Very thorough and detailed. Really appreciate the quick cuts. Keeps the video from getting boring😴. And I'm glad you showed the magician first. Most videos show the install but they skip the cloning. That seems important
Great video. I just installed a Samsung 870QVO using information from this video. Everything went smoothly no problems. Thanks for putting this out there.
Thanks for video! But, why AHCI is deactivated? Your Windows was instaled on Legacy? Samsung told that AHCI must activated in order to Clone and run Magician. Tell me about, please.
Thanks so much! That means a lot! Didn't know I would get such a positive reaction on this video!! I was only helping out family with it, so I decided to film, so glad I've helped so many people, thanks for watching!! :)
Thanks so much! I really appreciate it! A lot of work went into this one, but it will vary from PC to PC. As they are all different, but the important parts are there!
we have the same ssd.my problem is when i scanned in the samsung magician, i says no drive scanned. what do you think the problem bro? Thanks in advance
Hey, I was wondering if you could be a bit more specific on the BIOS boot, I didn't really see what completely happened there because you cut almost everything out, could you describe it to me more in depth please? Otherwise a very helpful, easy to follow video!
Sorry about that! All you need to do, is make your SSD a priority boot! So restarting your PC and click del or F1 or whatever your bios needs to boot in! Then you need to go to boot options and assign the right SSD. Make sure it's #1 so it always boots to your new OS on your SSD drive!
You show a boot device at position 1 which is labeled as (Removable Device) with a note on the right side saying device enclosed in parenthesis is disabled. Can you please explain that
If I am trying to install the SSD for extra space only (i.e. my OS is on the integral 500g SSD and I am looking to add another 500g SSD), how does the config differ?
Nope! It doesn't! Sorry I didn't say that in the video, the cable is linked in the description! But you don't need it, I just think it's nice to have and easier to install and troubleshoot
I can see the disk EVO 870 from my HP laptop by a SATA to USB cable. (window 10 OS) But I can not see once open the Samsung migration tool. And, once I open the samsung software, it just disable the ssd ? any reasons?
Oh ya, you'll get way faster speeds, along with better reliability, HDD always fails eventually. Faster boot up, and overall better performance. It's the #1 upgrade I would recommend anyone doing!
Nope! It'll work automatically out of the box, but you can choose later to update your ssd drive through Samsung magician, and add over provisioning! Which I recommend to give it more life in the future!
@@TechAfterDark I'm having a problem where windows is crashing whenever I play certain games. Some games I can play for hours and it's fine but some games will crash after like an hour and if I try it again right away it will crash even sooner. If I uninstall and reinstall the game it will work again like the first time, about an hour, but it will still crash eventually. This only seems to happen with games that have more demanding graphics. I'm using a ryzen 5 2400G with the integrated graphics so it doesn't take much to max out my graphics but I'm getting the problem even with games that I had never had a problem with when I had my old SSD. This all started when I upgraded from a ADATA SU800 256GB to my Samsung 870 EVO 1TB SSD. At first I tried using the data migration software to clone the drive and eventually windows kept crashing to the point where Windows wouldn't even start anymore. So I did a clean reinstall using a USB drive and I'm still getting this problem. I don't know what else it could be. I was hoping it would be a simple thing like needing to update drivers for my Samsung SSD but I could find no info about having to do that. It might be formatted already for use with pc by default! :) But ya, you can definitely format it before if you want a specified format for your device!
Would you recommend this Samsung 870 EVO SSD in the 4TB form for Storing 4K 60Fps content? I have an NVME for my operating system and my software. So basically when I get done editing everything and it starts to render, it would be stored in the SSD. I currently have a 2TB HDD but it's Super Slow vs the NVME, I just got a new PC. I did all steps up until when I tried to power up the computer with the new samsung ssd connected, it wouldn't boot the bios, tried all f keys and delete. Checked the cable as well. What could have gone wrong?
I plugged in the SSD to USB and refresh but it does not recognize the SSD. The USB port is good!
What else can I do?
