybe. $85? Highly unlikely. But this was a great demo on the reality of what is going on inside these little gems. Great work as always, guys!

Expression Factory is most underrated pedal ever. The synth is drool worthy. I bought mine when I first saw The Edge from U2 uses it live for Streets.

One note is that the Distortion Factory is actually built into the Expression Factory. The only reason to have both is it can be hard to switch between settings easy. But that's the problem with this pedal. There is no memory or recall. Whatever settings you love on any model is in your brain, but switching models requires a lot of tweaking. For instance, if you go from wah to whammy or Univibe to Leslie. Univibe to Leslie may match up close enough, but wah, whammy, or space station won't.
I love my Digitch Tube Overdrive. It was the first pedal I bought along with a tuner pedal. It has been on every pedal board I have set up and just seems to add some sort of magic. Admittedly, I was not a big pedal guy. I get so much out of the guitar and amps I have owned, but I have since gotten into them. I still truly value my Digitech pedals and would love to get a few more despite having primarily tube amps.
I didn't have exactly this pedal line but I remember having the Screamin' Blues from Digitech for a long time (i traded for another pedal a few years ago) and I remember connecting the mix output for playing in several jam sessions that didn't have the bare minimum equipment and it sounded awesome. Thank you guys for this episodes because it means that I wasn't that drunk and the pedal actually did the work right 🤟😎.
I did just find the Chorus Factory for $65 in my local shop, and your video mentioning it solidified my waffling on buying it. I miss my Fulltone Choralflange, and it's great to have a version of it again.
As I mentioned on the other video, it's the hug of death. You mention something cool, and it brings a lot of attention because of your influence. It's an unfortunate side effect.
I'll keep an eye out for these pedals when the market calms the hell down.

Gotta love people. Up to only a couple of weeks ago everyone hated in disgust on digitech digital stuff. Glad I never got rid of mine because I always loved it. I hope you review the digitech multi effects pedals like the GNX stuff and the IPB-10 because they are based on the same technology.

The EX-7 also has the hidden cabsim function. I just picked it up a week ago and it was absolutely worth every one of the $180 I paid. Distortions are better than the majority of my distortion pedals. I was honestly shocked. The EX7 is observably better on DS1 mode than my Boss DS1. Just the DS1 + the Whammy feature alone is just brilliant! Someone could make a mint smashing those together in a box

I’ve got an EX-7. Got it for the univibe & space station sounds which sound great & was pleasantly surprised when the distortions sounded good too. Powering it can be a pain & I’ve not found a good way to attach it to my board so any suggestions for that would be appreciated!
I thought it was the same power supply as a whammy. Also I’ll buy it.
I found a used one at Guitar Center several years ago. I brought my own Whammy power supply to use for testing at the store, and I couldn't get anything out of it. I'm not sure what was up with it, and no one at the store knew what to do with it. I was looking for a cheap way to get some of the Space Station sounds, so it was a bummer that it didn't work.

i have the expression factory! ive had it for years and i still use it on my board. i love its options, wah and whammy! i had no idea there were other pedals in the series until now!
The RP-21 had a lot of the features of the expression factory pedal. I’ve always loved the tones and ease of dialing in the tones I want from Digitech products.

The space station setting was amazing! I regrettably got rid of a jetpack modified xp 1000. Had all four of the xp pedals. Pretty amazing.

The pedals that can use the FS3X footswitch as an optional extra... It makes them much nicer to use, especially the expression factory. The cool trick is that it is really easy to make one yourself and put the wiring in a box to step on.
I think I’ve owned my EX7 for like 10 years. I bought it for the Space Station preset, but used the Rotary cab sim a LOT.
Negative comments on videos about cool/strange/ different / alternate gear really makes me disappointed and ashamed to be a musician and a gear nerd sometimes. Making someone feel like shit for liking a particular piece of gear (whether I even like the gear or not) just makes me facepalm and wish I was part of a different community lol.. Keep the great content coming JHS crew, forget the hate, it’s all love!!

Today my go to is a headrush fx but I got DF7 years ago for guitars and more recently with grooveboxes . The DF7 cab sim in mixer out was a surprise thanks. I bought a CF7 cheap after seeing this video. They're great pedals.

Hey!!! I still use my Digitech processor and I miss my giant heavy GNX3, mostley cause the expression pedal worked well and was very sturdy. I dont miss wtubbing my toes on the thing. My newer multi fx is very light and portable but the expression pedal is plastic with very little throw. I have put it in the pocket of a guitars gig bag though. Ill probably have the old one repaired and put casters on it or make a dolly for it. lol :)
I think Nick is exactly correct. The Come As You Are intro was on bass with the effect. Played a whole step down around the 12th fret.

Reverb literally shows the estimated value of each product distortion factory was listed for $500 and valued at $65. My suggestion is, I have already started doing it, make an offer that is less than the estimated value, and make it an odd number. I offered $43.13 for a bunch of them lol. And then go leave a review giving the estimated value of the product. Together we will drive the price down.

That would be because they generally are reviewing new products currently in production and thus their reviews have little to no effect on the used market. Whereas there is a clear and very noticeable effect on prices after a JHS featured product because Josh often focuses on older, out of production units.
You can't "blame" someone for something they aren't doing.
That being said, I don't blame Josh for this, I like that he highlights hidden gems. I'm mostly annoyed at the people that up until this video wouldn't have even wiped their @ss with a digitech pedal but now think it's worth $300.
@@Jonathan-ih7qp I don't entirely disagree. But I pointed to those two because Pete Thorn often uses that kind of gear even if it isn't a main feature, but Andy throws back to old stuff all the time. That Pedal Show uses out of production or hard to secure stuff often but with few exceptions I don't see it happening to the same extent. My point being its more about the viewership than the viewed. Really I'm just fascinated by the commenters. Like people want to know what the cool stuff is but do they expect Josh to just sidebar into their DM's or something? Do they expect JHS to do an in depth screening to keep scalpers out. I don't deny the correlation at all but ultimately these guys are just easier to blame because you (not you personally) have a name and face to link up as opposed to the nameless wave of scalpers. Unless they have some kind of executive power on Reverb we're just not aware of to cap prices 😆

My first rig was a Squire Strat into a Digitech RP90 into a Fender GDEC (can't remember what it stands for) and I been a Digitech fan every since. And this was at the height of the Guitar Hero game and I felt like a fool acting like I could play guitar, so I went to my local shop with $500 and that's what I was able to leave with. Keep in mind the RP90 had just been released and cost as much as the guitar did. But that was high fucking tech back then.
Digitech rp500s are also great. I don’t think they make em anymore but man I’m so glad I bought one. It was great for trying different effects. Just about everything you can think of is on there . Fuzz delay compressor amp presets wahs etc etc. I think I payed like 250which is less then most pedals nowadays. Only problem I ever had was with power cables I went thru 3 or 4 and it’s not a simple 9volt wall wort.
I got one after seeing your demonstration video. I just used it on a concert with my Bad Cat(Hot Cat) amp. I really love this pedal. I remember when it came, and would never buy one, as it looked too ugly... ( I don't know ).... I have owned and used TS9, Rat, and Big Muff. I really have to say that it's better than the original pedals. I used the TS9 , and I have never had as good TS9 like this before. Maybe I used the EQ to make it sound better, but damn... A BIG thank you.

Been on a mission the last year and a half collecting all of the Digitech pedals from this era (in good condition with the box). Got the whole Hardwire series but missing just the CF-7 (will be a while before I get that one now...) and a couple others from the X-Series (Flanger, Tuner, and Synth Wah).
I have all x series pedals boxes great shape 4 trade or sell not looking for a lot just something different
So are you able to set the cab sim, before you switch to the fuzz model? I was confused if the pedal can only do one or the other at a time. Or can you set which cab sim you want, than turn the pedal on to which fuzz model you want?

I was gifted a PDS 1002 Delay 12 years ago…It sat in my busted FX box. I plugged it in….AND IT WORKS!!!🤯 It’s going on my big board build.
About three years ago, I bought a CF-7 for $45. Digitech pedals were still crazy cheap even then. Now, prices have doubled or tripled; Hardwire even more so. Anyways, I have the DF-7 & CF-7 and love 'em. I have always wanted an Expression Factory but the stars have never aligned...
