If I may continue from my previous comment, Bing really was incredible. If you think he sounds great here, you might be interested in listening to some of his earlier material, particularly from the 1930's.
Here's something you might find interesting. Here's Bing singing a song from a movie he made 23 years before this one. The earlier movie is called 'Going Hollywood.' ua-cam.com/video/N9cB1zYex4E/v-deo.html
The music and talent in this film are matchless. The setting appears to be in or based on the Rosecliff (Oelrichs) mansion in Newport, RI where in Porter composed Anything Goes in 1934. Porter was "high society" and at home where they lived.
The movie was High Society, 1956. Filmed partially in Newport, RI at the Rosecliff Mansion. Louie Armstrong's first feature film. Also starred Grace Kelly and Frank Sinatra - it was Grace Kelly's last movie before she married Prince Rainier of Monaco. The huge engagement ring she wears in the movie was her engagement ring from the Prince. Classic movie!
Yeah... sure... have you ever seen the movie? Go and see the movie before talking such nonesense. One of my all time favourites, thanks so much for posting! Bing had such an amazing voice *sighs*
To SeemsSane: I have been a Crosby fan since I was 13. I'm now 30. As far as I'm concerned, he was in superb voice during the recording sessions for this movie. He was also an excellent whistler, as you can hear.
Musical remake of 'The Philadelphia Story' and Grace Kelly's final movie before her retirement and marriage to Prince Rainer of Monaco. I love the opening with Louis Armstrong... 'High Society!'
What movie is this from? Mary Crosby said in an interview many years ago how Bing had an aversion toward physical affection. You wouldn't know it from this. He seems like a regular teddy bear of a guy.
Its not meant to be serious, why dont people of todays world enjoy the music and story of a masterpiece like this, and need to politicise everything??!! This is a disease that people nowadays have, and its so useless and inappropriate
I'm surprised there aren't more people talking about how troubling this is. I also watched Gigi last week and that has a similar song too. Yikes 1950s.
I mean the song itself is fine because at the time you could call any girl who’s younger than you “little one”, but the scene is what makes it feel off. I know in the movie he was only joking about it, but when you cut the scene out for the song it looks a bit concerning out of context. I mean the leading lady of this film and the love interest for Bing was 27 while he was in his 50’s, so it could fit with their dynamic.

Pure innocence in a better age with fewer sickos. Fantastic movie, great music.
God, his singing was amazing. There's just something in his voice.

Bing and Louis were marvelous together!
Bing was so smooth and laid back. Gotta love his style.
Great song by Cole Porter - perfect for Crosby and Armstrong. Fabulous film - a warm part of the soundtrack of my childhood.
My favorite song from my favorite film! Bing is such a sweetheart, thanks for posting it :-)
"Great song, but the wrong girl" same Louis, same

Lovely, absolutely lovely! I like the circe part best :)
that voice!
Imagine someone writing a song today using "Circe". Cole Porter was the best. This is a dandy little number from "High Society". Thanks.

How old is the gold now? She’s gotta he pretty old right?
@@GroundhogRoy I meant girl…gosh darn it.
Inappropriate on so many levels!
who does he sing this song to?
+PrinceNightingale The little girl.
Ew. A guy just sent me this song saying it’s how he feels bout me 💀🤮
Is no one going to address how fucked up this is?
Because it's not fucked up at all. He is teasing the little girl (his former wife's little sister) for being in love with him.
So im the only one who sees and hears pedophilia tendencies in this scene. Hmmmm🤔
