They are from Georgia (Sakartvelo). The instrument is Panduri , Georgian national instrument. Kakhuri means the song from Kakheti, one of the regions of Georgia. Greetings from Georgia!
Trio mandili is from Georgia, they pley on Georgian instrument called "panduri" an most importantly, they sing in Georgian language. They, as most of the country are christians (Georgian orthodox) but either way the song isn't religious. It's purely a folk song from a small Georgian region kakheti and it basically is about love. Hope this was interesting
They are Georgian (former Soviet Union). Nice song, pretty girls, cute donkeys, and beautiful backdrop makes for a lovely day! Thanks for this reaction! Could definitely watch more!
I love Trio Mandili! Been watching them for a few years, it's a great way to start the day and put a smile on your face. They have performed concerts but attracted millions of new fans during the covid lockdowns when they would seem to sing a new song every day with a different breath-taking landscape behind them. They are Georgian, but I'm sure they've done the odd song in English and I know they've sung some in Polish and Hindi. The mandili refers to their headscarves. So basically their name loosely translates as '3 ladies in headscarves'.
What you are expressing is the sane reason I'm drawn to things like the Hu and the like. Even within the US, native tribal music is gorgeous and unique.
When you said, you want to have a daughter like them, I realized what really is universal! Humanity is universal! Our nature, our soul, us being humans, us wanting to be humans, authentic, natural - that is universal! You guys are amazing. I wish all Georgian girls are like them. Unfortunately, not anymore! I'll tell you few words to give you more idea about Culture and vibes: These women may seem very feminine, gentle and graceful, but throughout centuries, they fought along with men agains bastard muslims(if you look on the map, you will realize why - the only Christian country, the Christian gates of fucktard Europe, which never helped or defended us, there were centuries in our history that we fought 150+ wars! Yes, that's more that a war per year)! Our motherland and not fatherland! Mother- tongue, Mother-earth, mother-nature... Mother, female bears a very important role in culture, history of the nation. Christianity was brought by a 13-14 years old girl in the country, Also adopted and enforced by the female - queen in the 4th century! In the 12th century, because the Kind did not have son, his daughter was coronated as KING! No analogue in the world, as far as I am aware - one of the most powerful countries of the world then - in the 12th century , ruled by the FEMALE - KING TAMAR, and Georgia flourished under her and went in history as golden era! About Georgian women, I must note Medea, the daughter of King Aiet, which is the main hero of the Greek mythology about argonauts! Yes, she was a real character, according to which we named MEDICINE, google to find out more if interested. And at the end, The main symbol of Georgia is always a woman! There are two significant ones - first, Kartlis Deda - mother of Georgia, Statue stands in Tbilisi, holding a Sword in one hand and the wine cup in another! Easy to guess why! And the second one is a Mother, standing with two little boys that are holding an oversized, huge sword of their father, who was killed in a battlefield (BY muslims or russians most likely and you called us muslims and russians, makes me bleeding)! In 1989, when it still was a part of the Soviet Union, there were demonstrations in Tbilisi against communist regime and were asking independence. On April 9, 1989 soviet soldiers killed in Tbilisi demonstrators and military curfew was in action, Russian tank was patrolling on a highway, next to my very tall apartment building. I, 13 years old girl, with my friends were throwing rocks and our handmade Molotov cocktails from the roof of the building! Actually, tank did aim at us once! We did it every night until that tank was there! If you google and find the video of that terrible night, April 9, 1989, there is a boy, one of the demonstrators and when tanks are marching over the peaceful demonstrators, he kicks it with a stick! MUSLIMS and RUSSIANS are our number one enemies! We hate them genetically! Not at a personal level, don't get me wrong, I do have russian and muslim friends, but generally! So you basically are calling us what we have been fought since our existence! Not cool! :))))))) But respect for deeply understanding the real sense of Georgian women, their soul and grace. If you watch Georgian dances, especially QARTULI or Kartuli, you watch how graceful female movements are and you will have a complete picture! And that dance also shows you the attitude of a Georgian man towards Georgian women(historically, unfortunately modern men suck big time). And good advice - when you are in Georgia or with Georgians, never curse them by mother - you better shoot them rather cursing them by mother! They may kill for it! No joke! :) And those handkerchiefs, these girls are wearing are also part of the show - to deliver the culture. If two or more men were fighting and a woman would put in between them that handkerchief, in Georgian - MANDILI, ( that's where the group's name derives -TRIO MANDILI :))) ) , men would stop fighting right-away! MANDIL-osani - female, wearing MANDILI and literally translates as a LADY! So, you have here a version of three beautiful Georgian ladies! p.s. other than that, these girls are absolutely modern, normal girls with strong personalities, proud heads up and knowing all their rights! They don't wear MANDILI in everyday life. And they don't have lives of Amish, Jews or Muslim women. They are very modern, civilized, educated but pure and authentic Georgian! Caucasian race, Caucasian power! :)))))))))))))
Excellent! My mom was from East Prussia (now part of Russia, Poland and Lithuania) and was a mix of German, eastern European and Greek/Turkish (Cyprus), so there was always this Eurasian influence of music, food and culture in the background of my childhood. As soon as I hear music like this, I gravitate toward it like it's part of an ancestral memory. Another great folk-rock trio (with a band) is Värttinä, from Finland.
When I need a dose of eastern european music, (mainly Romanian for me), I head over to Uncle Momo's reactions. I suspect he has something from every country in the world. He even did a reaction to Ren before anyone else, yrs and yrs ago. He seeks out those with 10views as well as those with millions of views. Look in his stuff, it wont disappoint. He is multilingual so at times can atleast explain the basic theme of the lyrics
Thank you, been looking for a reactor who has tastes as wide as mine. I started branching out from listening to 3 languages back 8 years ago, to listening to over 50 languages now.

They are Christians orthodox 🎉❤ (second country in the world who adopted Christianity after Armenia ) before recording this kind of video at least check the background and comments, that’s an insult
Now turn around and look on the road that brought you to this place, enyoing a rural Georgian girl trio singing in a language you don't understand a word from. I just commented that you are opening to so many different veins of music under Dead South, but this is another level. You've grown so much, esteemed gentlemen... I mean, FUQ boys.
BP not sure if you are aware how much of an Upchurch fan I am but this video reminds me of one of the reasons why. He has a song called Roots run deep depicting his roots here in Tennessee in which I so heavily relate because I'm only a few hours ride from where he is in Nashville but I'm in East of the state but the people in his video and lyrics so remind me of my heritage which is practically identical based in the same type ways of life and living growing up here in the Appalachian mountains. I would so love if you guys could do this one song for me as I'd love you to see what ties me to the place I was raised and where my heart lies in this beautiful place and the heritage I'm so proud to speak of here. I've came to a point in my age where I've truly learned how much I truly love and appreciate my upbringing and find no shame in the love given to me by my ancestors. Throughout time many have made fun and called names like hillbilly rednecks among others but there's nothing more misunderstood than how great and hard working and more family living people there ever could be. We to are people who love love music as well as I think all cultures have a song to sing and I think Ryan touches on that in this song called Roots run deep . Thank you and so sorry I went on so long I'd just like an understanding of why it's a personal fav of mine. Again appreciate you guys and your openness to understand and appreciate 🙏👍✌️
This video was awesome! When are you guys going to get into some Tool reactions? I heard you talking about it the other day, and I think they would become one of your favorites based on both your musical tastes and your exploration into spiritual ideas. Something you said during one of your recent reactions reminded me of the idea behind the song Jimmy, about letting go of the child trapped inside.
I love Georgian folk music. It's hard to find good translations, because Georgian is nothing like Russian, or any other language. If you want a really good Russian folk song, try the song: Black Raven From Pelagea. There is a really good recording, with 3 woman and 1 man. And for the ones who hate Russia because of the ongoing war. Know that this is more like a anti-war song from before 1831. About a young Cossack soldier, mortally wounded, asking a raven, to tell his bride at home, that he is marrying mother earth instead.
Love this! Suggestion: from Mongolia Huun Huur Tu Fifty Horses In My Herd or Orphan's Lament; from Ireland The Chieftans Foggy Dew; from a Mexican American, Linda Ronstadt La Charreada from her album Canciones de Mi Padre. All very different & all wonderful.
That looks like a Panduri which is a Georgian instrument so it would make sense if they were Georgian, they definitely seem to be from that area of Eastern Europe, a former soviet state and I also agree with you on the whole keeping it real and keeping to their culture, people should promote their culture and not pretend to be something they aren’t because some stupid record label or image consultant decided it was the latest gimmick, the trouble is, it’s engineered and not real and that initial intrigue and novelty very quickly wears off because it quickly becomes evident that it’s all gimmick and no substance, I would rather watch something genuine a real like this then the k-pop rubbish, I will leave that for the teenage girls because I just don’t F with it but I totally F with this, it’s good to embrace and promote your culture, there is nothing wrong with being nationalistic. Globalism is bad, individuality is good, we should not be trying to all be the same, we are not a monolith and places like Georgia know all too well the issues with that kind of thinking, with the genocides in Georgia, but I am going off on a tangent. I am not Georgian but I celebrate that they can show off their culture and beauty to the world, it’s good to see
