I slept in mine the other week just fine, I like that the bugnet has double runners but the cloth itself is only a singleskin so at the moment my Overmont is my go-to.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner not got theirs yet, next is probably a Solognac but I need to be sure my pod mod will work with that, they have a mat holder and my pod will cover the camo up so not 100% on if it's worth buying just because I want the tarp and it matches lol. 👍 Currently replying from my OM but the pod is tucked away inside one of the stuffsacks and performing duty as a pillow instead :-D
I think you got a bad hammock. I've had this hammock for a couple of years and it has worked very well when hammock camping. It hangs well, the netting isn't in my face, and I haven't noticed a bad calf ridge. I didn't realize it had loops for a ridgeline until I watched your video. Mine didn't come with a cord. Currently in the market for a longer hammock as this one is a bit small for me. I will check out some of the products you recommend!
Yeah it's probably a manufacturing defect. It's good you got on with it ok though 👍 I don't know about you but I do like a 'double' hammock - I like the space to move.
I agree I've had this 2 years now been out plenty times in it and I prefer this hammock over my DD frontline hammock. The covacure is more spacious and the net does not touch my face either .
@@Stuart117 I'm not a fan of DD hammocks, they're small and slippery. I love Overmont ones though. In comparison to the Overmont hammocks this Covacure isn't good.

Oh wow ! I've found a video where the Covacure Hammock has been criticised. Now I have to weigh it up, 99% positive and this one negative ? Hmmmmmm Is it down to the user ?
You're right it doesn't. I've talked about my experience with the product, which is what my review is about. Then you've come at me with a somewhat condescending comment and I've responded with another possible explanation. Yes, sometimes things are down to user error, and yes sometimes I make them 😀 But as you can see in the video, there is a gather in a fabric. Also, that net is way too low with no option to get it higher - and that is indeed mentioned in other reviews.
@@MoreThanJustaCleaner Oh...... My comments were condescending ? I'm sorry if that's how you've taken it ? A little defensive ? Posting a video on youtube requires the poster to have thick skin. Don't take it all to heart.
@@onahi2002 Not taken to heart. Coming out with fake stats and inferring I'm some kind of fool just because I disagree with the masses, well what kind of response would you expect?
One thing I've noticed with budget bunched-end hammocks (I have 4 and 3 are identical size and design) is the calf ridge can vary quite a bit and I've been lucky that none of mine are as bad as that one. You could try using a structural ridge line to lessen the ridge but I'm not sure it would solve it well enough as it does look very pronounced.
I was only thinking today that I hadn't heard from you in a while :) How's tricks? I've never had this happen as I say, so it was a complete surprise. And the straps are dreadful! That Unigear one I used instead has been the best budget one I've tried and going up in price I totally favour Overmont hammocks.
@@justvin7214 they are pretty awesome. I've got 3😳 2 are open top ones (single and double) and one (double) has a net. They're well made, strong, comfortable and no sliding when in it👍😊
Finally found a budget hammock you couldn't sleep in! Dedication to the cause.
Ha! Yup - this one got me! Oddly enough watching it back I was expecting to maybe see something I'd done wrong. But no! It's just bad.
@@MoreThanJustaCleanerhow does this compare to the comfort hammock from decathlon?
@@anonymous4201 I wouldn't know, I've never used a Decathlon hammock, sorry 🤷♂️👍
I love mine. Its well made, and a genuine bargain. Very comfortable, slept in it last night 🙂👍
I'm glad yours is ok 👍😁

I much prefer Overmonts! Having said that, the Unigear is amazingly comfortable!

Nice video. Btw what days do you normally upload or is it just a random schedule.
My normal schedule is-
Mondays - How to/Tips
Tuesday - Reviews
Thursday - Geocaching
Friday - Outings (camping/kayaking/walks)
Cheers

I'll be keeping my DD hammocks

My Covacure hammock is the same design as yours, but mine is a good one. Seems like you were unlucky..
