I keep canned chicken, tuna, salmon, sardines and yes, anchovies in my pantry. All of these are good protein sources for days when I don't want to cook...or for Struggle Times when they are handy dandy sources for simple meals as opposed to take-out. You rocked this one. Kevin!!
Would love to see some more stuff like this. All four of these are solid and look great. Definitely going to be doing the burrito bowl.

I'm so glad you made this video! I can my own chicken whenever there is a big sale and I want to move items from my freezer to the pantry. I love putting it in soup and even using for Enchiladas, but needed some inspiration for new things!
Made the curry and tex mex ones for meal prep this week and they were so good. I brought the curry one to work and my coworker was asked for the recipe.😁

I just bought canned chicken breast today from Costco. The sample was good so figured I’ll try it. Of course the sample was mixed with a little mayo, salt, pepper.

@@fitmencook Me too!! I like Wild Planet Organic Roasted Chicken. It's so good I can even use it in chicken salad which is the true test for me. I'm picky about meat! I have plenty on hand for emergency food. This world is so crazy, that I decided to have a small stash of food and canned chicken is a good option. Also, honey. Just read that people can live a long time on just one teaspoon of honey a day! But don't use metal spoons or water bottles because metal kills the enzymes in honey. I want to research this more but thought I'd pass that info along. Thanks again for your awesome recipes!

glad I found your channel. Especially these canned chicken recipes. I can my own chicken. When it's 99 cents a lb. I buy 40 lbs. and you can put 1 lb. in a pint jar. 99 cents for a dinner plus the veggies from your garden. It does not get better than that! Talk about cheap and healthy!

@@fitmencook Yes just pressure can your chicken. Leg, thighs, breasts. I PC pint jars for 75 minutes. You don't add any liquid to the jars, the chicken makes it's own when processing. Now you have the EXACT same thing only a hell of a lot cheaper. I posted your video to one of the large canning groups I belong to. We are always looking for great recipes to use our canned meats.

My mom like to go to food pantries. I HATE that she does. Cause we don’t need it. And they ALWAYS. Give strange things. Like. 18 whole frozen chickens. Or 25 pounds of cauliflower or one time we got 110 cans. Yes. 110 cans of chicken. One time we got 40 bags of beans One time they gave us 20 bags of green grapes It’s insane
It’s a blessing you believe you don’t need the extra food but mommy gets it anyway. I’m going to one tomorrow to ensure my family can eat more meals and stretch our meals for longer weeks to months at a time. Then save the money I would have spent to use for more pressing matters that require real cash to be spent. Jehovah is a wonderful provider overall ❤
I've never understood the premise of canned chicken being cheap. Boneless skinless chicken breast is much cheaper when prepared. Convenient? Yes. Cheap? No.
Yeah I def think it’s more of a convenience thing, like when you can’t “cook” a raw chicken. BUT, I did go down a rabbit hole 😂 and there are a few brands that are cheaper than raw breasts at around $4/lb
I agree. I find it to be a lot cheaper to get rotisserie chicken that is put in the fridge. It’s a lot cheaper and tastes better, unless you’re specifically looking for chicken breast.
Plus canned chicken tastes so bad😂
