It isn't Lux. The name drop of "Dr. Revek" was to reveal that he is the father of Orianna. In the original lore, it was never said that Singed and Dr. Revek were the same person. The show made that Canon.
@@GyhcdhbJotghlbcw Yeah, they now want Arcane as main canon, which could be good or bad depending on what they did because Dr. Revek exists in a canon spin-off game, and he's not Singed. Also, the game is also already changing the lore of several champions, one of them being extremely important to the origin of Hextech, but this champion has changed extremely and no longer has a connection with Hextach, so now the show or Riot needs to give it a new origin.
I think they may be related, but I don't think Dr. Reveck and Corin Reveck are the same person, Corin's backstory is completely different to Dr. Reveck's. Corin made artificial limbs and organs for Orianna as they were decaying due to the smog from the fissures. so when we saw Dr. Reveck's daughter she should have been covered in mechanical parts. It wasn't all done at the same time after she died, in fact Orianna never died. There is a chance Orianna was another of Dr. Reveck's daughters, born after Orianna left, which may explain it.
@@oliviaviaviavia I imagine they plan to change the lore for Orianna similar to Jayce, Viktor, Ekko, Warwick, etc. Don't have enough time in Arcane for it but I'd imagine based on the lore, Ambessa will take the place of Emystan and take Singed to Ionia while Singed leaves Orianna with Viktor who'll build a mechanical body for her.
@@oliviaviaviavia given how they directly changed the lore of many others, I think they straight up erased Corin Reveck as its own character and merged it with Singed, especially since many other Champs have their lore significally changed by Arcane, should it be the real canon, like Camille, Ekko, Renata, Blitzcrank and others... most likely the Arcane's writers made the show its own thing and Riot just decided to make it the main canon out of pure popularity, it would not be the first time they fucked the lore up just for chasing what's more popular with the fanbase...

When Cait reacted to that line, I think its more of a nod of her realizing how far she's gone to avenge her mother, and how she has been doing terrible things because of how much she loved her mother -- including breaking up with Vi because her actions were going too far.

He also has scars on his cheek from where Vander/Warwick scratched him during the years of experimenting. Though that's more detailed in a LoL story post and only alluded to in one scene in S1E8.
@@christianschmid1440 I think it's because he wasn't really a major character at that point so we had little reason to think it was significant when they panned to him during the explosion. Most people probably thought that guy was just dead and that his later appearances was a different person.
As Vander, his death tore two sisters apart. As Warwick, he brought them back together. Such beautiful writing. That scene makes me tear up every time.
I see it as a full circle. His death lead to Vi blaming Powder, calling her Jinx. They came apart. But when he turns out to be alive, Vo reflects on everything. How she needlessly blames her sister for Vander being captured abd getting killed in the process. She finally asks Jinx for forgiveness, even if not directly, and they come together the same moment they both realise the thing that brought them apart didn't happen
I love it when plot devices have more than one reason for being used. Vi’s black hair isn’t only for her character change or what happened with Caitlyn. It’s the reason Vander doesn’t recognize her until she calls his name and he hears her voice. ❤️

I never expected Silco to have been friends with Vander and Jinx and Vi's mom, it puts them both raising the sisters in a new light. And I love that Vander gave Vi her name.
As much as I love that scene in context, I can't shake the fact that it seems to create massive problems with regards to Silco's behaviour towards Vi and Powder in Season 1. Unless there's still some other breadcrumbs about Silco, Vander and Felicia's past that haven't been revealed yet, Silco should have either personally known, or at least deduced who the girls were when they tried to rescue Vander but he did not appear to.
@@nrgspike Yeah, it makes him pretty reprehensible, either way (which we knew already, I guess.) The only thing that makes sense is that he pretended not to know who they were when they met at the factory, because obviously he was in the middle of carrying out evil plans and had no time to be be like - hey, I knew your mom! And also I'm kind of a god father to you both? Kay, anyways, gonna kill you, now! It makes sense that it wouldn't have come up in their limited screen time together, but proves how horrible he was, because he was clearly willing to kill them without much thought simply because he could use them against Vander and to further his goals of Zaun (somehow...) I think it still works, story-wise, just shows how far gone he was from the man Vander knew.
The hug between Vander and them at the end really made me teary-eyed. The game always hinted at the fact that Warwick would never hurt kids because he has these fractured memories of two little girls. And there are lines in the game where he recognizes Jinx and Vi The way Arcane portrayed him, especially here, broke me.
Just as a quick note, Singed (Dr Reveck) wasn't scarred by whatever happened to his daughter. We see him in the first 3 episodes of season 1, before he looked like that (he's the guy developping Shimmer for Silco). He got these scars when his lab exploded after Powder set off her monkey bomb in season 1 episode 3.
Just saw a detail pointed out that; during Vi's fights, when people are holding up the red cards to bet on Vi. The central one was being held by Jinx. It's her fingerless gloves and blue nails. So she was watching the fights and rooting for her sister.

I never tought about that but another difference between Mel and Ambessa is that Mel doesn't consider Elora as a "counselor" or "assistent". She says they killed "my FRIEND" which is so sweet

(Spoilers for episode 6 of season 2 ahead) I mean just look at the moment in episode 6 when Ambessa saw Rictus’ dead body and saw that Caitlyn had betrayed her, the face of pure disbelief, then sadness/anguish and then anger was one of the most heartbreaking faces in the whole show, Rictus was her right hand and comrade/friend of many years and despite their confrontations her relationship with Caitlyn obviously grew close, she even inviter Caitlyn into her warship and personally trained her, that moment really showed that Ambessa is an antagonist, not a villain.
I'm not entirely convinced Elora is dead yet. Just because Mel's captor enjoys using illusions to torment and illicit responses from her, its entirely possible that they fabricated killing Elora in front of Mel to traumatize her. That said, technically it did happen *on screen* so its possible that she did die, because she is merely a side character and they don't always have the most significant deaths.
Vander’s apology letter to Silco is the same message that both Vi and Jinx want to say to each other. Vi even turns around and reaches to Jinx but stops herself. In that moment, she had one gauntlet off, whereas with Caitlyn, when she was at her most vulnerable, she dropped both gauntlets off. Vi even looks at Jinx while they walk as though she wants to say something but is afraid to. Like she has one more wall holding herself back.
Weird how this season only had five episodes, huh? And how the Caitlyn stuff isn't resolved. Oh well, I'm just glad it ended on such a happy note. *copium flow at max power.*
I was also thinking it might have been because Singed had some gizmo in his hand she couldn't see, and was clearly fiddling with it. So some of that might have been a response to possible danger.

So this episode was very important for a lore clean-up for League of Legends, where they have now confirmed Singed and a scientist named Corin Reveck are one and the same person. Reveck's daughter in League's lore is Orianna, thus confirming Singed's preserved daughter here in Arcane to be Orianna.

Knowing that Vander and Silco raised Felicia’s daughters it made me cried. They tried to make the Zaun they hoped to create but after she died, their whole world just collapsed and their friendship shattered. If Silco had found that letter things would have been so different and there could’ve been reconciliation.
I learnt from tv tropes that there’s an implication that silco escalating things during the riots might have led to the death of Felicia and connol. Just like how powder intervening when she didn’t need to killed milo and claggor.

Hi there! You must have forgotten: Singed got his face burned when all the shimmer went up in the lab during Powder's bombing of Silco's hangout. In episode one you can see him with his non-burned face when he is testing the shimmer on the mouse.
(Identity of Singed's daughter, not yet revealed in the show but we can gather from league lore) Its Orianna, the robot ballerina girl. They retconned how she died, but its almost certain she is his daughter. She looks almost identical to her, and in Orianna's lore she is brought back to "life" by her scientist father who makes her into a robot. Also lil fun tidbit. Remember the Axolotl thing from season 1? The "Mutation must survive" creature? Yeah that was named Rio, likely a reference to "Ori", a nickname for his daughter.
Yeah, apparently there's this heated debate about CaitVi vs Violyn 😂 The reason CaitVi is considered the correct one is because LoL players have been shiping these two since 2012, when Vi was released as a champion. Back then we didn't know Vi's full name was Violet, thus CaitVi is the original ship name. I'm a LoL player myself, but I started playing actively until 2014, so I never went on the bandwagon of the ship. Caitlyn was one of my mains but I didn't really play Vi. And since Cait was older she had less dialogue and none refering to Vi, hence why I didn't know they were potentially a thing until Arcane. Vi did have dialogues related to Cait, the "Cupcake" comes from the game, but since I didn't play her I never actually realized. But obviously people were shiping them since Vi's release, because they are also Piltover's Finest Cop Duo. Now Cait was updated and she has more dialogue and more refering to Vi and all. Great visual update as well. But yeah Arcane just made me love Caitlyn so much more, to the point she is my favorite in the show, and also made me love Vi so much as well (I play her a bit more now haha). And I'm a HUGE CaitVi stan, I just love them ❤ But really in my case I don't mind which name is used, either CaitVi or Violyn is fine by me ❤ (Sorry for the long essay 😅)

That little scene from the past hit me so hard. Realizing that Jinx's hair is how it is because growing up Silco styled it for her after his own former self. How much Vander loved the girls mom even though it was kinda one sided, only to lose her in their war and then Silco too because of his grief. The creative team behind this show knows how to poke the angst and make it a good bittersweet delicacy
We are told that the place Mel was trapped in was meant to imprison "false prophets" and there was some weird puzzle in there, presumably to get out, a puzzle Mel was solving almost instinctively. I think that place is meant to be a test, like, "if you're a real prophet, you'll be able to get out" type of deal; I think Mel is a prophet, that's why the Black Rose wants her, and that's why they put her there, to test her.

It's exactly this scene that confirms a long held lore theory that Singed might be her father when Cait called him Dr.Revek. We knew her father's name from Orianna's back story , but there was no mention of her in Singed's back story. It's Arcane clearing that up right there. Btw - Lux is connected to Damacian lore - Orianna is a Piltover character. 22:25 Yes it's Black Rose stuff - LeBlanc (League champ from Noxus) is the other founder and matron of the BR - grand master of illusion , deception and mind control (visualized by the thorny chains here, I think). In lore she is ancient , seemingly immortal and one of the three major political players in Noxus. One of her famous in game voice lines is: "I'm everywhere , I'm everyone" . The flipping through the faces visualises that - the final incarnation is Mel's face with LeBlanc's face tattoo under her eyes. 23:20 People are currently speculating about her ability. It might be the golden armor like parts of her outfit representing an item from the game (Zhonja's Hourglass) that grants invulnerability for 3 secs. The other theory points to League champion Kindred's ultimate ability that does pretty much the same , but would have far more implications for the story because Kindred would become relevant to Arcane's story (they are Leagues figure of Death , depicted differently depending on the region of Leagues world Runeterra). Then again it could be Bard's ultimate as well - but him being a celestial god would be too leftfield in terms of Arcane imho. 26:17 Warwick heals himself by attacking opponents ingame - so this might be a key thing for Singed in Arcane
Given the "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" music video and the "Chosen of the Wolf" skin line in game, I think Mel's abilities being related to Kindred and protecting her from moments of certain death seems very likely. There are lots of debates about whether Ambessa herself or her unborn child in the music video is the one chosen by the Wolf of Kindred, and I think Mel supernaturally getting out of danger points to it being likely that she's the chosen one. Idk though, I'm assuming arc 3 will make things clearer in that regard.
@@dwell7315 I would agree on the basis that Kindred's ultimate is areal and protects everyone inside , which would explain why Jayce got off unharmed as well. Then again - it would point to Mel's whole story carrying over into a sequel series imho , because I can't imagine how the writers would implement Kindred's wolf form and their whole backstory into the last 3 episodes without convoluting the plot and confusing non League playing fans.
The fact Vander gave Violet her name! My heart!! ❤️ Although it makes what Silco planned to do with Vander and the kids even more evil. It’s shocking he was so wrapped up in his vision of Zaun that he was willing to kill Felicia’s children.
I'm starting to wonder if they've got 2 rigs for Caitlyn's character model like they do with Jinx. The animators have 2 seperate rigs for Jinx's face. One that looks more sharp and angry like Jinx, another that makes her look young and innocent like Powder. They switch inbetween rigs depending on which version of her is winning over the other in her mind. I could be wrong and it's just the animators being cool as shit (very high possibility), but kinda looks like they've done the same for Cait. One version for the loving Cait from S1, the other for the grief and hatred fueled Cait of S2. And she's starting to reclaim that part of herself.
After seeing her, you can tell that Silco braided and styled Jinx's hair to be like her mum. Also, I like how each father figure named one of her children. Vander with Violet and Silco with Jinx.
(Spoiler) 1-In the game, "Jinx Fixes Everything - Act Two", Jinx searches for where Vander might be, starting from "The Last Drop" (?), Vander's bar, which was passed on to Silco. All the information below comes from the game. 2-Silco has a very soft heart with those he loves, he, in his office, keeps 3 objects that he considers his treasure. One of them is Jinx's favorite music record (he kept it before meeting Vander's statue in the first season) 3-Vi and Jinx's mother's name is Felicia, the name is found in one of the notes that Silco keeps as a treasure. 4-Silco, have kept as one of his treasures, the photo of him, Felicia and Vander together. 5-Jinx discovered the location of Vander's Cave, from the tunnel diagram that Silco kept as a treasure. 6-Jinx gathered the courage to meet Vi before looking for Vander, because of her (Jinx) favorite music record , where she says that she, Vi and Vander always danced together. 7-Jinx built a new arm for Sevika, because as you may remember, in the last act of the game, Jinx builds the new arm from the pieces of the "playground" of Powder, Milo, Clagor and Vi. 8-(Note: Something I didn't tell you, Powder, even though she had a bad relationship with Milo, learned her picklocking skill from him) 9-I've been noticing, and doesn't Felicia look like Caitlyn? Vi dear, that's something Freud explains...
Ah yeah the final episode this season of Arcane was so good and super emotional. I’m really excited to see where Jayce goes and what he’ll do in the next season!
You know… to think Vi shouts Vander’s name and it sucks him into a memory that ends as he says Violet’s name. What a way to begin and end a memory, symbolizing her reaching out and him recognizing her! She was the missing half of his memory along with Powder to bring his humanity back.

something that i notice was at 6:12 was the jail cell we see. it could very possibly be the same one that vi was in. caitlyn’s face almost even makes it look like she recognizes or gets deja vu from it. could be a stretch, but feel like there was a small connection there
[I’m going add SPOILER WARNING here since I’m talking about potential spoiler content and non spoiler content mixed together] I love this episode so much because not only does it confirm Singed and Corin Reveck were combined into one but it confirms Reveck is still Orianna’s father AND it shows us how how Singed starts working for Noxus, supplying chemical weapons to be used against Ionia in their war leading to Swain losing his forearm causing him to graft Raum to his arm. This also teases LeBlanc and her ability to take the form of other people and using illusions. It also is shown when Mel slammed “Kino” into the wall, when the illusion took form of Mel she had the same triangular paint under her eyes that LeBlanc has. Lastly this episode kinda teases that whatever is happening might have ties to the Void (seen in the flash frame when Jayce sees Salo)
31:18 The three dots on the forehead in such manner is a reference to Malzahar, a character associated with the Void. So yeah, whatever the Arcane is producing, it's NOT good. Also, notice when they're in the Hextech reactor's chamber. You can see Jayce's breath and you could also see that Heimerdinger and Ekko had similar breath. Salo doesn't. Implying he might not even be alive or even human anymore.
As a League lore fan, I’ve spent years bracing myself for possible disappointment, thinking nothing could live up to Season 1. But here we are… THEY SURPASSED IT (in my opinion). I can’t even process what Act 3 is going to do to me emotionally... Arcane is pure art. From the heart-wrenching sister fight, to the jaw-dropping Vander/Felicia/Silco backstory, to the haunting silence of Isha calming Jinx in her chaos, to the deliquescence of Viktor and Jayce. It's all just perfection. A narrative that heals us before it destroys us. It’s storytelling at its finest. I deeply think I have never seen characters (especially female characters) written in such a way, with such depth, flaws, and raw realism. Massive respect to the French Studio Fortiche and Riot's writers, you’ve created one of the most breathtaking works of fiction EVER. Bravo!

Singed’s face is scarred because he was in Silco’s hideout when it exploded in season 1. He was making Shimmer in the basement, and the chain reaction of exploding Shimmer hit him basically full force.

Edit: And even more so, along with her rage, Vi needs to choose to stop her self destructive coping habits in front of Warwick, to fight until she wins or is defeated, or to give into love again and embrace what’s in front of her.

In season 1 when Jayce is on trial we are told that magic (the arcane) is something that you’re born with and not something you can create independently. I think that’s why this storyline with Mel is going to be significant. She’s got the Arcane in her as well.

In the end scene with Jayce: First, Jayce has a metal shoulder pad that looks a lot like what Viktor has in the game when he is Machine Herald When Jayce and Salo return to the world together, we can see Jayce's breath, but Salo isn't breathing. Jayce has a leg brace that looks similar to what Viktor wore in season one
For the Vander and Silco thing, there's also a split second where we see Silco throwing something that looks like it could easily be some kind of explosive. Maybe Silco didn't realize Felicia and Connol were there or would be effected by the blast until it was too late, he was just trying to help. Sounds a bit familiar, doesn't it
So it's practically confirmed that Singed's daughter is Orianna with what was seen in the episode right? and that his full name is Corin Reveck (according to wiki). I also found it curious that the wiki highlights a phrase of hers, which would be: "When a moth emerges from its chrysalis, does it remember its life as a caterpillar?" - Orianna
So, that name drop is a direct call out to another Piltover champion. Singed is never given a true name in his own lore, and Dr. Reveck is only mentioned in one story that doesn't concern Singed. In the old lore that may be different from Arcane's setup, Corin Reveck is the father of the champion Orianna. She was girl who died young and never got to fulfill her dreams of becoming a ballerina. Stricken with grief, Dr. Reveck built her a false, robotic body and tried to capture her mind and spirit inside it to give her a new chance at the life she missed out on. Arcane is now the first time where Singed is directly asserted to be Orianna's father.
I think the reason that everyone in Mel's life flashed through that "Not-Brother" moment is because her captors were drawing from her own memories to create the illusion of her brother. So when the spell got disrupted, it randomly flipped through all the other options that had been available in her mind

Reverek's Daughter is actually Orianna! So close on the Lux gues ahaha. Le Blanc is also the leader of the Black Rose (all of this is already canon lore in League :3) so i wouldn't be surprised if the voice at the end of Mel's scene there was Le Blanc. The power we see Mel using is likely connected to the Solari (same powers that Leona uses) and what protected her from the explosion in s1 is actually likely the item actually seen in League the Locket of the Iron Solari, which shields both you and any teammates close by a shield.
I think the mother was important to both Silco and Vander. Silco even did Jinx's hair, combining his young self's bangs with her mother's braid. Whatever Viktor did to Salo must have removed his soul, as Salo's breath wasn't visible when he was talking to Jayce, while Jayce's breath was clearly visible. The song playing in the mine has an interesting twist. The first time you hear it, the lyrics seem directed at Jinx with "little girl when you wake with a cold sweat all the hatred in your heart." However, I think the song references both Vi and Jinx, suggesting they should put their differences aside. The lines "Who are you and What have they done to us?" directly point out how Vander, Jinx, and Vi were torn apart from each other and then they finally came back together. The symbolism in this show is crazy good.

Also, the game is also already changing the lore of several champions, one of them being extremely important to the origin of Hextech, but this champion has changed extremely and no longer has a connection with Hextach, so now the show or Riot needs to give it a new origin.
I think they may be related, but I don't think Dr. Reveck and Corin Reveck are the same person, Corin's backstory is completely different to Dr. Reveck's. Corin made artificial limbs and organs for Orianna as they were decaying due to the smog from the fissures. so when we saw Dr. Reveck's daughter she should have been covered in mechanical parts. It wasn't all done at the same time after she died, in fact Orianna never died. There is a chance Orianna was another of Dr. Reveck's daughters, born after Orianna left, which may explain it.

@@christianschmid1440 I think it's because he wasn't really a major character at that point so we had little reason to think it was significant when they panned to him during the explosion. Most people probably thought that guy was just dead and that his later appearances was a different person.
As Vander, his death tore two sisters apart. As Warwick, he brought them back together. Such beautiful writing. That scene makes me tear up every time.

His death lead to Vi blaming Powder, calling her Jinx. They came apart.
But when he turns out to be alive, Vo reflects on everything. How she needlessly blames her sister for Vander being captured abd getting killed in the process. She finally asks Jinx for forgiveness, even if not directly, and they come together the same moment they both realise the thing that brought them apart didn't happen
I love it when plot devices have more than one reason for being used. Vi’s black hair isn’t only for her character change or what happened with Caitlyn. It’s the reason Vander doesn’t recognize her until she calls his name and he hears her voice. ❤️

As much as I love that scene in context, I can't shake the fact that it seems to create massive problems with regards to Silco's behaviour towards Vi and Powder in Season 1. Unless there's still some other breadcrumbs about Silco, Vander and Felicia's past that haven't been revealed yet, Silco should have either personally known, or at least deduced who the girls were when they tried to rescue Vander but he did not appear to.

The only thing that makes sense is that he pretended not to know who they were when they met at the factory, because obviously he was in the middle of carrying out evil plans and had no time to be be like - hey, I knew your mom! It makes sense that it wouldn't have come up in their limited screen time together, but proves how horrible he was, because he was clearly willing to kill them without much thought simply because he could use them against Vander and to further his goals of Zaun (somehow...) I think it still works, story-wise, just shows how far gone he was from the man Vander knew.

The hug between Vander and them at the end really made me teary-eyed. The game always hinted at the fact that Warwick would never hurt kids because he has these fractured memories of two little girls. And there are lines in the game where he recognizes Jinx and Vi The way Arcane portrayed him, especially here, broke me.
Just as a quick note, Singed (Dr Reveck) wasn't scarred by whatever happened to his daughter. We see him in the first 3 episodes of season 1, before he looked like that (he's the guy developping Shimmer for Silco). He got these scars when his lab exploded after Powder set off her monkey bomb in season 1 episode 3.
Just saw a detail pointed out that; during Vi's fights, when people are holding up the red cards to bet on Vi. The central one was being held by Jinx. It's her fingerless gloves and blue nails. So she was watching the fights and rooting for her sister.

I mean just look at the moment in episode 6 when Ambessa saw Rictus’ dead body and saw that Caitlyn had betrayed her, the face of pure disbelief, then sadness/anguish and then anger was one of the most heartbreaking faces in the whole show, Rictus was her right hand and comrade/friend of many years and despite their confrontations her relationship with Caitlyn obviously grew close, she even inviter Caitlyn into her warship and personally trained her, that moment really showed that Ambessa is an antagonist, not a villain.
I'm not entirely convinced Elora is dead yet. Just because Mel's captor enjoys using illusions to torment and illicit responses from her, its entirely possible that they fabricated killing Elora in front of Mel to traumatize her. That said, technically it did happen *on screen* so its possible that she did die, because she is merely a side character and they don't always have the most significant deaths.
When Vi says "He's gonna kill you" instead of "He's gonna kill us". My heart...

Vander’s apology letter to Silco is the same message that both Vi and Jinx want to say to each other. Vi even turns around and reaches to Jinx but stops herself. In that moment, she had one gauntlet off, whereas with Caitlyn, when she was at her most vulnerable, she dropped both gauntlets off. Vi even looks at Jinx while they walk as though she wants to say something but is afraid to. Like she has one more wall holding herself back.
Weird how this season only had five episodes, huh? And how the Caitlyn stuff isn't resolved. Oh well, I'm just glad it ended on such a happy note. *copium flow at max power.*

So this episode was very important for a lore clean-up for League of Legends, where they have now confirmed Singed and a scientist named Corin Reveck are one and the same person. Reveck's daughter in League's lore is Orianna, thus confirming Singed's preserved daughter here in Arcane to be Orianna.

They tried to make the Zaun they hoped to create but after she died, their whole world just collapsed and their friendship shattered. If Silco had found that letter things would have been so different and there could’ve been reconciliation.
I learnt from tv tropes that there’s an implication that silco escalating things during the riots might have led to the death of Felicia and connol.
Just like how powder intervening when she didn’t need to killed milo and claggor.

Hi there! You must have forgotten: Singed got his face burned when all the shimmer went up in the lab during Powder's bombing of Silco's hangout. In episode one you can see him with his non-burned face when he is testing the shimmer on the mouse.

Its Orianna, the robot ballerina girl. They retconned how she died, but its almost certain she is his daughter. She looks almost identical to her, and in Orianna's lore she is brought back to "life" by her scientist father who makes her into a robot.
Also lil fun tidbit. Remember the Axolotl thing from season 1? The "Mutation must survive" creature? Yeah that was named Rio, likely a reference to "Ori", a nickname for his daughter.

Yeah, apparently there's this heated debate about CaitVi vs Violyn 😂 The reason CaitVi is considered the correct one is because LoL players have been shiping these two since 2012, when Vi was released as a champion. Back then we didn't know Vi's full name was Violet, thus CaitVi is the original ship name.
I'm a LoL player myself, but I started playing actively until 2014, so I never went on the bandwagon of the ship. Caitlyn was one of my mains but I didn't really play Vi. And since Cait was older she had less dialogue and none refering to Vi, hence why I didn't know they were potentially a thing until Arcane. Vi did have dialogues related to Cait, the "Cupcake" comes from the game, but since I didn't play her I never actually realized. But obviously people were shiping them since Vi's release, because they are also Piltover's Finest Cop Duo.
Now Cait was updated and she has more dialogue and more refering to Vi and all. Great visual update as well. But yeah Arcane just made me love Caitlyn so much more, to the point she is my favorite in the show, and also made me love Vi so much as well (I play her a bit more now haha). And I'm a HUGE CaitVi stan, I just love them ❤ But really in my case I don't mind which name is used, either CaitVi or Violyn is fine by me ❤

That little scene from the past hit me so hard. Realizing that Jinx's hair is how it is because growing up Silco styled it for her after his own former self. How much Vander loved the girls mom even though it was kinda one sided, only to lose her in their war and then Silco too because of his grief.

We are told that the place Mel was trapped in was meant to imprison "false prophets" and there was some weird puzzle in there, presumably to get out, a puzzle Mel was solving almost instinctively. I think that place is meant to be a test, like, "if you're a real prophet, you'll be able to get out" type of deal; I think Mel is a prophet, that's why the Black Rose wants her, and that's why they put her there, to test her.

22:25 Yes it's Black Rose stuff - LeBlanc (League champ from Noxus) is the other founder and matron of the BR - grand master of illusion , deception and mind control (visualized by the thorny chains here, I think). In lore she is ancient , seemingly immortal and one of the three major political players in Noxus. One of her famous in game voice lines is: "I'm everywhere , I'm everyone" . The flipping through the faces visualises that - the final incarnation is Mel's face with LeBlanc's face tattoo under her eyes.

It might be the golden armor like parts of her outfit representing an item from the game (Zhonja's Hourglass) that grants invulnerability for 3 secs. The other theory points to League champion Kindred's ultimate ability that does pretty much the same , but would have far more implications for the story because Kindred would become relevant to Arcane's story (they are Leagues figure of Death , depicted differently depending on the region of Leagues world Runeterra).
Then again it could be Bard's ultimate as well - but him being a celestial god would be too leftfield in terms of Arcane imho.

Given the "Blood, Sweat, and Tears" music video and the "Chosen of the Wolf" skin line in game, I think Mel's abilities being related to Kindred and protecting her from moments of certain death seems very likely. There are lots of debates about whether Ambessa herself or her unborn child in the music video is the one chosen by the Wolf of Kindred, and I think Mel supernaturally getting out of danger points to it being likely that she's the chosen one. Idk though, I'm assuming arc 3 will make things clearer in that regard.

Then again - it would point to Mel's whole story carrying over into a sequel series imho , because I can't imagine how the writers would implement Kindred's wolf form and their whole backstory into the last 3 episodes without convoluting the plot and confusing non League playing fans.

The burn on singes face was from episode 3 when powder blew everything up, igniting a fire that burned most of the shimmer
I'm starting to wonder if they've got 2 rigs for Caitlyn's character model like they do with Jinx.
The animators have 2 seperate rigs for Jinx's face. One that looks more sharp and angry like Jinx, another that makes her look young and innocent like Powder. They switch inbetween rigs depending on which version of her is winning over the other in her mind.
I could be wrong and it's just the animators being cool as shit (very high possibility), but kinda looks like they've done the same for Cait. One version for the loving Cait from S1, the other for the grief and hatred fueled Cait of S2. And she's starting to reclaim that part of herself.
After seeing her, you can tell that Silco braided and styled Jinx's hair to be like her mum. Also, I like how each father figure named one of her children. Vander with Violet and Silco with Jinx.

6-Jinx gathered the courage to meet Vi before looking for Vander, because of her (Jinx) favorite music record , where she says that she, Vi and Vander always danced together.
7-Jinx built a new arm for Sevika, because as you may remember, in the last act of the game, Jinx builds the new arm from the pieces of the "playground" of Powder, Milo, Clagor and Vi.
8-(Note: Something I didn't tell you, Powder, even though she had a bad relationship with Milo, learned her picklocking skill from him)
9-I've been noticing, and doesn't Felicia look like Caitlyn?

You know… to think Vi shouts Vander’s name and it sucks him into a memory that ends as he says Violet’s name. What a way to begin and end a memory, symbolizing her reaching out and him recognizing her! She was the missing half of his memory along with Powder to bring his humanity back.

something that i notice was at 6:12 was the jail cell we see. it could very possibly be the same one that vi was in. caitlyn’s face almost even makes it look like she recognizes or gets deja vu from it. could be a stretch, but feel like there was a small connection there

[I’m going add SPOILER WARNING here since I’m talking about potential spoiler content and non spoiler content mixed together]
I love this episode so much because not only does it confirm Singed and Corin Reveck were combined into one but it confirms Reveck is still Orianna’s father AND it shows us how how Singed starts working for Noxus, supplying chemical weapons to be used against Ionia in their war leading to Swain losing his forearm causing him to graft Raum to his arm. This also teases LeBlanc and her ability to take the form of other people and using illusions. It also is shown when Mel slammed “Kino” into the wall, when the illusion took form of Mel she had the same triangular paint under her eyes that LeBlanc has. Lastly this episode kinda teases that whatever is happening might have ties to the Void (seen in the flash frame when Jayce sees Salo)
31:18 The three dots on the forehead in such manner is a reference to Malzahar, a character associated with the Void. So yeah, whatever the Arcane is producing, it's NOT good.
Also, notice when they're in the Hextech reactor's chamber. You can see Jayce's breath and you could also see that Heimerdinger and Ekko had similar breath. Salo doesn't. Implying he might not even be alive or even human anymore.

This episode marks the only time Arcane made me cry semi-happy tears.
As a League lore fan, I’ve spent years bracing myself for possible disappointment, thinking nothing could live up to Season 1. But here we are… THEY SURPASSED IT (in my opinion). I can’t even process what Act 3 is going to do to me emotionally...
Arcane is pure art. From the heart-wrenching sister fight, to the jaw-dropping Vander/Felicia/Silco backstory, to the haunting silence of Isha calming Jinx in her chaos, to the deliquescence of Viktor and Jayce. It's all just perfection. A narrative that heals us before it destroys us. It’s storytelling at its finest. I deeply think I have never seen characters (especially female characters) written in such a way, with such depth, flaws, and raw realism.
Massive respect to the French Studio Fortiche and Riot's writers, you’ve created one of the most breathtaking works of fiction EVER. Bravo!
Seeing the reveal of Vi hugging Vander/Warwick absolutely destroyed me
6:12 this scene reminded me of when cait met vi for the first time in the cell, just like the detective side of her coming out earlier. so it kinda ties into what you were saying in how cait is slowly reverting back to her healthy self

Things I noticed in this episode that I adore:
Vander thought Silco killed or had something to donwith the death of Vi and Jinx's mom- we see a brief flash of Silco standing by her dead body, this must be right before their fight.
In the end scene with Jayce:
First, Jayce has a metal shoulder pad that looks a lot like what Viktor has in the game when he is Machine Herald
When Jayce and Salo return to the world together, we can see Jayce's breath, but Salo isn't breathing.
Jayce has a leg brace that looks similar to what Viktor wore in season one
For the Vander and Silco thing, there's also a split second where we see Silco throwing something that looks like it could easily be some kind of explosive.
Maybe Silco didn't realize Felicia and Connol were there or would be effected by the blast until it was too late, he was just trying to help.

So, that name drop is a direct call out to another Piltover champion. Singed is never given a true name in his own lore, and Dr. Reveck is only mentioned in one story that doesn't concern Singed. In the old lore that may be different from Arcane's setup, Corin Reveck is the father of the champion Orianna. She was girl who died young and never got to fulfill her dreams of becoming a ballerina. Stricken with grief, Dr. Reveck built her a false, robotic body and tried to capture her mind and spirit inside it to give her a new chance at the life she missed out on. Arcane is now the first time where Singed is directly asserted to be Orianna's father.

I think the reason that everyone in Mel's life flashed through that "Not-Brother" moment is because her captors were drawing from her own memories to create the illusion of her brother. So when the spell got disrupted, it randomly flipped through all the other options that had been available in her mind
They all needed that embrace after what they’ve went through.

Still, this is my favourite episode so far, the lore is insane, be it retconned or just completing stuff up from the games, and the "Victim of great tragedy" scene it's just SO GOOD. The original ost mixed with Singed's theme, the screams of agony and cries... DROWNED MAN SILCO. THE BLACK ROSE. LEBLANC. UNGH PERFECT.
i just realized something.. vander was the HOUND of the underground in season 1... and now in season 2 he actually is a hound...

Reverek's Daughter is actually Orianna! So close on the Lux gues ahaha. Le Blanc is also the leader of the Black Rose (all of this is already canon lore in League :3) so i wouldn't be surprised if the voice at the end of Mel's scene there was Le Blanc. The power we see Mel using is likely connected to the Solari (same powers that Leona uses) and what protected her from the explosion in s1 is actually likely the item actually seen in League the Locket of the Iron Solari, which shields both you and any teammates close by a shield.
I think the mother was important to both Silco and Vander. Silco even did Jinx's hair, combining his young self's bangs with her mother's braid.
Whatever Viktor did to Salo must have removed his soul, as Salo's breath wasn't visible when he was talking to Jayce, while Jayce's breath was clearly visible.
The song playing in the mine has an interesting twist. The first time you hear it, the lyrics seem directed at Jinx with "little girl when you wake with a cold sweat all the hatred in your heart." However, I think the song references both Vi and Jinx, suggesting they should put their differences aside. The lines "Who are you and What have they done to us?" directly point out how Vander, Jinx, and Vi were torn apart from each other and then they finally came back together. The symbolism in this show is crazy good.
