What is sad is that Iran was so westernized till the revolt in the late 70s. Yes, I understand the issues they were having, but they regressed so far.

Yup, sadly 90% of people have no idea what you mean though, stupidest time in history.

So will u agree EXTREME actions will only court EXTREME.
In the case of Iran, a democratically elected goverment was toppled down, in its place an extreme bling-bling King was installed.
This gave way for Extremist chance to popularize its ideology to masses whom is in despair.

Agreed, "most peaceful"
In Singapore, the caning punishment is to set an example so people will not do the crime.
But the caning happened with medical staff presence to ensure the person getting caned will be alright after getting one strike of the cane. It not like they are getting hit non stop.

Instead of eradicating economic problems and poverty and creating jobs for young people, the current seyed arab ayatollah regime in iran is waiting for people to steal and cut off their hands.
Women are still imprisoned and flogged here for not wearing headscarves.
Many here wish that the 1979 revolution in Iran would never happen and that ayatollah seyed Khomeini would never come to Iran and Iran was never taken hostage by radical Islamist Arabs, We Persians hate the Arabs and their Islam, we are not Arabs, the Arabs are not belong to Iran and Iran does not belong to the Arabs.
Most people here prefer the US invasion of Iran to living under the shadow of the current cruel repressive regime of Iran.
70% of Iran's population of 80 million are against the regime and only 30% of those mercenaries in power who receive money agree with the regime.
People here wish they could one day seek refuge in foreign countries.

There is something common between almost all the countries... it is upto the intelligent to identify and judge 😉
Wise Words
You can go and check the crime rate over there, then judge. Harsh punishments shiver the people intending to commit a crime and they won't do it because of fear. When punishments are normal people don't really care, cuz they know If I get caught it won't be a big deal.

@@itarry4 But people who are already dead cant confirm that now, can they?
@@itarry4 you cant just take everything one side says, without the comfirmation from the other you know. People who suffer indeed want it to end. But what about the people who ended. They cant tell you if they rather suffered
I kinda feel like I'd prefer 6 hits from the cane than a few years in prison. I guess it all depends on your pain tolerance and whether or not violence bothers you. Violence bothers me a lot less than being kept in a cell all day. However, that's just me what do people think of the cane compared to prison time?

When it comes to caning in Singapore, there are certain conditions that have to be met before a criminal can be caned. For one, caning is only done on men; if women commit serious crimes, they serve a longer sentence in lieu of being caned. Two, caning is reserved for serious crimes or, unofficially, blood was spilled, such as causing grievous harm in the act of a burglary or theft. Three, the criminal has to be able-bodied (meaning no illnesses or ailments like diabetes) and aged between 19ish to 50 before the judge will permit a caning sentence.
The reason why Singapore gets a bad reputation for caning is due to wannabe activists trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, concealing parts of the truth or outright lying to garner attention. Speaking as a citizen of my country, but to these so-called activists looking for clout, either do your homework before tooting your horns, or pick up a new hobby, cause you want attention, be careful what you wish for when you blatantly lie about something, only to discover the truth of the matter and it's too late to recant statements.

Is there some correlation between quality of education and the prevalence of these types of punishment?
😃
I don't think so. You can be highly educated but some of this stuff is just law being enforced and you can do nothing about it
As some who has recently began practicing a bullwhip as a hobby, I can tell you lashing at supersonic speeds is a whole new kind of pain I've only experienced lightly on my arms and legs. A light whip is enough to break skin, I can only imagine 100 lashes. It's not like normal blunt striking.

Punishments are meant to make criminals realize right and wring and help them correct themselves. NOT TO RUIN THEIR LIVES. Seriously, amputation and execution aren't even "punishments". They are just ways to ruin a life so that others who are watching will not repeat the mistake.
I dont think i ever want to visit the middle east
You need to read about the laws of a country before you go. This should go for every country in my opinion.
Love the videos keep it up!!!
Nothing will change in those countries until religion is removed (except northkorea for obvious reasons). You may encounter here and there a more relaxed leader...but if the mob demands those punishments (which they do because they don't have education) he will give in to them. Because they help him keep sitting on the throne. None of those countries leaders would risk power in saying "eeh well thats a bit much for punishment, let's NOT do this.". And so the vicious circle spins and spins and spins deeper.
