My mom was from East Prussia (now part of Russia, Poland and Lithuania) and was a mix of German, eastern European and Greek/Turkish (Cyprus), so there was always this Eurasian influence of music, food and culture in the background of my childhood. As soon as I hear music like this, I gravitate toward it like it's part of an ancestral memory. Another great folk-rock trio (with a band) is Värttinä, from Finland.
