    • @PerEkare
      @PerEkare 9 років тому +5

      Grass Hope Actually, they're not talking just swedish. They're swedish comedians speaking an unholy mix of swedish, bad german, english and made up words. I think they're parodying the (80's) Hollywood way of mixing up Germany, Switzerland and Sweden, for example by calling someone in a Dirndl swedish and so on. They didn't give a shit, we're all European! ;) Also, bad made up german-swedish has been used in other swedish comedy, for example by the band "Tyskarna från Lund" ("The Germans from Lund" [a student city in Sweden]), which is a Kraftwerk parody. Maybe swedes find bad made up german funny because many of us have horrendous memories of our school german classes, a language many studied but never learned! :D

      PerEkare I know, I'm swedish. and yes, I knew this somewhat as well, a friend of mine is related to the lead actor. But nice to see you explaining it better :) thank you

    The two Nazis by the tank were speaking swedish:) And if you'll just remember the first Die Hard movie, you'll remember that the terrorists spoke some form of mangled german - approximating foreign languages was a thing back then, so it's another 80's reference:)

    Okay, so this is my first impression of having just started watching the video:
    "Kung Fury? Never heard of it, but I still haven't seen AnY's non-pony videos, so let's see." *Unicorn shows up on screen at **0:13* "... ... ...Of course..."

    It's so absurd and full of cheesy 80's action that it's unbelievably awesome, I need to get a copy. It's so bad it's good. The movie is like "we don't make sense or have a plot and don't care who knows it".

    Years later and I'm just realizing that the whole movie is Thor's fault. He sent Hitler into the future in the first place (hence the lightning), creating the chain of events that brought them to Nazi Germany. This now makes me wonder if any of the character retain their memories from the last loop, and if that's why on the final one it gets changed with the addition of the robotic eagle. Either way, the heck Thor?!
    Also, great Rambo cosplay.

    the movie reminds me of my childhood in the late 80's (I was born in 1985 the same year the NES hit the US shores). Even the cheesy blurry scanlines of the VHS/TV effect are in the movie. Everything about the movie screams 1980's cliche's... but that is what I love about it, Reminds me of the time I ate Batman cereal and watched Airwolf and TMNT in 1988.

      I'll admit, when I first saw the title of the video, I just saw the word: Fury, and thought you would be talking about the new Mad Max movie. ;P Though when I re-read it, and saw "Kung Fury", I scampered off to listen to the classic Mortal Kombat theme... Because I'm a weird 90s kid that just adores the MK Classic theme. And Kung Fury reminds me a bit of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. ^////^

      Hero Of Gallowmere A bit of a sad reality that you have to emphasize so much that this is simply a question out of curiosity :(
      Nevertheless, since you do ask: it's a good show. Stories, characters, visuals - all pretty good.
      Now is it a great show, I would recommend to everybody? Nope. I could name at least ten shows I consider superior and far less niche (A:TLA; Kim Possible; Dexter; South Park; Firefly; Cowboy Bebop; Coupling; Futurama; Gravity Fall; Young Justice ...)
      So I guess the question is rather: "why the hype? Why dedicate entire channels to it? why make such a big fuzz?" I personally see two major aspects to that: the show itself carries a certain spark of inspiration, what got so many artists, musicians an such interested. The other aspect is the fandom itself: its rather small in comparison and the entire "its for little girls" stigma has the effects of A. making the open fans more committed and B. keeps certain types of superficial people away, what creates a nice climate.
      So would I recommend the show? Not necessarily. Its a niche and not everybody's cup of tea. But it is good and probably worth checking out just out of curiosity (not the actual pilot episodes however - they are rather weak XD )

      First of all i would like to say sorry if my grammar is bad, i'm italian but i'll try my best to sum up my idea without too many typos.
      Yeah i heard the quality of she show is good but still, and i'm not trying to be superficial, it is for "little girls".
      The whole point i guess is: why you, 20 years old guy, at one point of your life you say "mhmhmh i should watch this cartoon about little ponies".
      Clearly you are not the target audience of this product so why you decided to become a big fan of it?
      I mean in this world there are TONS of awesome series, a lot of them have you in their target audience, why check out something like this?
      Like if one guy comes to me and says: "Hey i'm 20 years old and i watch Breaking Bad (random example)", i think there's nothing wrong.
      If another one says "Hey i'm 20 years old and i love My Little Pony Friendship is Magic", i can't help but think it's rather weird.
      Once again, i have no disrespect for you bronies, you can watch whatever you want it's not my business. It was all a simple question since actually i've never talked with a brony about this question. :)

    • @AnYEntertainment
      @AnYEntertainment  9 років тому

      Hero Of Gallowmere Well, there is less of an active decision going on. On way or another we hear about the show (in my case it was another internet personality who promoted it. Not sure how he found it himself...) I checked it out, it was fun to watch and I kept watching. At one point I discovered the community and nowadays I am actually more into fan content than the show itself. As I said: show is good, but there are many other often better ones - I watch those, too, btw ;)
      Is it weird? Yes, from the currently common point of view it is an unusual choice in media. Then again: video games used to be a looked down upon media. The common understanding that cartoons in general are not only for kids is still rather fresh and many people still haven't caught on to that.
      I don't really care if something raises an eyebrow or not (just look how I make a complete idiot out of myself in the video above) My friends know I don't bother with normal and just roll with it. People who can't deal with the fact, that I watch something I am not the target demographic for I usually people I would care about anyways since they think in boxes and are superficial.
      My advice: Don't think so much about what other people think and simply enjoy stuff on its own merits ^^
