Oh, give me a break, dancer. Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2Co 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)-----Pentecostals operate on sight. Faith is the opposite of sight. Are pentecostals saved??????? Did you even watch the video?
70 Disciples anyone? Was not Apostles... but Healed and threw out Demons. This is not to defend the practices of today but just saying... 70 Disciples was sent out and did heal and the Demons was subject to them in his name. But i'm sure they did it without Babel tongue :)
Erin Girton says speaking in tongues was a sign to the Jews not to the Gentiles. That when one speaks in tongues it does not edify the individual who speaks in tongues. That unless that person understands what he is saying is not not edified. All this, he says, supposedly based in scripture. But look at I Cor 14:2, "For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God..." So, tongues is not only spoken as a sign to unbelieving Jews it is also a way to speak to God. Going on, "...for no one understands him: however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries." So clearly you do not have to understand what you are saying for your spirit is speaking to God's spirit mysteries that you do not understand. So when you pray in tongues in tongues you pray in from your spirit and not with the carnal mind.(1 cor 14:14) Paul also says he who prays in tongues edifies himself (1Cor 14:4). Paul also admonishes the Church not to forbid people from speaking in tongues (1 Cor 14:39). What Paul is really trying to say is that speaking in tongues edifies the individual praying in tongues but does not profit the other believers in an assembly (i.e. The Church) and that he would rather have an interpretation of tongues or a prophecy because that will benefit everyone present in an assembly. It should also be noted that Corith is in Greece, a long way from Judea and although many in the Church of Corith were Jews many were also Gentiles. So, speaking in tongues had spread through out all the churches. The problem with having a hatred for some particular teaching or practice, which many cessationists have, is that it clouds your judgement and that affects how you interpret scripture. What is true is that there is and has been in the past and in fact throughout the history in the Bible as well. people who do not have the gifts of the spirit but think they have. What they are doing is simply acting out the vanity of their own imaginations. I am convinced that there are many, if not the majority of prominent charistmatics and pentecoustals who are praying on the naive, exploiting them for money and for their own self aggrandizement. These are the same ones espousing the false doctrines of today like the prosperity gospel, the word of faith and the so called Toronto blessing and laughing revival etc. The tradegy is that these false prophets have created complete confusion about what speaking in tongues and what the charistmatic gifts are. That is the real issue. Not whether there should, or should not be charistmatic gifts in the Church today but who are the charlatans? By the way Bill it is Charistmatic not Charastmatic.
+Raymond Stewart Hi there. Listened to Erin and did not feel good about what he had to say about that which I believe in.However- thank you for it - I stumbled onto your comment above, which flows with that I believe in and that I believe God has taught me. I copied the content of your comments onto a document which I will save somewhere and put it to use as and when someone asks for guidance on the speaking of tongues. God bless you sir.
One has to be careful about how one judges the actions or manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Go to scripture and you will know that this man has blasphemed as he takes the glory away from God and gave it to satan. Who made him an expert in the material of who the Holy Spirit is? Do not be deceived just because it sounds good to you.
Good preacher.

Pentecostals as well as Mormons can be saved just like us baptists have people that are unsaved in our church.

This dude claims to have gotten saved by a Pentecostal does this mean that he didn't really get saved?
He's definitely saved.
