Thanks for the video. At every game I was hoping the next would be Silksong... I already have Wizzard with a Gun, Nine Sols and Hades II in my wishlist.
Yo Clemmy (and y’all)! I was going through my usual routine of digging through everyone’s favorite trash heap (AKA the steam store), looking for some decent 2D games, and I found one that I’ve never heard of. This game is so unbelievably good, that if it was released during the time of the SNES/Genesis era, we’d be talking about it in the same breath as Yoshi’s Island, and Sonic the Hedgehog! The name of it is “Mystic Melee”, and I have to ask if I’m the only one who missed it when it released in 2017?
Speaking of originality and great concepts, if there any indie developers or AA Developers reading this comment section, don't make a MMO rpg, or a Stardew Valley/cozy farming sim, or mascot horror, or open world, or metroid-vania, or deck-building, or rouge-like (especially Vampire Survivors ones) as your first indie game. Instead, try remaking games or make a knock-off version of a game like pac man, snake, angry birds, tetris, or better, make a fan game of Fnaf, Sonic, or Dark Deception. Start something small, then build your way up to improve your creativity, 2-d/3-d modeling, coding, and texture skills.
Wow, when El Doritos said "cozy farm sim", I burst out laughing. I don't know when you started using El Doritos for this gag, it's the first time* I saw it in your channel and it was unexpected. *Been busy reading Ramsey Campbell, playing Oninaki (finished a couple hours ago), and watching Georgia Pranksters videos. I will catch up with your channel this weekend.
I mean, Supergiant Games don't fuck around, so... Seriously, they've never made a less than amazing game from what I've seen: Bastion Transistor Pyre Hades
My old ass recognized Jet Set Bomb Rush IMMEDIATELY lol. Wishlisted Alien Hominid,Tevi, The Plucky Square(my goodness) and the last 8 games, being #4 - 1 are MUST HAVES. Very strong list today :)
been waiting for the last faith and gestalt for years although still not as long a wait as silksong lol! anyway also looking forward to mika and the witch's mountain, tevi and blasphemous 2.
Hammerwatch II - One of my Top Most Anticipated releases for fun dungeon-crawling with friends. One of the best formulas out there. The Siege & The Sandfox - "Stealth-Vania" looks hugely fun, reminds me a little of Team-17's old Assassin game with the hanging on things to slip past the enemies. Great pixel look too! Sea of Stars - looks like an epic game to savour: Story, JRPG etc These are my Top 3. But a close call! I'd love to see a game mix Jet-Set-Radio + Graffiti Painting mechanic together... Miika And The Witch's Mountain - just makes you want to watch Kiki's Delivery Service all over again. More cozy than a tea-cozy and some cake, at granny's! A well deserved 4th. The Last Faith - Gothic goodness in the name of Castlevania. Hard to argue with that. Very good art. Top 5.
I was excited about Gesalt for the past half a decade, but the demo of it was pretty underwhelming. Really stiff controls, and slow movement speed. I wasn't vibing on it much.
bomb rush cyberfunk... is the 2023 jet set radio?? i may give it a try. mika and the witch's mountain. the plucky squire all else skip. you know bro ... i'm looking for the day i end up saying "i'll try all of them" ... but that would be a problem for 2 reasons .. 1- i'm mostly a fan of 3D games ... and most of the indie scene is made of 2D or isomertic stuff and perfecting those is not easy at all. 2- ..... if i were to "try all of them" ... i'll need some really long time periods! i grew up as a 3D worlds fan, i barely played any 2D scrollers, let alone platformers, and the more the world keeps worshiping "difficult trash, and disgusting rogue lights / likes, and whatnot" and keeps ATTACKING PERSONALLY everyone who dares to hate these extreme niche genres.. the more hatred and disgust i'll only grow for them. besides not "every single 3D game" is my thing either. i'm glad to be extremely picky about my games.. otherwise i would have given up my own taste and personality long ago..
Gestalt, that suprised me really much, but I believe it felt so good playing it. Gunbrella also suprisingly cool right away. Already followed Moonstone Island as well, seems to be a great list. Oh yes Plucky Squire, surely a great list. I planned on avoiding that but Pepper grinder get's on the List, as well as Creature Keeper. Sea of Stars was cool, just the demo made me wary.
At this point I really think Nine Sols is getting delayed. I really hope not but I think so which pisses me off because I’ve been waiting for this game. If the Last Faith does come out I’m gonna 😂 so hard because this will prove their incompetence. The fact that Blasphemous 2 is ready is gonna release before that game is just 🤯
Two games that I’m looking forward to releasing this year are Back to the Dawn and Pacific Drive. I played BttD demo and it was a lot of fun.
Blasphemous 2 and The Last Faith are definitely my highlights for this year.
Just recently beat Blasphemous 1... I can't wait to get my hands on Part 2.
Thanks for the video.
At every game I was hoping the next would be Silksong...
I already have Wizzard with a Gun, Nine Sols and Hades II in my wishlist.
This is a crazy list! I can't remember adding so many titles to my wish list from one video!! Thanks Clemmy 😊
I'm noticing a pattern, every time I watch a best indie games video I load up steam and my wishlist grows.

Tbh in the last years i am way more interested in indie games than AAA ones.Indie ones have much more originality and great concepts.
Indies are all im playing atm (battlebit, Binding of Isaac and Dredge)

Thanks for highlighting all these great indie games!
You’re welcome! Thank you for the support
Gestalt - Europa - Squire - Blasphemous 2 (already preordered) - Sea Of Stars (kickstarted from the begening)
Looking forward to Gunbrella, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, and Nine Sols!
The Siege and the Sandfox looks great
Nine Sols demo is HARD AF!!! It's very Sekior-like. If you cant time parrying, you're screwed.
mmhmm

I need Sea of Stars.
Yeah, there are other great titles, but jRPG - that's what I need.
Fantastic video Clemmy
I've finally moved back to Canada from Australia and have a gamer boyfriend so super keen to hit up all these titles
Well that does it... Im deleting my credit cards and unplugging my internet. Nice knowing y'all. 😂
the umbrella in gunbrella is the same as one of the older Celeste modded maps , could even be the same developer who made it. was a few years ago now.
Looking forward to cookie cutter that looks like fun
Hades II just looks so gorgeous and polished...
I mean, Supergiant Games don't fuck around, so...
Seriously, they've never made a less than amazing game from what I've seen:
Bastion
Transistor
Pyre
Hades
I'm so happy world of horror is alive and well!
Oh my gosh Mineko! I’m so glad this game is still being made. I can’t wait for it.
My old ass recognized Jet Set Bomb Rush IMMEDIATELY lol. Wishlisted Alien Hominid,Tevi, The Plucky Square(my goodness) and the last 8 games, being #4 - 1 are MUST HAVES. Very strong list today :)
When will pizza tower expected to come to consoles?
I played Nine Sols demo and was really impressed by it, I really can't wait for this release

No silksong?
Where is the first half?

I don't think Last Faith will ever come out...
I am in love with this channel, the way everything is explained really clearly, no obvious biases, and quality content!
Love the formula!!
The guy clearly prefers metroidvanias/jrpgs.
@@noobestofdamalland card defense games lol
"The year has not been kind to metroidvanias so far."
More people need to play Afterimage.
Lots of them already on my Wishlist. Cant wait for The plucky squire, Nine sols and Sea of stars.
I think it's going to be moved to 2024, but if not I'd certainly have Eiyuden Chronicle on this list.
Pepper Grinder is delayed to 2024.
Yeah that just got announced
Hadès 2 in 2023 ???!
Gestalt, that suprised me really much, but I believe it felt so good playing it.

A very beautiful list, a good number of games to look forward to, thank you very much 🙏
Last Faith and Blasphemous 2, I've been waiting for them
Hammerwatch and Sandwalkers are looking lit!
Damn so much stuff vaught my eye, thx again for this amazing content
Hades 2 is not coming out this year unfortunately :(
Still hoping for more news on OPUS: Prism Peak.
I'm really looking forward to wandering sword
I am really stoked that Siege & The Sandfox finally has some updates too! That one looks right in my wheelhouse.
