It's the year 40,000; what insight do we have for humanity?
Fire, bad.
One more thing about ramming. Armour matters. This is why Orks and Imperial Navy has strong front armour. It's meant for ramming. If you do front to front ramming with factions with avarage armour like 50 agaisnt Ork with armour of 80+ you will take more dmg then he will.
You didn't put nough scraps on yar ship ya grots!
Orks! Are the orks in the campaign?!
@@kohtalainenalias No. Orks are only for multiplayer mode, (well you can fight against them in the campaign but not play as them)
Thank you for the tips!
#1 Fighter Vanguard: Sometimes sending your fighters out on a suicide reconnaissance mission will come back to bite you when you need to intercept enemy ordnance or bombers. Sending your fighters out far enough ahead of your fleet as a deterrence against torpedoes and fighters can be a good call. BUT you need to know how big and good your factions fighter wings are; not all fighters are made equal.
#2 Be adaptable: So you're up against someone who's build just happens to beat yours because he came up against many people with that same build. Ship combinations don't mean squat if you don't use your head. Figure out how you can beat your opponent with what you have and take away what he has that could beat you. Every little advantage you have and make will help.
Nice tips!
Faction guides! That would be great :P
yes
a little bit soon, since some nerf and buffs are coming at the release ^^
Indeed!
@@sardauk3038 Its been released since yesterday.
Yea, having some overview faction guides would be a great way to make a series-additionally when we know more looking into the specifics of the game mechanics would be great!
Oh boy, I had been looking for a way to see my weapon arcs while in game, and had never found the expended menu. I wish there was a simple key to make all arcs visible, the same way that Warhammer does it by holding Spacebar. In any case, thanks for the tips!
I was thinking the same thing, I find myself instinctively pressing spacebar in an attempt to see all of my firing angles
From what I know of the lore, PE, the feeding tentacles aren't actually eating the crew of the enemy ship. They're just being used to deposit swarms of tyranids on board.
Faction and possibly subfaction guides would be great
I feel like you missed an important point about ramming. The Tyranids have ships specifically designed for it, namely the ones with "giant claws" weapons in the front. They negate all ramming damage from the front, so you can charge into anything and everything as much as you want as long as those claws/jaws aren't destroyed. It's especially nasty if you manage to charge your nom-ship at the enemy in such a way that it ends up near their backside, so it can just keep nibbling at their engines, where more often than not weapons cannot reach.
In some instances you can even ram enemy ships in such a way as to turn their most dangerous firing arcs away from your own ships.
Hope this helps. (:
Great video. Well organized and expertly narrated.
That said: Having served in the US Navy I couldn't help but note the high level of coincidence between the tactics you presented and contemporary naval tactics used IRL. Interesting. AND - Games Workshop owes you a commission. I'll probably be buying this shortly.
Space combat in the game act the same as they were on sea, if you play Homeworld, that's a mind fuck of altitude and maneuvering.
I would really like a beginners guide series for this game. I'd love a faction guide but I understand if that is maybe too much work
I'm on it =)!
Yup!
Thanks for this. There's not a lot of basic guides out there and this is by far the best I've seen.
I really appreciate the work you put into these. I just got the game and it’s freely gorgeous, and I love being able to improve my ships, but it’s pretty complicated so these are excellent.
Yup!
This video was fantastic. Really well put together with loads of good info. Would love to see more of these!
Thanks. Glad to hear it! And there's definitely more coming!
Just got this off gog. It was like fifteen quidish. Result! Been looking forward to playing this for literally years so cheers for the skillful factfile tips PE. Also the big red buton is well much betta than other runtier butonz. Green=Best.
This was incredible. Exactly the sort of deep dive I needed. Keep up the great work.
Faction guides and example fleets! Love your uploads.
We need a series and we need it now! Thanks for your content.
This is what we need!!!! Now just need one for every faction hahaha no big deal.
Thanks for making this, man. Great intro to the game.
I was in the top 10 Ork players for the 2nd beta and I learned a thing or two! Good job man!
Several things:
1. VERY Nice guide, good for beginners, incredibly easy to understand
b. Lightning Strike is blocked by most shields
ɣ: Inferior to Big red Button? Clawed 'nids would like to have a word with you/eat you
fourth: This doesn't have anything to to do with this video but I hate Eldar. Screw 'em!
Fantastic bloody video! Would love to see faction specific guides, and of course, when the time comes, similar guides to 3 Kingdoms (which I'm beyond hyped for).
thanks for the video! and the arrows were extremely helpful.
Thanks a lot for this video - very helpful!
Love your use of your past games as visual aids. I plan on revisiting many of them while I await your faction guide episodes. ^_^
That Tau Custodian taking out three Ork ships with its death explosion XD
YEsss Faction guides please. Great job in this video, love it .
Top video, just purchased game and was having a few problems... This helps loads... Keep them coming please!
Would love a full series! And individual faction guides would be perfect.
This is a much needed video for new people!
This was very insightful, I'd love to see more videos on BFG!
Thank you for this and future guides.
Very informative and useful guide video!!
Yeah!!
Very helpful, and informative
Tips for the campaign map would be a great part if you're going to do a series.
Thanks for the great guide PE :)
Nice introduction for those of us coming to the game after the Beta Tests
I really enjoyed the vid and i'd be pumped for more tips n tricks/ guide comtent
Thanks for the video! Will take any beginner videos & guides you can do for it. I play 40k on the tabletop but this is my first 40k videogame.
This is what a good tip&tutorial video should looks like.
Very useful, as always, thanks.
I’d love to see more tips! As soon as I can afford this game I want to get it! Waiting for this months paycheck and I’m gonna grab this one!
Great beginner's guide!

Nice tipps, will certainly help when i pick up the game.
I would love a review of the game and of course all the guides (beginner and faction) you can think of. :-)
more of this, yes yes! :)
Please keep making "how to play" videos. You're Warhammer total war videos saved my life.
Fantastic guide for a new players. Cheers and you earned a sub from me!

Awesome. Thanks.

I wondered how to view weapon arks very helpful thank you and I am amazed you can view enamy arks that I would of missed
NICE! thank you
Whole series!!!!
Oh yes , give us some guides for this :)
Yes please do faction guides.
Looking forward to faction guide vids. Not playing the game yet as I'm playing other things. But I'll get to it and meanwhile I enjoy a bit of theorycrafting.
yes please more tips. maybe even some campaign ones?
The lock on target totally depends on the faction and ship I´d say. If you use any Eldar faction you should use it obviously otherwise your ships will stop moving and die. With tau there is not much point really since they generally have front arcs and don´t need to move. All in all whenever your ship is not Eldarand has mostly front facing weapons you should just use it and reduce the amount of micro necessary. Broadside ships are dangerous though. The AI will ram your ships into each other and fly them into asteroid fields. And they will often not keep the enemy in firing arcs. So I´d say if you are using broadside ships you should try to avoid it and take manual control.
best tips video ive seen to date
Thanks! Glad to hear it!
I would love to see a beginners guide. This game is so incredible but I was so bad at the first one. What tips do you have for improving micro management?
Yeesssss good stuff
The Imperium goes first for your faction guide!
This helped a lot, but I still feel like I need a faction breakdown on what would favor my play. I'm new to this genre this is a lot different from the games I normally play.
Please do an essential tips video for the campaign
Not much new things for me, cause ive played nothing else since start of beta 2, but your tips are great and helpful for new players and you leave out the too obvious stuff that even newbies know.
Thanks for your work and your videos, i hope it reduces the salt injection this game got with the release. Was to expected, its a complicated one, but ive been called cheater too often these days. And these ppl often have no more than 3 or 4 games on their race and clearly need any help and experience they can get.
Before someone asks: no eldar is not my main. I play almost all.
Fantastic video. Yes, do more. How did you find this information out in game? Like where does it say what is special about Holofields and Macro Cannons? Where did you learn about identification and scanning rings? I thought they were there for estimates on range. Now stealth makes a whole lot more sense.
Somethings like stats are revealed when you hover over the weapons. As for the ranges - just playing and realizing the patterns!
Faction guides!
Let's be a pro !
Starting play this today. I got my head around the prologue campaign but didn't explain everything, bare bone basics really. I played battles against the AI, tau v orks and get beat even on the lowest difficulty.
wow tks you
Wonderful video, any tips for building resources? Do asteroid fields provide this?
21:15 Heresy! *BLAM*
More!
Nothing tops the classic Eye of the Omnissiah/Stasis Bomb + Nova cannon combo on a Battleship or Escort blob.
Best Warhammer game since Dawn of War 2.
I like Sanctus Reach as well. It's not very polished or anything, but it's pretty accurate to table top and scratches a certain 40k itch. Looking forward to playing this though, just got it tonight.
You seen the Titan game as well? Got that as well in the GW sales on Steam. It's still in E.A, but looks sweet.
HAHAHAHAHA DAWN OF WAR 2 SUCKED BALLS, even DOW 3 was better. Eternal crusade is where its at.
@@slayermate07 dawn of war and its expansions are the best
@@slayermate07 you are wrong.
@@jervoise total Warhammer 2 is fun
If I want to prevent emergency repairs so I can burn them do I target the deck?
more of these
do a full campaign playthrough pls
This game is one of the toughest games I have ever played, have lost count of the amount of times I have booted it up and spent a day losing battle after battle before giving up :/
Any and all Guides are most welcome
Yes, please expand into more complete guides, I love these games but am absolute trash at them.
@billpatino ha ha same here I had a game against tyrinids that I lost in 5mins the other night!
@@samm7322 key to surviving the tyrinids is finding where their fleet is and avoiding if possible (escorts are a must). If that isn't an option focused fire and take them out 1 at a time their ships aren't that tanky after all. Hope that helps
@@alctaurion9038 thanks for that, will give it a go. I think I might play a few games against the CPU to get the controls sorted first. Was a brutal encounter!
Is this info all good for single player as well, please? I just got this in the sales, and while I played a bit of man o war table top as a kid, I've not played any games like this on PC before. I'm usually more into turn based games, but after watching your PvP videos I had to get it.
The first and only "space strategy" game I had played before this was Starsector, needless to say, it is taking a lot of time to get used to this "hands off" aproach.
Just discovered this game. Just learned the game's no longer supported by the Devs and the Chaos' DLC is all we're getting.
More BFG videos please!
How do you highlight the damaged components of a ship? Just wondering, i would like to use this tool to further my goals of performing exterminatus on the filthy heretics and xenos
Double-tap the alt key, it'll reveal all damaged components with a red glow, as well as show the defined limits of the gas fields/asteroids. Just holding alt works too, but double-tapping turns it on for the whole match.
More :)
I’m stuck in the agrippina sector, 1st mission with the solar flares. Do you have a video with any tips on what I should do on that mission?
You can minimize or completely dodge the damage by hiding an astroid field and nebula clouds.
Logan the Krogan I ended up restarting the campaign and I remade my fleets to be more cruiser dominant. I had an easy time in the last game have a fleet of dauntless till the last mission. Light cruisers get destroyed in the solar flares. I couldn’t get my fleet hidden soon enough and got wrecked.
I have a feeling that fire deals a lot of damage, it would be great if you can show us how much damage it deals.
Empire at war really shaped up lol
> Be Tyranids > NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM!
Boy is this game hard... I have failed my first imperial campaign for wasting resources on developing useless planets.
Same had to start over on easy
