That's literally what happened tho. It was sad and somewhat amusing at the same time. Mostly sad because Unwavering Emotions was playing in the background.
Man, I already thought this song felt a little bit out of place for Pokémon, and felt like it belonged more to another game series, but couldn't quite place which one it would be.
After hearing this however, it's crystal clear -- this is definitely a Mega Man song which somehow ended up at the Game Freak office by mistake.

I really liked Hugh he wasn't fighting you so he could beat you and he didn't say he was stronger even when you beat him without losing a Pokemon. He was fighting you to make sure you were strong. Strong enough to protect yourself. Not to see if he was stronger but to see if you were strong enough. He understands that team plasma is a strong group and wants to make sure you can hold your own against them. He actually seems to care more then he lets on.
Also I really like this remix. Reminds me of crash man? Which was the one where you climbed a ladder into space

This song is so underrated, I feel. Like there's a lot of random buildup in the beginning, but the melody that starts at 0:28 is just sooooo good!
Dispite much of the flack Hugh gets, I really like him and his motives, but I do agree, he needed to calm his mind more often. I like the serious rivals, Gary, Silver and Cheren, even if Cheren was a little odd every so often. I wish there were more serious, almost darker rivals in Pokemon.

I always found it odd how dark and tense this sounded for a rival who wasn't such a bad guy. But when the song is this high-octane and catchy, it's hard to give a s***, especially with your brain hitting the sides of your skull as you headbang at light speed.

Hugh is an underrated rival but I was expecting him to be Blue 2.0. Also, is he the first rival (not counting N as he is an antagonist) that is older than you?
Unova Mega Embaor I checked other sources that say he's a year older and I remember it being said in the games that he's older.

This is fuckin GREAT dude. One of the best 8bit remixes I've heard.
In 8-bit half of the song sounds like a shovel Knight stage (King Knight's in particular) and the other like a megaman stage.

The Green Dragon 53 well... Mega Man, Pit, Marth, Samus, and Link originated on nes in the mid to late 80's (im bad with dates so don't hold me to the exact years)
Mario came from arcade games before the nes, though in his earliest appearances he was simply referred to as "jump man"
Fox comes from the snes, 'round mid 90's
Pikachu and Kirby on GameBoy, also mid 90's-ish
Shulk... is from Xenoblade Chronicles... released for the wii... 20(10-11) (in most countries). he's not really a nostalgic icon like the rest of them. i love shulk, in fact Xenoblade is my favorite game to date, but he doesn't belong here yet. someone like the ice-climbers, or donkey kong, or even ness/ninten would be more suited to fill the void.
I don't know why, but I think Shulk works well for the Weakness system that Mega Man is well known for.
I don't know why I made his weapon drop most effective on Pit, but he is the perfect weakness to Link and his Ocarina of Time.
Reason: If Shulk can see the future, and Link can reverse / control time, you would think that Link's control on time would effect Shulk's ability to predict and / or alter the Future.
Also, the 8 bit remix of You will know our names works amazingly for a Shulk stage theme.
The Green Dragon 53 well... the future shulk see's isn't set in stone already, and he knows that... he gets a small gimps into the future and changes it to his advantage. as for link, he doesn't really 'control' time, the smallest 'time jump' he can make is 3 days... at worst entire periods of history go by in his 'time jumps'. plus he can't really move freely, but seemingly on defined intervals by using different instruments of travel. link can change the future on a large scale, but shulk's visions are still going to win him a fight, link can't run small-scale interference like that... but that's not the point i was trying to make. i'm just saying shulk doesn't belong in a 'nintendo's 9' nostalgia-'scapade, since he's only a couple years old.
