    Always check for leaks before using. It takes 2 minutes to do.

    Just happened on this “how to” instructions, because my first time torch components will be arriving in a few days. Thanks for the very clear instructional steps to setting up the regulators to the tanks properly.

    thank you. My mother asked me to solder her broken gold chain and i din't remember the steps to set-up the torch since it has been such a long time since iv'e used my tools. I'm not comfortable doing repairs anymore but I couldn't say no to the mom so i followed your instructions and it worked perfect. Problem is I soldered at least 4 links together for lack of pratice !. oh well !! at least she can wear the chain again lol

    Thank you very much. No one could ever take the time to show me how to use my torch. I have been afraid to use it for fear of burning up the tips. Again thank you very much, even though it was simple, if you don't know the regulator settings, it is a big thing.

    Thank you so much for this demo. My question is when I attach the flashback regulators to my tanks the arrow is pointing upwards toward the tanks and I am told they are suppose to point downward but the flash arrestors are made so that when the female nut that screws onto the tank the arrow ends up pointing upward. What should I do?

    Thank you SO MUCH. I’m just learning about my smith little torch. I haven’t been able to find a regular that fits the smaller disposable sized propane bottles which is what I currently have hooked up as it came from my Dad’s who I recently inherited this set up from: it has the small red topped mini regular on it. I’m a bit nervous about it’s safety but the. Again he used this all the time. You don’t mention flash back arrestirs. Are they not a necessity? Thank you so much for any advice you could offer and thank you VERY much for your video.

      Either end is acceptable as long as you have them installed

    Great video but I have a question that how long can we keep on using that burner or torch?I mean can we keep on igniting it for hours or do we need to give it a rest?it is dangerous to keep it on ignition for hours because it could get too hot or can we use it for as long as we want?

      Right, also you need to loosen your regs t handle when done as well as shut the tanks off

    nothing said about the propane regulator... can one use an acetylene regulator by changing out the tank fitting? Is there a proprietary propane regulator? I'm used to using acetylene so I need to know about the propane regulator.

  • @strykerentllc
    @strykerentllc 2 роки тому +2

    Poor set up sequence and dangerous shut down sequence. Blowing out the O2 fitting before installing the regulator is a must. A spec of dust in the system can be a fuel source.
    Heat of recompression can injure or kill due to regulator burn out. Search RBO and learn. Always bleed out the lines and back out the regulator to zero so the next guy to use the equipment doesn't get hurt, or worse.
    Smith (Miller) has a recommended sequence if anybody is interested in staying safe.

    NO CRESCENT WRENCH!!! That is such a NO NO, there are tools made for this and a crescent is not it. Use a tank wrench, or a 10 way tank wrench.
