Rajaji National Park
Rajaji National Park is distinct for its pristine scenic beauty and rich bio-diversity. A paradise for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, the wildlife of the park is blessed with elephants, tigers, leopards, deers and ghorals as its best-known life forms. Three sanctuaries in the Uttarakhand, Shivaliks - Rajaji, Motichur and Chila were amalgamated into a large protected area and named Rajaji National Park in the year 1983 after the famous freedom fighter Late Sri C. Rajgopalachari; popularly known as “Rajaji”.
Patna Waterfall
Patna Waterfall is named after the small village where this waterfall is located. Waterfall is accessible by 1.5 km tough trek. There is not much water in this waterfall but it is certainly a beautiful place. There are small limestone caves near the waterfall. Waterfall is open throughout the year. Patna waterfall is just 7 km far from Lakshman Jhula. From Lakshman Jhula take Neelkanth Road. From the bridge on the Ganga, the base of waterfall is 2.5 km far. There are small tea shops on the road in front of the trek beginning. There are no signboards so you can ask the people to confirm. From the road, it is 1.5 km trek one way.
Kunjapuri Temple
Kunjapuri Temple 30 minutes drive from Rishikesh, lies the Kunjapuri temple at a height of 1700 m which is one of the greatest tourist places in Rishikesh. It is an easy trek to the top of the temple, but once you conquer it, the view of the sunrise amidst the mighty Himalaya and Doon valley on the south will leave you awe-struck.
