noticed that midway of this climb he paused to view the valley below. .i can see the peace in his eyes. .no fear, no inhibition just savoring the inner contentment of being there. .he's simply like a yogi in a trance his astral body was projected out there in the limitless of space. .incomparable
+Mr. Sloth still, freak accidents can happen like he could injure himself, get his foot stuck in a crack, a huge gust of wind could hit him at the worst possible time, a freak storm could come in, a bird could come at him, who knows what.
Alex doesn't feel fear to anywhere near the same extent as the vast majority of people do, tests he has had done on his brain show this. Many people can physically train to do what Alex does, but few can do it in the fearless way he does.
For most climbs, you can hike down from other side of the mountain. For this spire, the only way would be to downclimb, or to have someone else climb with rope bringing equipment (the TV crew), and then rappel down.
did you not notice that there were camera men with him? how else would he have gotten filmed? other people went up with gear, recorded him, and then he used gear to get down.
Yes and lol.. i should have stated ..When he is by himself.. (No crews) I know he does test runs b4 he solos so maybe he leaves ropes.. I dunno sry .. Didnt mean to ask a Dum question..
Dok olaxer he will climb these routes dozens of times with rope and gear before he does a free solo attempt, so they will leave needed equipment at the top of the route to descend. Plus I’m sure since he’s sponsored climber they will hire a chopper during these shoots to get him down
You should live your life the way you want to live. Either if it's by religion and living your life through the bible, or doing what Alex is doing, doing what your calling is and actually giving life meaning. Life is meant to be adventures and death shouldn't be feared, death is as important as birth. Everyone dies, so live long and prosperous.
@@hahmmo It can be done, as long as the route can be downclimbed (it's harder to climb down than up). Or you need people to climb with rope (the tv crew here), bringing gear, and then rappel down. But for most climbs on big mountains, there are other ways to the top where you can hike down.

Alex isn't at the edge of death. He knows what he's doing, and he only free solos things he feels comfortable on.

2:07 holy-sh**. Now that's the move, dangling by eight fingers w/nothing but air underneath you. Freeze that in your mind. This is fun for him.
That is simply amazing to watch.
how does he climb down?
OK - How does he get down?

And I would add, a very few can DO what they WANT.
He is privileged!!!
Damn, apparently lots of people here haven't heard of helicopters

he said he does not believe in religion but he didn't say he does not believe in god. So he probably does believe in god
No he doesnt.
God is a construct of religion. He doesn't believe in a god but probably recognizes it has some possibility. He's too intelligent to think otherwise.
He doesn't believe in fairy tales... he is intelligent enough
There is no death with Jesus only life!.
Jesus and Ala and jupiter and zeus and horus are all the same. Stories for people who fears death... grow up
@YungKTV there's nothing to prove. its the same as if I said "prove dragons dont exist".
Jesus is the way and the truth and the life!.
death gives meaning to life
how did he go back down?
Kind of obvious since a helicopter was used to shoot the video.
@@davidcarty6616 / so this kind of climbing can't be done without a helicopter?
