- Who were the mistresses of Louis XV before Jeanne Du Barry and Madame De Pompadour - Part I: After many years of being faithful to his queen, Maria Leszynska, who gave him many children, the King of France, Louis XV, fell under the spell of Louise Mailly De Nesle. But when Louis fell in love with Louise, he was unaware that the young lady had four young sisters, each more seductive than the last: Pauline, Diane, Hortense and Marie-Anne. Without much ado, the demoiselles de Mailly-Nesle agreed, one after the other, to make their king happy before he moved on to the infamous Marquise de Pompadour and Madame Jeanne Du Barry. Five Mailly-Nesle girls, but who were they ? Let’s find out !

Louis must have been exhausted.
LoL haha 🤣
I no right lol
Quite right ...
Maybe he took some pills to enhance his. You-know-what. Just a joke 😮
Wasn’t his wife pregnant like 10 times
really the 5 was threatened by her husband dir not want to be royal cuckold, iere is the refusal of the principesse lamballe borbone:Marie ThereseLuoise savoie carignan.
I always felt that Louis XV was most responsible for the excesses of the monarchy which led to the revolution. This video only reinforces my beliefs.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Paul !
Four out of five sisters were the Kings mistresses 😳 Marianne was sent away from court as was Madame Dubarry when the King was dying from smallpox. Thank you for this very interesting video! 😊❤️💐
Glad you liked it !
Goodness - how awkward must dinners have been in the Mailly-Nesle family home! Just kidding - a super interesting video as always - thank you!
Good point haha ! I do know the father of the girls said that the king ought to finish the job and bed him too... Thanks for watching !
Louise's mistake was being too kind to her two younger sisters Pauline and Marie Anne who treated her badly. Hortense was the wisest though Marie Anne felt threatened by her. Diane after the death of Marie Anne returned to Louis briefly and a few months later he met Madame de Pompadour.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
Very interesting family business they had! Thank you for presenting their lives so well.
Glad you liked it Cherie !
My favourite sister is the fourth, Hortense. Loved this video. Waiting eagerly for the second part, Nieke.
Glad you liked it !
All of Louis XV's illagitamete children lived to maturity.
So did most of Louis XIV and the daughters married prominent noblemen.
@@cato1684 His 3 daughters who survived to adulthood all married nobles. Marie Anne daughter of Louise de la Valierre married Louis Armand the brother of Louis Le Grand Conti (a nephew of Le Grand Conde) Louise Françoise daughter of Madame de Montespan married Louis III de Bourbon Conde (grandson of Le Grand Conde) and Françoise Marie daughter of Madame de Montespan married Phillippe II de Orléan, the son of Monseiur Phillippe.
Bravo madame, Wounderful episode and great pictures. Those eyes of the 5 woman remind me of my Mother, her sisters, grandmother and 2 granddaughters.Identicle resemblance and gaze.Their parents supplied the king with 5 daughters, all stunning bueatiful sisters. The family you might say,did their royal duty for king and country! ⚜️❤️. Merci Madame
Glad you liked the video Jacques.

Hi, awesome live history video I enjoyed it. How are you and cute Rani your cat doing? I'm doing well. My cat Benjamin says hi to you and cute Rani your cat. He sends his purrs. My cat Benjamin doesn't like to be picked up. Does Rani your cat like to be picked up? How is the weather where you are? We have lots of rain in Canada. Have a great day see you next video. Greetings from Canada 😊
Rani and I are doing well. Today's a sunny day so Rani's sunbathing on my balcony. Rani also doesn't like to be picked up. At all. I can expect scratches if I do ... I hope the weather will soon clear up for you ! Give Benjamin all our love and purrs !
I have A question for you: have you ever heard of the beer flood of London ?

The sisters are maternal granddaughters of Hortence Mancini.
No way! Following in their grandmother's footsteps, then... Like Camilla & Alice Keppel, I guess 😂
@Beth&793 aparently so but I have to ask who is your favorite of the sisters to me it's the oldest Louise Julie
Yes, that's right !
Thank you so much for making this video. I really appreciate you talking about the Mailly-Nesle sisters. It was fascinating how one family was able to secure the Official Mistress position for so long. Once again, thank you very much
Thanks Vishnu, glad you liked the video !
Today's closed caption mishap takes Pauline from Mistress to the King to mattress of the King. (At least I am hoping that this is a closed caption mishap.)
Lol uh oh !
That was brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
So glad you liked it !
I love your videos so much ❤
Thank you so very much.
Strength in numbers
Sisterly love....
Fun fact: Did you know,Henry Jenkins was born in 1501 and died in 1670 ?
Undoubtedly an administrative mistake, where sons were considered to be the father...
@@TheKingsofFrance that's not the response I was expecting.
@@savagedarksider2147 What response were you expecting ? :) ...
@@TheKingsofFrance I was expecting you saying "That's interesting, I didn't know that."
@@savagedarksider2147 well, I didn’t know that. But..the same has happened with a japanese man who once held the record for being the longest man who ever lived… and turned out to be not. But about Henry… I will be reading up on him so thank you !
