I've been falling out of love with Genshin for awhile now, but 2.2 really put the nail in the coffin for me. I do hope that one day Genshin will be as good as HSR, the players deserve it.
I have mixed feeling for Sunday through the story.. he just a warm hearted man with wrong childhood education. He's been a puppet for too long, it's not Robin who was in the cage but him, he let his sister fly but he have to be in the cage. I hate him for his wrong doing but all of that has a humanic(?) reason
I think that this quest was a total mess and a really unsatisfying ending . I felt like every possible plot was dropped or put in for no reason . Like , can someone explain to me what boothill did in the entire quest ? He came in hunting acheron , exchanges 3 words with her and they became buddies , then he shots a bullet to summon galaxy rangers that are supposed to have more will power than supposedly million of people trapped in dream but ends up summoning 4 of them we didnt even see ? Firefly is another character that did nothing , after being revealed as sam all she ends up doing is walking with us for half a quest . then going on another date with trailblazer and then disspears only to later tell us that it was actually her that saved everyone without giving even a single glimpse on how she did it or even some last goodbye since she supposedly died for real , not that it matters since it looks like all these talks in 2.1 about aventurin being dead or not have no meaning now since it turns out he s still there without a single scratch . And what was the reason of teasing constance in 2.1 if she didnt even appear in this patch ? there of course other stuff like , misha turning out to be the the person we needed to meet to give trailblazer a new path since apperantly him getting a hat of some random guy was enough to recieve favor of another aeon , something unto death being complitely dropped in this quest despite being the main danger of 2 previous quests , dreammaster who is supposed to be big mastermind behind all this and the guy who made sunday a bad guy doesnt even get shown and doesnt even exist outside of 2 or 3 dialogue s he s in . And can someone explain to me how exactly was xiangzou able to go into the dream with all 10000 of their ships , one shot fake boss fight and then just leave despite reality already being a part of dream ?
My main problems were: 1. The burial relic Boothill used was the most Deus ex Machina thing I have encountered thus far in hoyo games. 2. The HORRIBLY overblown dialogue. 3. Acheron part of the story cutting in from time to time, not really bringing anything to it like, "Bi***, I don't care how cool it was to taste raspberry snow, WE HAVE A SITUATION AT HAND". 4. And Dreammaster being the most nothing burger of an antagonist in all of existance. There is a bunch of other things like Sparkle being close to useless throught the story, or a copious amount of fake deaths. But like... yeah I have no will to say anything more.
I still dont understand what is the meaning of Tiernan being the guy that acheron was talking with. This whole story brought nothing into the plot. It felt so forced only as a way to justify why acheron even appeared on penacony ( yet i still dont really understand why she came here , was it just to give this special bullet to some galaxy ranger and help nameless becuase the guy was a nameless ? ). And now this is second planet in a row that ends in a brainless cliffhanger , just like xiangzou ended with reveal that loucha was the real bad guy ( despite having 10 minutes of screentime and no plot relevance what so ever ) , now penacony ends with boothill suddenly wanting to find some never before mentioned guy despite coming to penacony for some complitely different reason
