ahhh i’m only in 10th grade but i have been looking for colleges to go to and this one is my absolute dream. i wanna study marine bio too! if you could make a video of how you got in, your gpa, application letter, etc, that would be so helpful!!
I have a 3.17 cumulative gpa, 24 act and I got in for marine bio. Tgis school has an 80 some % acceptance rate, if you’re a decent student shouldn’t have any trouble getting in
Hey! :) I'm a recent grad from Manoa and your video popped up on my home page! Great job showing all the main areas of the towers. I remember 5 years ago when I was trying to figure out which school I wanted to go to and where I wanted to live, I found it so frustrating that there were no good dorm tour videos! The lifestyle is not glamorous, but I really recommend living in the dorms to anyone wanting to go to UH! The social scene is good, and I met my best friends in my neighboring dorm! It makes it easy to make friends, especially if you're moving to Hawaii alone! Freshman years and living in the dorms was some of the most fun times I had in Hawaii! (P.S. the parking sucks... you can either get a permit for zone 25 as a freshman (2 miles from the dorms), or try to find parking on dole street, and sometimes there is none, so keep that in mind!)
It's so strange to find other people who also study marine biology lol I loved getting to know this university, even more when I study biomarine at the University of Rio Grande do Sul (BR). Thanks for showing, I love your channel. 🥰
Thank you so much for making this!! I have a few questions as well: What are COVID restrictions thus far? Are masks required when walking around the dorm building/in lounge areas? Do you have to pay to do laundry? Like put quarters in every load? Is that the only kitchen in the entire building lol? How often is it actually used? Are you mainly eating in a cafeteria, and if so, do you have to pay every meal or is there a sort of meal plan built into Room and Board costs? Sorry for all the questions lol, I am just so eager to get my application in and hopefully join you in the coming years!! Like you mentioned, it’s kinda hard to visit lol
hi! as of right now covid restrictions are still strict in hawaii. you do need a mask inside the dorm buildings as well as the gym and campus center. you do have to pay to do laundry, there is an app that the machines use that you can load money on to!
I am planning on transferring there in about three years and this has been the most detailed and helpful video!!! 💗💗💗please make more videos related to the life as a student there!
thank you!!! im thinking of going to uh manoa for a semester as an exchange student. im a bio major as well! maybe we will bump into each other someday :)
They keep emailing me and extending my application deadline and I wasn’t gonna apply buuut maybe after this video I will ! Just don’t want to leave my family and stuff :(
Someone mentioned something about the roaches? Is there a solution? Also how much time do you normally spend in your dorm room? And how much time per day do you normally spend on homework?
hi! i’ve only had one roach in the dorm so it isn’t rly a problem for me! i spend a lot of time in my room during the school day bc my classes are online and i normally spend 2-3 hours a day on hw!
Stop using plasticware because you don't want to wash silverware. Waste is an issue in Hawai'i. Where do you think that plastic ends up? If you live in Hawai'i, please take care of Hawai'i.
hi thank u so much for this comment. u are completely right and I was being inconsiderate and not thinking when I said that and im sorry. I do try my best to not use plastic cutlery and straws anymore so thank u for holding me accountable. we all have to work together to protect the aina

how much was the cost for both semesters out of state?
Depends on if you are on the west coast or not. My tuition is $52,000 because I’m from Texas but if you’re from west coast it’s 32,000 I believe.
i‘m so sorry but I have to say that. glatthaar means straighthair in german. random fact lol
