Keep in mind that Trevor’s 55 isn’t the same as Borrow’s 55. The Jags offered their QB his 55 after the salary cap went up 13.6% (about $31 Million). So, while it looks like they are valuing him the same amount as Joey Brrrr, they are real valuing him less (which makes sense, given the disparity in significant playoff wins/runs, etc.)
He's overpaid by at least $30 million per year.
Tom’s mustache: no. Tom’s information: always top-notch!
Jordan Love with half a season of good play wouldn't convince me to spend $60M per year..
me either but they are already claiming him the next coming of Aaron Rodgers on this show by that half season last year.
@@Skyvernius that's going to end poorly, he's going to have his share of struggles like the playoff game vs SF
Oh yeah plus with their qb record you know almost everyone hyping him up that's alot of pressure and he felt it against sf
With all these qbs getting mind-blowing money, the Mahomes deal continues to look like the best gm move of the century
Mahomes did get a bump to 53 million per year for 23 thru 26, but after 2026 I expect him to break 70 million.
@@jakebarnes1950especially after two more SB wins😉
It is incredible that teams have not finally put their foot down regarding B to B+ players, specifically QBs. Trevor was not worth the price point, Carr when he got paid the first time wasn't worth the price tag, Kirk Cousins has not been worth the coin and hit to the cap, Dak has not been worth it, it is tough to say that Lamar is worth the price, the Watson desperate hail Mary by the Browns has not been worth the price of admission, etc.
I don't know who it is going to be, but some team is eventually say enough is enough.
Pay Tua whatever he wants!!
Keep him in Miami at all costs!!!!
-Bills Mafia
I second that!!
How is sponsoring that lgbtq flag football working out for bills fans?
@@jameswesterman9283 no clue what you’re talking about? So, not good, I guess 🤔
Yall got no room to talk letting the Chiefs get the best wr on paper(at the draft) smh yall really said let him transform
@@kakarotsongoku6875 😂 What??
Thats seriously dumbest take I’ve heard in a long time. If I were you I wouldn’t say things like that in public.
Worthy wasn’t The top receiver on paper. He wasn’t even top 5. He got drafted way too high because of his 40 time. I wouldn’t want a WR that small anywhere near my offense!!
“I will come in as a divorced man” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💀💀
Tom is Legendary
Is there a mathematical model that gives an average or ideal percentage of cap per position? Or even by position room. For instance 15% on the QB room, 15%on WRs 10%on OLine, 5%RBs 5%TEs, 2%ST 10%LBs, 13%DLine, 15% secondary, 15% edge. And which teams follow this closely and are balanced and which are skewed from a monetary value? For instance is there a team that spends vastly more on defense- Think it might be the Steelers.
I have heard about teams using a model like this on certain positions, like a % cap on LBs, safeties, interior linemen, so that they don’t overpay a position they can more easily replace than OT, edge rusher, etc.
My guess is no team does this for all positions. For example 15% on WRs does sound good in theory but the Vikings have Jefferson and had to pay him the top non-QB contract in the league so that 15% is now thrown out the window. There are lots of exceptions around the league that would mess with this % cap on positions so that’s why I don’t think teams try to follow it on all positions.
Just pay up, the longer you wait...curious to see if Cowboys extend Dak
Tom claiming that dark smudge around his lips is a stach is just 😂 !
I don't get females hate with facial hair, unless its just a mustache because those are creepy but I can't stand clean shaven. Save the beard.
Aiyuk saying they don’t want him back is the most disingenuous thing I’ve heard in a long time 😂
yeah if they "didn't want him" he woulda been traded at/before the draft
i've always felt like Aiyuk is the one they'd rather have long term over Deebo
That stache looks like a picket fence made of hair.
Aiyuk gonna get traded to carolina or somehow an even worse team and thats... thats gonna be sad.
Dude doesnt realize how good he got it being in the bay and a coach at least able to utilize him. We dont realize how good we got it seeing him play at his best with such a stacked team around him.
Truth....but..he has to TRY @ least to get the $$$$...someone ( washington?) will overpay
@neilenglish8582 I genuinely don't know what'd I'd do in his situation. It's a tough one.
Go get the bag. But maybe be on a worse team. Maybe on a team with so much dysfunction they cant or dont know how to make it work...?
Stay on this team... but not reach the highest of his potential...?
Stay and possibly reach highest potential... but not paid like it...?
Either way there's so much uncertainty it'd drive me to depression or pissed off rager. I don't have the mentality to be a pro at all 🤣
“…and by ‘that’ I mean THAT.” 😂
Tom is always interesting to listen to.
When did Tua even win a playoff game? Why on earth would he be a guy that should reset the market! Offer him Daniel Jones money! That's about what he's worth. And I'm being nice.
Starts @ 3:08
Thank you 🙏🏾
I'm a Jordan Love supporter but giving him the most money in league history or even top-5 money would be a colossal mistake for Green Bay. Love didn't even dominate all of last season, he played well during the second-half of the year; including the playoffs. However Love has started for 1-season, they shouldn't pay him as if he's a top-5 guy after just that. After two seasons I'd be hesitant but I get it but the NFL has tape on him &will come for him this year. Why rush it &pay Love, when it looks like Dak, Tua, Justin Fields or Russ Wilson could all be available next offseason. Wait &see what the playing-field looks like there's no reason to lock yourself in with Love
NEXT ! ............ trevs' con is money for the rest of the league (48/55) -7 mill for the Jax that's a player down the road
Starting QB prices are a bubble. You can tell this by the price of backup quarterbacks.
The Colts went 9 and 8 with a reserve last year. They weren't the only team getting mileage with an underpriced starter. The 49ers, anyone???
Bottom Line: If Owners and GM's are dumb enough to pay $55M or more for Average QB play, good for the players. That said... good luck holding a team together for 3 years.
Gardner Minshew put up basically the same numbers in Jacksonville. ( I actually think Minshew might've had better numbers) Trevor Lawrence was supposed to be transformative a blue chip number 1 pick that should've at least gotten to the AFC championship game, to get paid like Burrow. People keep acting like the players have the power. There's enough talent coming out of college now, that you can reset if you haven't chosen the right guy. If the owner wants it! It's what's going to happen, but if Jerry Jones is foolish enough to extend Dak before he has playoff success! He's a fool. Ceedee & Micah are under contract. The penalties are insane. I as a Commander's fan want them to extend Dak! That should tell you something. 😅😂😅
Tell me you didnt watch many Minshew games without saying it…
@@MM-cs2rt Are you always this clever?
@@softjones3128 clever is relative. To you, I’m probably this clever most of the time. Stick to madden.
Tua has had the luxury of throwing to Hill and Waddle. Trevor had NEVER had those kind of weapons or had a good o-line. Also, Tua and the Dolphins did not be a team last year with a winning record. Everyone cannot forget his injury history as well.
u pay ur team based off what the bad organizations do, ur team is fucked to. teams like the browns jags just bad organizations always lol.
Actually it's George who says "Take a vacation from ourselves." Jerry is only quoting him.
I always wonder how these owners made their money by how they run their football teams.
Trevor Lawrence to get hurt this year yet again..... junk contract
Suggestions are Jets QB Aaron Rodgers Is On Ayahuasca Trip
This makes zero since to me. Why can't the Ayahuasca Trips happen anytime? He's giving up time during mandatory camp and around $100,000. Bull dodo. Why couldn't this Ayahuasca Trip happen during a more appropriate time. He could take the loss of $100,000 and use it to have complete control over the Ayahuasca Trip. Doesn't it make since he could completely control all aspects of his extracurricular activity. Did he pick his extracurricular activity over Jets football? If this is for personal yippee time, shame on him.
I'd make Tua play all road games starting November
Love when Tom is on! But you cant pay ur QB more because u have too. U don't have too! Tua doesnt deserve that. And how is it the baseline? You have others playing for 40M$$ He is NOT WORTH ANYTHING NEAR THAT! Period
LOL. Nice crustache Pelissero
I love Tom’s info and Rich’s insight, however can we not obsess over what he’s wearing or looking like? LOL
That's the opposite of "LOL". Can't even tease anymore.
The dolphins should trade Tua, he’s not it.
Selleck the stache ........it's hot❤❤❤❤
Rich , you’re such a shill……………….🏈
Regarding paying Aiyuk 30+ million a year, there's also the considerable fact that the 49ers will have to pay a massive contract to Brock Purdy while renegotiating Kittle's contract to keep him past 2026. But beyond those two, the 49ers will need to figure out who they pay and keep with both starting corners - C Ward, D Lenoir, MLB - Dre Greenlaw, LG - Aaron Banks, HB - E Mitchell, FS - T Hufanga, and RT - C Mckivitz all in their final years next year. If not paying Aiyuk can help keep two or three of those players, it's worth cutting loose Aiyuk.
Hopefully, Aiyuk waiting another year to get paid nets him an even bigger contract than Jefferson's next year.
He will not top Jefferson regardless of when he signs.
The only reason a cost cap exists is because of irresponsible and incompetent money management.
To add a QB cap is an admission of ineptitude.
That's true of all professional sports.
@@73ajd1 - agreed. Just because some teams are weak/silly enough to pay unproven players top dollar does not mean it is the new market standard or that everyone should follow. That is what is claimed on this show and others, over and over again and some teams buy into that idea but not all.
Crazy how he says Brandon Aiyuk hasn't had the production of St Brown, but its ok for Trevor Lawrence to get paid with the same stats as Gardner Minshew.
150 less yards 2 less tds and 50 plus less targets. I guess that's less productive.
Cannot wait for the NY media to have their way with A-A-Ron 😂
NFL INSIDER talks Tom's moustache!
He has a cold sore
25 minutes of tommy P! Tuesday made.
He’s got a head start on Movember…
Best two minutes of this show.
Love Tom and Albert
FYI I think the mustache looks great
We need tier contracts
Keep the stache up!!
Aiyuk wants Amon Ra's contract, and he deserves it. (Or even more) However, SF should let Aiyuk play out his last year, franchise him, and then trade him for some picks. That's what the 9ers did with Deforest Buckner, and one of those picks was used to get Aiyuk. Paying Aiyuk top 10 WR money while also paying Deebo top 10 WR money, on top of Jennings, who's the highest paid WR 3 in the NFL, is too much to pay WRs, especially when hoping 1st round pick Piersall (an Aiyuk type of WR) and the speedster Cowing in the 4th round mature into WR 2s and 3s by the time Deebo (who may resign in 2026) and Jennings leave in two years.
All mustaches are worthy of love and appreciation
