  • I loved every second of this conversation with Hoda Kotb.
We all struggle to give up on the paradigm of "best life now." But just for today, let's choose to love reality (or at least acknowledge it!) Instead.

Oh, Kate you are my hero! I somehow missed this interview, even though I watch parts of the Today show every morning. As usual, you both made me cry and laugh. As someone who lives with chronic illness, I LOVE your podcast and your books and often recommend them to others through my blog and UA-cam channel. I was hooked from the moment I saw your logo for Everything Happens with "For a Reason" crossed out because of all the horrible things people say, that is one that my husband and I laugh at the most (that and "God never gives you more than you can handle" - insert eye roll). Thank you, thank you, thank you from all of us suffering with chronic conditions for speaking directly to us and giving it to us straight.

I love you so much and listen to your podcast all the time. My mother took her life when I was 9 years old and the TRAUMA was truly like a MAC Truck. I suffered for years, self medicated and at the same time I was able to overcome so many nights and days crying by myself, curled up in the fetal position in my closet. My life experience had come from such a backyard timeline. I started out with such a devastating blow to my heart, that I lived with a vengeance. I literally had nothing more to lose. But oh I did. My brother who I raised was killed by a drunk driver 10 years after my mother left this earth. There is so much I have learned and my life so very full. I really landed the lottery. It is just so unbelievable how I made the most of everything. Love to you always
