      Yeah me too. Its actually relaxing nowadays to simply work out some triangles. 🤷‍♂️😂

      It's literally the fingerprints of god being left behind. That's how I see these math equations in everything. Many people try to separate religion and science-- but I tend to see it as evidence. lol

    You did fantastic 🙏 please do a video on led bulb where real power and the current is only stated. ( I mean no power factor 🙏)

    Hi Craig, I thought the starter was normally open then closes when the neon heats up within it. Then when the Ne cools the switch opens and causes the spike voltage. Are you saying its normally closed?

    • @cestemshow
      @cestemshow  2 роки тому +4

      its a simplified explanation. yes they start open, quickly close due to current flow causing electrodes to bed into each other, voltage shorts out to supply then cool and open again and allow now excited tube to receive full ballast voltage and strike..

    How many fluorescent lights actually have a capacitor ? Where is it located in the light

    • @cestemshow
      @cestemshow  6 місяців тому +1

      Most older ones. Modern ones have a hf unit all enclosed.
      If they have one they connect it across the supply terminals.

      Yeah I played it to my students and they looked baffled..... Epic fail 😔. I thought I'd broke it down enough. I really like putting it all together because the text books rarely do that but I'm not sure anyone else cares 😂

      @@cestemshow I watched it back again earlier, and the penny dropped I think!!🤣 that’s the beauty of watching on a video, you can rewind it until you get it, all your videos are really appreciated, thanks 🙏

    So is a ballast literally just a coil, or is it a transformer that steps up the voltage? Is there a way to test the voltages of a ballast? Or do I have to pull it all apart and ohm it for a short like everyone else shows in their videos. I came here just looking for the output voltage of a ballast. lol ... brought me back to my electronic days in vo-tech in 2000.. so I subbed

    • @cestemshow
      @cestemshow  Рік тому +1

      Its just a coil. Never tried to measure the output voltages when striking? I will have a think and get back to you

    @18:38 btw you could have just multiplied by C capacitor value and divided by the 450 resistor value.
    Edit: seems like you did it on purpose so nvm

    Thenks to the "Made in CHINA" phylosofy.
    ... - we don't need to know anything - just go and by entire new unit and screw it onto the wall. Lol...
    I am just fixing bunch of thise thrown out. Freebies. Lol...
    Nice math lesson...
    Makes me thinking of Pitagoras from SAMOS.
    He created first comunist utopian colony... but that is for another video.

    It's a little silly to use A for amps and I for current on the same board.
    Pick one and stick to it. lol

      Difference between the symbol for current and the units measurements of current. Catches out most of my students at the start :-)
