I remember what a great night it was when I saw Phantom with my parents, sister, and brother-in-law, 33 years ago. Hard to comprehend that it was that long ago. What a beautiful theatrical experience! I shall cherish that memory always.
What a way to end the final night of Phantom on broadway. The music of the night will sound on in all our hearts. Both Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Makantosh have stated that the show will return to Broadway at some point. The music of the night lives on forever!!!!!
Yes, it does, my fellow Phantom Phan! And, Phantom will be at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia when it retires to Broadway in its entirety! Do not bid on pieces of Phantom in the Online Charity Auction! Spread the word that the Online Charity Auction must be stopped! Thank you!
Phantom closing after a 35 year run is remarkable. Yes, both Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh did say that Phantom would indeed one day return to Broadway. A U.S. National Tour has even been teased.
OK, I tried real hard not to cry, but am sitting here sobbing. What a wonderful experience for the last audience. Lucky to have seen it 6 times, even sitting in box 5 ;o) one time!
I really hope it comes back to south Africa when it was last here at the monte casino theater in Johannesburg i saw it 4 times in its run there if i could have gone to every show it would not have been enough. Phantom will always be the best show in the world
When I was a kid I watched the phantom movie with my mom and fell in love with it so much, it was the moment I decided I wanted to do musical theatre for the rest of my life and I was like 5 or 6. When I heard phantom was closing my mom and I scrapped together our money and found the cheapest day to go see it and then found the cheapest tickets and flew to NYC for less than a day just to watch this stunning cast. I cried the second we stepped into the theater. Nothing will compare to the magic that was created within that space. I can’t imagine anything else being in that theater and it could never live up to phantom :,) so sad to see it go
I hope they fix that chandelier ;) what an experience. I just wish I got to hear Sarah I was too young though. The phantom will always live on. Inside our minds
I was very fortunate to see The Phantom with the original Broadway cast, and then eight more times over the years, most recently this past Christmas with my daughter. I will cherish all of the memories of this amazing show.
“The Phantom of the Opera” is a show that holds a very special place in my heart. It was the very first show I ever saw on my very first trip to New York. I wish I could have been there to see that glorious chandelier rise one last time.
Thankyou so much for capturing this Final Historical Moment in Musical History at New York's MAJESTIC Theatre on Sunday 16th April 2023 of “The Phantom of the Opera” for all to see what a magical moment after 35 years!!! and 13,981 shows!!! A record that will NEVER be beaten! Bravo! - Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh - Thankyou.
I remember the last show here in México, was performed by the two couples first act Claudia cota and Juan Navarro (rip 😢) and the second by Irasema terrazas AND Saulo Vasconcelos, amazing end.
Even if the show does come back…it won’t be the same, so if it’s not gonna be the same I’d rather it not come back at all. So sad…Broadway is never gonna be the same 😢
This is so sad. I have always love Phantom of the Opera, but I never got to see it live, that was one thing I had always wished I could do, just never had the money, or when I did, I didn't have the time. Phantom of the Opera and Cats both are ones I would have loved to see live, and then seeing this is their final performance (for now hopefully) I may never get that chance. On a side note as a pianist growing up, I couldn't get enough of Andrew Lloyd Webber's music, that there is one musician I would love to meet in person.
I went to see POTO back in the summer of 2012 with my church youth choir from Childersburg, Alabama. Still have my ticket stub in my bedroom. Thank you Phantom for entertaining us all! ❤️
So sad too see this WONDERFUL musical come to an end. I was lucky enough too see Crawford and Brightman back in the 80's when they finally made it over to NY. I also saw Sierra Boggess and Ramin in their respective roles. WOW JUST WOW too both of them...!!! They had great chemistry together for sure. I was also shocked but not surprised too hear Andrew Lloyd Webber discussing how much it costs to put this production on each week. Something like close to a million dollars...!!! That's just insane but worth every penny. Especially, after he commented on the younger generation really taking an interest in this musical now. And i understand it's a cost cutting measure after all as a singer myself music doesn't make a lot of money folks. But their is something VERY special about this musical because it's more than just a love story at it's roots. It's about acceptance of one's differences. And individual being The Phantom who feels like an outcast of society. If that doesn't speak volumes and hold A TON of relevancy in today's political landscape. Especially, in the LGBTQ+ community which i'm a part of. Then i don't know what does. It's a damn shame it's being pulled. They younger generation deserves too see this live and in living color not on a computer or TV screen.
Fortunately, I had the privilege of seeing the show on april 12th. It was the master piece of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and the performance I watched, was perfect! I remember that I thougth, " Oh my God! Which play will replace this master piece?!" It's impossible to do anything better than this!
Thank you so much for posting this. I’ve seen Phantom 3 times so far in London and I will definitely be going on a regular basis. It’s my favourite musical. Best Wishes and God bless 😘
Mein Mann und ich haben das Musical gesehen, unvergesslich die Atmosphäre in diesem Theater, hatten feuchte Augen.Unvergesslicher Abend im Theater und dieser Tollen Stadt New York
The only thing I wish would have happened was maybe a lighthearted joke about the unfortunate timing of Michael Crawford’s emergency dental surgery keeping him from being there. We do know he wished he could, the OG himself!
My mom went to the final public show and said they were all chanting for one more song at the end lol. I think this one in the video was a show saved for family and friends
I love that Sarah and Andrew still have a great relationship after all of these years. But, I'm so sad that this show closed. It is my comfort musical. :(
Phantom is my fourth favourite musical, I saw the original production at Her Majesty's Theatre in London on Saturday 31st March 2012 and it was spectacular I really like both Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh
Ultimate super awesome and very super incredible ceremony congrats to Lloyd byber to make the awesome phantom of the special opera😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ congrats
Always adored Sir Cameron!! Such enthusiasm and joy he has for musical theater …and he shares it with all of us! His professionalism and instinct are bar to none! Thank you Sir Cameron !!
My fellow Phantom Phans, do not be discouraged. Phantom is coming back to Broadway in its entirety! But, in order to do that, you must not bid on the pieces of Phantom in the Online Charity Auction! Instead, send letters to Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, telling him to move all the said pieces to The Fox Theater in Atlanta, Georgia! The Fox Theater is a huge Theater, and Phantom has played there several times when Phantom was on National Tour! You must tell other Phantom Phans this message! Send this message on! And, together, we will bring Phantom back to Broadway in it entirety! Thank you!
Wow, no credit to Ramin Karimloo? What a "slight" that is. No disrespect to the other Phantom performers but not including Ramin in the picture credits was rude.
Phantom lives.

ME TOO...!!! This was one of the first musicals of MANY my parents brought me too back in the 80's. Just when Brightman and Crawford came to NY.

Really lovely to see Sarah and Andrew together.
Making me cry…I do believe it will be back. Best Phantom was Ramin Karimloo who did it in the UK.

Only on Broadway it is, not in general!

Phantom of the opera is the most beautiful musical ever, many thanks to the super talented music master Andrew Webber

We saw it many times and never tired of it. I say it will be back in five years. So put the whole production in storage till then.

Perhaps Crawford gave the understudy a chance to perform.
Who is the Phantom on this last night?
is it just me or ramin was not in the slideshow?
Did you win the lottery tickets to go? Or were you invited? I'm just curious how they do that.
Lucky enough to have been invited by someone involved in the production.
@@DrewFromNY That's amazing, chance of a lifetime
How come Ramin wasn't shown in the slideshow of the Phantoms?
Because Ramin did not play the Phantom on Broadway.
Ok the fact that Ramin Karimloo wasn’t listed in the Phantoms is odd. Or were they only listing Phantoms from the American Broadway productions?
Broadway only.
It'll be back after they scale it back and it's cheaper to produce. Smaller orchestra.
Why didnt Michael Crawford get a proper send-off?
He canceled beforehand due to a medical procedure he was having.
Wow, no credit to Ramin Karimloo? What a "slight" that is. No disrespect to the other Phantom performers but not including Ramin in the picture credits was rude.
He was in Les Mis. Don't think he was in Phantom (checked IBDB.com). May be wrong
