Can’t remember where, probably in the guide that came with my DD hammock or tree huggers, but it definitely said not to use the huggers like you did in the second method, where you just passed the hugger through one loop, and used the other loop for the “beener , so the weight is concentrated on one strand, not two. Doing it that way means you are effectively halving the maximum weight limit! Just got into hammocks myself, I love the fact you can camp on any ground, stones slopes, doesn’t matter, that used to be my greatest problem, nearly everywhere local, seems to be either on a slope or stony!☹️. I forked out for the Frontline XL, brilliant, so roomy, but just got an ENO double (better for diagonal and side sleeping), as it is much, much lighter than my XL. Just very luckily managed to get a Caribou skin for only £50, on eBay, going to try that instead of my under quilt, when it gets near freezing, heavy, at 1.75 kg, but no mosquitoes at that time of year, so I can use my lighter hammock.😀
There should be small loops at either end on the inside of the hammock, they allow you to run a length of shock cord from one end to the other to help keep the bug net up away from you. Nice informative video👍
Mine arrived today. Been spending a lot of time recently watching and photographing the night sky. Was getting stiff neck from looking up constantly. Thought I'd try one out. I'm Very impressed. You're modifications are actually a fantastic addition. Cheers xxxx
Going out in mine tomorrow doing a solo wildcamping on a budget hammock and tarp video using all basic gear. Oh it's in priatve woods to so no worries about lockdown. Hope you enjoy it. Also be a bit about drip lines and hammock camping in the rain two as water can run down and get hammocks wet even under a tarp.
@@lector3332 Thank you for the reply. I am currently shielding but didn't stop me from heading into the garden tonight to test it out. Surprised at how easy it was to get set up and actually how comfortable it is. The net is a nice addition. Thanks for the tip, I have 100 ft of Para cord on its way So a few inches will be tucked away in the hammock's bag. Just in the process of putting a bush craft/Bug out/ Solo camping bag. Multi purpose. You never know when you might just have to grab and go, especially the state the world is in. Any recommendations for a tarp? Hopfully there will be a video to follow? Have a nice time, Lucky you have access to private woods. I would be making the most of it too if I was you! All the best, Speak soon!
The tarp is a easy one it's the DD 3x3 as with tarps can be made in to a shelter to . Good strong tie down points to I have the 3x3 and 4x4 little bit more money but only have to buy once as very good prepareforadventure.co.uk/products/dd-tarp-3x3m . £33
Hi there! This a great review but I was just wondering where you bought your whoopie slings from. I’ve looked at a few but I’m not sure what’s good and what’s not. Could you give any recommendations or a link to the exact ones in the video on where to buy them? Cheers :)
Great vlog, thankyou. Just bought one of these from amazon as the reviews were good, just getting into hammock camping, thankyou for your help. Just subscribed to your channel.
Have you tried the one tigress kompound hammock? I bought this one as a tester while I wait for the onetigris to be delivered. Nice vid and good info on the hammock and also the woopie slings thank you 👍
How do you find your Dutch “softie” jacket in cold weather, do you think it’s warmer than a normal anorak of the same thickness? I’ve been eyeing them up for a while now, I like the look of them, they don’t look overly military, so it can be worn in more scenarios. What size is yours, I’m quite big compared to you, not sure what size to go for, I might wait till I can get down to Ormskirk to try them on, there isn’t any decent surplus shops near me (Lancaster), apart from one very overpriced one in Morecambe, with very limited stock.
🔥 thanks this video is just what i needed to get my Conacure Hammock. Now im gonna be a hammock camper.🔥
Thanks! Never really understood hammocks, now I am much more enlightened. Good work!
They are the best thing since sliced bread. Sleep in a hammock and tarp and you will never go back to ground again
Cheers mate, sold. Subbed😊

I've seen some scary ways two to set up two. Just yesterday someone just put round tree no cross and just put carabea on
Amazing video thank you so much I just ordered this hammock for my camping trip
Thanks, interesting..
Thank you for your thorough review....just ordered one! 😎👍

Yeah my bug net does not stay up like that and I haven't figured out how to run a sideline. Pretty annoying for an otherwise nice hammock.
In side the hammock is two thin black loops tyed a bit of elastic to mine to stop the net droping hope this helps
@@lector3332 tried that but doesn’t do much

Thank you for useful information regarding this hammock, I ordered one from amazon ;-). Keep on the good work!
Still use 'cheapy' hammocks even now for my hammock camping, always do the job more then nicely for me.
I still use it over my full dd setup
Awesome

Thank you hope you enjoy it
Could you do this again but with a tarp setup?
Trying mine for the first time tonight. :)
Hope you enjoy it
Worked well although the underquilt was a faff. Rained most of the night so noisy, but hey ho. Thanks for the help via your videos. 😊
@@paulrichmond3348 are you going to try it again
@@lector3332 definitely, I'll be on the look out for that good spot from now on. :)
@@lector3332 it's also easier for me to dry a tarp than a whole tent.
👍
Nice vid thanks I’ve just got one of those really nice but there’s too much bug net which I can’t keep off my face maybe try a proper ridge line ?
I tyed a long bit of elastic in to pull it away from my face works a dream
@@lector3332 it did come with some elastic only had it up once I’ll play around with it. Thanks.

No I have not went straight to DD gear after I knew I liked hammock and tarp camping
