I am relieved that my tri bike is covered once in this list :-). As some other commentors stated, most pro ride what their sponsors provide. Interestingly, the "official" Ventum does not make it to the higher ranks. It is also interesting to distinguish frames and wheelsets. Some more ideas what to present: - Fastest bikes of age-group winners - CdA values of the pros (I assume most of them have been in the velodrome or windtunnel) to see how the overall package athlete - bike works
Agreed @clyde! Love GTN’s content but this video was definitely more about the strongest cyclist. A good tech review would be to run various bikes in the same conditions at the same power.
Love this techy bike stuff. Besides the fact that results are all over the place brand-wise, what I do notice is that the almost all of them have “fairings”. Either at the front, with integrated drink bottles, or behind the seatpost, with either a drinkpouch or storage box. I think this gives slices the wind at the front, and smooths it at the back. Furthermore, it increaces surface area, and acts as a sail during crosswinds & smaller wind angles. Really interesting stuff here.
They are all claiming they are the most “Fastest” bike, its not about the bike its about the rider, but if you have the money then you can have the bling.
Some Blinging bikes there Mark..... surprised to see no specicalized bikes going super fast with the men....🤔 is it fair to say more more non disc break bikes going faster ??? I like the Scott Plazma the best!!!!
Info about Teresa not quite correct. She was on a P2 not a P3, and she does have a bike sponsor as part of her membership of Pewag (Storck) they weren't able to get her a bike in time.
Its weird almost every picture of the triathlete and bike , the rider has not got shoecovers. The shoe covers make more of a difference to overall time than the frame. Everyone has all the All the gear but no idea
Bahrain „slightly“ short? It was 3.5k short last time, not much to agree or disagree with :) just the fact, and I rode myself a 1h55m (fastest AG bike split)
I also rode the P5X for a number of years. Fantastic bike! I think it’s fair to say, they were both quite bold designs, and quite different to the norm. People don’t like change, hence there being a lot of chatter when they were released. To be clear, they are both great bikes. I can vouch for that on the P5X front
Calling this video fastest bikes is simply wrong and a click bait. The wattage gap between top bikes is completely irrelevant compare to the difference between the athletes. Next time, do the homework, which certainly require more time, and dig wind tunnel results for all those bikes.
I did say a good few times that the athletes have a HUGE part to play, but heck it was fun! Good luck on finding all the relevant wind tunnel data per bike that you can cross reference...
Bikes that are used under UCI rules, such as the Tour de France, have restrictions to bike weight & design. In triathlon there is not the same restrictions.
Is this a sponsored video? This is useless information unless it is to demonstrate how strong these triathletes are on the bike. It has nothing to to do with bikes and the title is deceiving. It would be nice to have a video that actually feature triathlon bike technology and their advantages based on current standards. Because in reality, if a guy push 400W on an old aluminum road bike and another guy has an FTP of say 250W. Then we will have a very different race even if the guy is riding a hyper bike fully covered in aero gear.
Wait... you say the top ladies time, Teresa Adam's time was from Ironman Western Australia, but then your picture is her winning Ironman New Zealand 2020. You got the right athlete, but the wrong winning image! Come on GTN... If you're going to use images of athletes.. at least use them from the race that you're commenting on!!
Unfortunately we can’t get images from every race, but we have done our research correctly. In a couple of cases we have used additional photos from other races for viewer interest. I hope you understand
Starky came past me in Texas like I was standing still....it was something special to see
Summary: it doesn’t matter what bike it is as long as it’s expensive 🤷🏻♂️
That’s the tip my bike shop told me!
Great video! Some absolute weapons 💨 I consider my Ribble Ultrai Tri pretty fast... Shame about the bloke riding it though 😂
Good video. I love all of your videos!
Nice vid really enjoyed it! Good stuff!🐐💯
Very impressive and innovative useful speed machine technology review....!
Congratulations Mark! You finally pronounced Pinarello Bolide the way it's supposed to sound. Now people can stop harassing you about it 😃
Awesome video 😀

Just when I was thinking what about the women's bikes, it showed up on the screen. Thanks for including both.
Thanks for another great video! :)
sounds like the fastest cyclists not the fastest bikes
Yeah but the sponsor money comes for the bike so bikes

Some good research there Mark! Cheers
Easy to use and clean. Very convenient.
6th in the mens is a nice addition, but in case its this doper, it's well worth skipping
Hey GTN-- have some fun with the GCN folks and see if Nigel and sneak some GTN kit into a cameo appearance! Stirring the lockdown pot...

Quintana Roo PRSix Disc in the hooouse!
Some Blinging bikes there Mark..... surprised to see no specicalized bikes going super fast with the men....🤔 is it fair to say more more non disc break bikes going faster ??? I like the Scott Plazma the best!!!!
It's not about the bike.
Do a new one of these, please
Every bike now will be disc, including the new Scott Plasma 6 disc...(review it soon?)
How many times can you say Canyon Speedmax 😂

Teresa was on a 5 spoke, not 4 spoke Xentis ;)
Hello do you offer chinese tt bikes from aliexpress?
so the fastest bikes are whatever Cam Wurf and Starky are riding ..... the legs are more important than the pedal
If the bike rule is to be thrown into the gutter, those bikes would not make the list as velomobiles will take all their place
The fastest Bikes Are in your legs
Its weird almost every picture of the triathlete and bike , the rider has not got shoecovers. The shoe covers make more of a difference to overall time than the frame. Everyone has all the All the gear but no idea
Pros ride these bikes cause they're paid for. Not because they're faster bikes.
Where’s Reggie?!!!!!!! We want more Reggie!!!!!!!
9:52 - 4 hours, 36 min and 39 min... adds up to 5h15 then ;-)
Haha sorry...I knew I did it at the time...just hoped nobody would notice. I was waiting for a comment 😂
So those weird looking, crazy beam designs are not even the fastest bikes? (Or used by the fastest riders, depends how you look at it)
wow so former dopers can make it too to your list...
Bahrain „slightly“ short? It was 3.5k short last time, not much to agree or disagree with :) just the fact, and I rode myself a 1h55m (fastest AG bike split)
can't see any pro riding Giant Trinity these days.
The Andean would decide so much opinion if it weren’t a fraud as fastest bike.
why do you say the DB Andean3 is so divisive? I own one, and a P5X, and have ridden the FELT1A and the Andean3 is by FAR my fav bike
I also rode the P5X for a number of years. Fantastic bike! I think it’s fair to say, they were both quite bold designs, and quite different to the norm. So you're rich rich

Why are triathlon bikes so different looking to say Tour de France bikes?
Bikes that are used under UCI rules, such as the Tour de France, have restrictions to bike weight & design. In triathlon there is not the same restrictions.
@@gtn Thanks for replying - makes sense
How did you forget the Diamondback Andean????
It featured. Are you a fan?
Mark Threlfall my bad, had to watch it again, seems like i missed it 😅 and im
a big fan yes :-) know him in person and its an incredible bike.
Non ITU triathlons which allow recumbents and velomobiles can be faster and cheaper
Times and wheels, not the bikes
sorry, but the pure bike split says nothing about the quality of the bike ...
Mark redefine the concept of TMI. to many numbers, people and disk wheels
I warned you it was a geek show. Gotta keep up Yair, gotta keep up
@@markthrelfall3577 I probably missed the disclaimer. cheers mate
too much stats on the player, not enough details on the bikes ...

Its pronounced 'Kintana Roo'
Ok thanks. I actually spoke to the guys at Quintana Roo in Kona, and they pronounced it the same way to me. I’m not sure either is wrong
@@markthrelfall3577 Its a state in Mexico, thats how they would pronounce it anyhow
