I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

Have tried every which way to pair two of the XB13s to each other, but so far, nothing's working. Do you pair both the the laptop first? Turn off the laptop's bluetooth, then try to pair the two to each other? Or do you pair them to each other first, then to the laptop? Or do you pair one to the laptop, then the other to the paired one with the laptop's bluetooth turned off? A full step-by-step video would be helpful. I would like to know specifications like rms watt output, db level, distortion rate but Sony seems reluctant to tell me these things. That seems very strange to me because Bose is very proud to share these things! Why is Sony not sharing this information? Do they want me to spend my money with other companies instead?
Yeah it's a pain, I have 2x of the SRS XB-13's and speaking as someone who installs car audio equipment and is aware of all these things - these speakers are meant for indoor use, or outdoor use if staying within about 10' of the speakers. My guess from listening to them is 5-15w RMS, they do not get as loud as a Bose Mini Soundlink, but there's a few points that shine on this. 1) SQ is clean all the way up, can crank it 100% and it's not distorting 2) Frequency Response is excellent! Mids and highs are fantastic and if you play this anywhere without much wind you'll be surprised to find it plays down to the 40hz range with authority. Digs down to 30's but not much power there 3) Stereo is a must have, if you run two of these say in a backyard 25'x25' it will be able to be heard anywhere in the yard, but the placement is what's key with these, get them mounted up high pointing down and at your ears on each side and it truly sounds unlike any other Bluetooth speaker - the DSP software they use is second-to-none and the quality is right up there with Morel, Focal and the other big dogs, no joke. You can EQ the speakers using Equalizer APO for windows or wavelet for Android and you can really make these shine by bumping up the 3-8khz range and taking just a little out of the 300-600hz range. +/-3db more than enough. I can't recommend these enough, used them even on a windy day on a crowded beach and I couldn't turn them all the way up without being obnoxious - so they do play loud, remember 5-15w RMS is a lot of power for this size speaker, most aftermarket head units only give you that same power.

The XB 10 sounds better. With more bass and clearer audio. It's even louder as well. And has NFC and a nice soft feel to it which makes it feel more robust.
Very disappointed in XB13. Firstly, the output is very low, even when volume is on maximum setting. The speaker is also difficult to pair with my computer. The device is not recognized and I have to delete and retry three, four, five times in bluetooth settings before it pairs. I bought the XB13 to replace built in speakers in my MacBook Pro, which died and cost a fortune to replace. I use the computer primarily for Zoom meetings, yet the XB13, for some odd reason, does not work with Zoom. It will work with Messenger, FB, UA-cam, anything else.... but not Zoom. Beyond frustrating. As for the quality of sound, the top range is distorted and fuzzy. The bass overpowers and there is no equalizer to correct this. You indeed get what you pay for and this is a cheap speaker. Will be returning the XB13 to Best Buy and find something that works.
Well they didn’t upgrade the audio quality at all so yea… it should stay the same. The upgrades were more to the structure of the speakers and features of it. Kinda like new cars that come out, is the new Corolla gonna get 5 more miles to the gallon than the old one if they weren’t aiming to make it better?

These don’t sound better than xb12..used both and these speakers,they ain’t terrible but they are not better than xb12 on god!
