I think as our modern society has evolved, the powers that be have learned over years and years of experimentation to craft an advertising/marketing playbook that aims to condition us to ignore the imagination and creativity we once had as children. Because without this creativity and imagination, it leaves whitespace in both our conscious and unconscious minds for them to push whatever agenda or fantasy they want-to feed our shadows, and ultimately profit off people moving away from their own individuation. I’ve heard it said that children are made of 2 things. Rubber and magic😂 rubber because when injured they cry but bounce back without becoming cynical. Magic because of their powers of hope and imagination removing the difference between fiction and nonfiction. I wish we could have that as easily as kids do, maybe then we wouldn’t have so many movies and video games set in dystopian futures where practically becomes our biggest strength as well as weakness. After seeing what the power of hope can do for Kratos in God of War 3, I’ve realised how powerful hope can make a person Kratos turns from man to deity with hope, Superman’s chest symbol means hope, hope lead to Arnie in Predator 1 to say “if it bleeds, we can kill it” In short: Hope good, cynicism bad
