@TheStucam55 Yes, but about 1.2 km north-east of the current stop. If you enter "Innsbruck, Rennweg 41" in google maps or google earth, you can see the old station. (new station: Innsbruck, Rennweg 3) The old station (and the bridge too) still exists, but is out of order.
@dinosaurustaurus Thanks for that. Wish I'd known as I would have liked to see that. Will do next time as Innsbruck is definitely somewhere I'd go back to.
Thanks. That was really lovely to see the old version. I recently visited Innsbruck to see the Zaha Hadid stations and loved those too. Did the old railway stop on the South side of the Inn?
Great video! I was wondering, how did they handle the variations in steepness along the route? Since the doors are prone compared to the cabin, they had to keep the tracks always at the same inclination, or did they have some other system?
The old Hungerburgbahn had a different route with less variations of steepness. You can find the old bottom station on google maps if you search for "mühlauer brücke"
Thanks, I looked it up and yes, I was able to see the remains of the old tracks and the old station, you can even see where the old route joins the new one. Maybe the old tracks had less variations in steepness, but I'm pretty sure the very first part of the trip was a bit uncomfortable...at least the river crossing.
Super Video, schöne Kameraschwenks, passender, melancholischer Soundtrack. Dickes Lob, danke!
