For what was once called 'Bad' the Lord calls 'Good'" (The Book of Bono Ch1 verse 40).
Been thinking about switching to a dedicated delay pedal. I like the idea of banking all of our worship songs with the song titles displayed along with the tap tempo. Great video.
This video is so much helpful, No frills and straight to the point. By the way what kind guitar of you are using here and type of overdrive as well, cause you make it fit on the certain song you are playing 👌🏼🎸🎶
Ever Heard About Marco Barrientos, because his guitarist uses strymon timeline. Could you hear couple of songs from 2012 to now and make a video using some of his delays he does in his songs.
Sir Peter.. i like how you mixed the effects of your pedals like delay with overdrive and with reverb.. can you teach us how to mix these effects together to form a beautiful sound.. please Sir.. thank you
How do you go about tapping the tempo when live? because i find it difficult to tap the tempo accurately in between song end and when i come in for an intro that needs a dotted eighth delay
It's hard to tap a dotted delay without your pedal having a dotted 8th setting. If your pedal does have a dotted 8th setting that would allow you to tap the tempo as 1/4 notes and still be synced to dotted 8th. The only other way I found to set dotted 8th with a tap is to have something like the timeline or helix that allows you to save presets. If you're able to save presets you can divide the tempo by 3, then add that to the original tempo and tap it as 1/4 notes. As an example - if the song is 86 bpm, 86 divided 3 is 28.6666666666667 + 86 = 114.6666666666667 - input that into your metronome and tap it as 1/4 notes.
Wow great video can you please show me how you get dotted delay on the timeline i have been searching on youtube and haven't able too figure it out The other video were saying use the duel setting n stuff thanks in advance 😀😀😀
Yeah it takes some time to work out how to use the Timeline. To set the delay type, push the "Value" button (it will show "Params" on the screen); Push it again, then turn the knob clockwise and scroll through until you find "Tapdiv"; Push the button again, and you will see the delay options ("dotted", "qrtr", "8th" etc) as you scroll through. Select "dotted" and push the button again. That's how you select dotted eight delay. Hope you can figure it out.
Peter, Great video! One question, when you set your delays for the specific song, example Revelation Song, do you leave it on the entire time or just when you’re playing the lead lines? Thanks for any information. Cheers.
@@petemalins Thanks brotha ❤️ Umm last question hehe in using both the quarter note & dotted 8 note is the feedback and mix of both delays are the same??
Cameron Beswitherick Yeah I understand the feeling. I was fortunate enough to basically get it as a gift! If you are a competent guitarist who plays almost every week, and often use many different types of DELAY settings, it's certainly convenient to store presets for every song
john Actually, for your information, I didn’t spend a cent of the church’s money - the Strymon Timeline was a very generous gift from someone. So you might want to be more careful before being quick to pass judgment on someone else.
john you know what they say about assuming, pretty sure you were proven to be without knowledge on this one. I play in a Worship band, every effect, guitar and amp I have, was purchased with my own money. If a church decided to invest in quality equipment for their Worship team, it’s really nobody’s business.

Finally a good video on using delays! So many video's out there are really a waste of time. Thank you so much Peter! Well done!!!
keoni927 Thanks so much for the encouraging feedback!
Your vids are always so useful! Very thankful for them. Keep it up!

Thanks! Yeah one of the advantages of the Timeline is saving all your presets
@@petemalins How many presets can it save?
@@Jennboi The Timeline has 100 banks, with 2 presets per bank.

Thank you soooo much!! I've been looking at delay pedals, and this was SOO helpful!!
Peter Deuth You’re welcome! I’m glad it was helpful
Great vídeo! Greetings from Brasil
Thank you! Blessings!
This demo was very helpful. Can you do the same but with Drives?, Thanks
Hi Peter, good job and thanks for share your knowledge. Could you advice me about What Pedalboard may I buy?. I'm a beginner, god bless you!
Can you do a video on overdrives?

a few years late but I use i use BPM x 1.333 which is also close to your calculation
yeah so my dd3t does not do dotted 8th notes when I do what your saying. It still stays in 1/4 notes?

What a great video, do you have the bpms for each of the songs, so i could really dial them in like yours especialy the lion and the lamb
Mark Thomas Thanks! Lion & the Lamb is 90bpm. You can Google search the bpm for most worship songs
Hi! Can you save dotted 8th preset on dd-7? For example, use it on verse, then turn down on chorus, and turn on for verse 2?
No unfortunately you can't save presets on the DD7
Are you able to share your timeline presets?
What overdrive are you using? Other effects?
One reason why i cant replicate how they play it is because i have only 1 delay.. Maybe next year ill get another if ive earned enough
Peter,

Hi Keith! Good question. It really depends on the song, but if it's a simple delay, I normally leave it on the entire song.
Hi Peter ..how to get 16 note delayon boss dd7
These are the 2 delay pedals that I own
Hi Guy ! Im french worship guitarist. I'd like to know the name of thé first song you played ! Great tuto be bless
Gaetan Benard The first song is "Lion and the Lamb" by Leeland and Bethel
@@petemalins thanks i found it in french that's so great love this song !
Hey dude..may i ask in setting up that kind of bouncy slow dotted 8 delay does the feedback higher than the mix??
Thanks for the response.
Actually normally the mix is higher than the feedback
@@petemalins Thanks brotha ❤️

Dsmooth81 No just the 1st & 2nd strings together
I don't get how you could use delay pedals for BDSM
what is your OD pedals here?
To be honest I can't remember exactly. I might have been using an MI Audio Blue Boy Overdrive at that time.
What amp are you using? Great vid btw!😊
Jimmy Lindgren Peavey Classic 30 tube amp

OD with Delay?
What guitar did you use in this video?
TheForcedMiner Gibson Les Paul (USA)
One enne two enne.
I use it with my Ukelele.
What is the name of song 10:45??
Beniamin Popa “Your Love Awakens Me” by Phil Wickham
just get Axe Fx 2. Threw out all pedal and Rack. It it even better than TC2290.
I am really suprised
thinking about making the jump to the Strymon but not sure if I can bring myself to spend that much on a pedal
Cameron Beswitherick Yeah I understand the feeling. I was fortunate enough to basically get it as a gift!
If you are a competent guitarist who plays almost every week, and often use many different types of DELAY settings, it's certainly convenient to store presets for every song
Wow what a blessing! The presets may be the deciding factor for me.
Cameron Beswitherick Yeah but you could always go a cheaper option, like the Boss DD20 or DD500, or TC Electronic Nova delay
I have a Nova Delay and an EHX Canyon right now. May also be a good idea to consolidate into one pedal. Nova Delay is good but its not a Timeline :)
Cameron Beswitherick Oh cool. Well the other option is obviously the Boss DD500 which is cheaper
Stranger things music 12:34
david pineda hahaha is here as in heaven
