Thanks for listening , Stanley! Besides all the practice hours, I think a big part of it has to do with how much I've listened to the old records. Not just the piano parts, but the vocal melodies, the horn solos etc...really internalizing all the phrasing, which helps it flow out naturally . BTW, I recently came across these Little Brother Montgomery transcriptions by Kristian Olsen, which are great! They're based on the recordings and slightly from my own versions, which was flattering.
