That single action when roach grabbed Shepard made in even harder to watch
Ye
i know
You people are idiots
And he didn't even care... 😢
@@Nick-wg4bf I don't comprehend how justified sympathy has any correlation with low intelligence.
The fact that Price's message was about a minute too late. 😭
Sure price was a hard person but he cared about his team… he was just always too late
It wasn't late. Shephard coordinated the attacks to happen at the same time
@@cottonmather8146 I don't think you read what they said correctly, when price tried to contact ghost it was too late.
@@iyazae8656 It was too late because Shephard intentionally timed his own attack at both Estate and Boneyard to happen at the same time, so they couldn't warn each other. That's not hard to understand.
@@cottonmather8146 That doesn't change the fact that price was still late to tell them???
What makes this sene even better is Ghosts reaction when roach was shot,
“NO”
Followed by a failed attempt to raise his rifle. Ghosts first reaction was to save roach no matter what, he truly was a loyal and good soldier.
“scene”
He raised his rifle in the og aswell
Ghost needed amped
I mean, Roach and Ghost were both SAS, Shepard is American, Ghost had no issues with killing Shepard because he has no affiliation with him other than being an Ally.
I remember on COD wikia from 2009 or 2010, that Ghost and Roach were close is one of the reasons why he was shocked and saddened to see him killed.
One of the saddest scenes in Call of Duty history.
The soundtrack makes you feel like something is wrong, sounding tragic.
You fight off makarov’s forces, and head to extraction. You see Shepard, giving you a signal of hope.
Then, a flash of betrayal.
The saddest fucking shit man 😭
I'll tell ya one thing for free, the music at the start of the mission after this mixed with Price and Soap talking about how they are gunna kill Shepard gave me goosebumbs and got pumped for revenge lol
Coup de Grace is such a tragic song, the music contributed to over half of the feels in that scene for me
What makes this even sadder is how Roach's last moments was being burned alive next to his friend, his comrade, who is unconscious/dead and not feeling or seeing their true end.
Yeah i agree seeing ghost get shot bro made me feel sad
man, in the old version i cried, in this remastered version... i cried.
IN HD LOL
draken page i cried in hd hahaha
@@lukitatron lol,
Do you have the dsm?
Ghost: YES SIR WE GOT IT-

Shepherd: *pushes roach away
Soldier 1 & 2: *throws roach and ghost*
Soldier 1: *throws gasoline on roach and ghost*
Shepherd: *throws cigaret at them*

In the reboot of MW2 if that will exist...
I'll cry in 2029
the remastered I did cried even know I did play the old one but the graphics were unbelievable and it looks more realistic.

*Price.
That always got me hearing "DO NOT TRUST SHEPARD!"
Nah I think he’s talking about Soap saying “DOES ANYONE COPY?”
@@scpfoundation8597 Soap doesn't say anything at all this cutscene
It's Price yelling at Soap saying to not trust Shepherd
@@java_.1. He's thinking of the mission afterward where you play as Soap in the boneyard fighting both Makarov and Shepherd's men. The cutscene before has Soap attempting to call Ghost and Roach before Price stops him. However they're pretty much more than dead at that point.
The way shepherd shoves roach away. It just shows how little he actually values his soldiers. He says he’s a patriot but sacrifices his one soldiers without even honoring them. He says he does what is necessary for victory, but the disrespect he has for his own troops just shows how he only values power over patriotism.
He doesn't shove him
Roach: P-Please D-dont d-do this"
Sheperd: Go to hell"
They weren't his men though. Roach, Ghost, Soap, and Price are all British SAS while Shepard is U.S supreme commander.
Well they were but they weren't American so they probably don't count as his in his mind.
@@pinkstarmona1695 Yeah, they were just under his command for the time being, not really "his men".
Losing 40,000 men from a nuke does things. Then again he launched Danger Close with his men in the area.

Thank you
after watching this again i hate shepherd with a burning passion and throwing a knife in his eye is so much more satisfying
@EggGaming yeah shepherd is the GOD
1:00 that single addition of Roach grabbing Shepherd's wrist as in saying "Why, Why did you do it?" Made this way more sad then the original
He didn’t even have the power to say anything, even then shepherd wouldn’t have answered, it shows how much he just dosnt care.
@@linkibear8644he only didn't say anything because this was before they actually let the characters talk instead of being silent. I'm glad they don't do that anymore because I never liked that.

That animation of Roach grabbing Shepherd's arm is very powerful and emotional.
True
The real tragedy is the fact that so many people don't know that Hans Zimmer himself composed this game's entire soundtrack!! He absolutely nails the music in this moment, and it's stuck with me ever since.
I think he did only the main theme along with a few other tracks.. I think he had a protege who composed the majority of the soundtrack. I could be wrong though
@@charlesa6142 that was the case for Crysis 2, but MW2's entire soundtrack was composed by him, and I haven't found any sources that claim he was assisted by another, uncredited composer
@@willemneill5418 no kidding, that’s awesome! No wonder why it went so hard. Really, it had no business being that good. It made MW3’s soundtrack seem just a bit over mediocre. I totally coulda googled it but was lazy

Just imagine how awkward it would’ve been if Shepherd shot Roach and when he was about to shoot Ghost, his gun got jammed or was out of ammo
Shepherd would’ve received a Columbian necktie

@Azazel-_xl revolvers can jam
@Azazel-_xl any gun can jam in wrong environments(such as underwater) and pretty much any gun can jam after lots of use without maintenance,
@@Charlie94781 but isnt Shepherd pretty good at hand to hand too? i mean, he beat Price in hand to hand and pretty much Soap too at the end of the game
1:52 “The deepest circle of hell is reserved for betrayers and mutineers.” Captain Jack Sparrow
Notice how Shepard doesn't ask Ghost and Roach are they okay or wounded, the first thing he asks about is the only thing he is interested in, the DSM. You already knew that their lives mean nothing to him the moment he steps out of that Pave Low helicopter.
0:55 our boi ghost brought his gun out, but sheperd pulled the trigger first :(

Sad gamer moment
I didn’t play this game as a kid…but this still hit me in the feels.
Shepard looks way more evil in this game and the arm grab made the betrayal feel more real
The way roach grabs shepherd's arm before death gets the heart strings for me
This is better than the “New” Shepard’s betrayal in 2022 Modern warfare 2 Reboot
The "Alone" Mission makes me suspect that soap or ghost will die in the 3rd one. I'm scared as to how, when and how sad it will be.
Me: I wont cry that much this time
1:00 also me: *starts bawling harder than the first time*
They say a funeral hit the hardest for men…but this…this hits the hardest
I like how when he says "good, that's one les loose end" ghost turns his head puzzled like in the original.
Roach didn't grab Shepherd's arm in the original did he? I like the change. I think Ghost reacting to Shepherd's loose ends comment is new too, love the remastering.
No. He didn't grab Shepherd's arm in the original
Tik toker: it's just a prank
The prank:
The fact that Ghost’s immediate instinct was to shoot Shepherd after he shoots Roach. That hits hard.
1:26 Captain Price: Ghost! Come in, this is Price! We're under attack by Shepherd's men in the boneyard! Soap, hold the left flank! Do not trust Shepherd! I'll say again, do not trust Shepherd! Soap, get down!
this fills me with rage and it makes me feel I can accomplish anything.
I remember I screamed "No!" When this happened and my dad came into the room and saw Shepard burning roach alive
Imaging getting hit point blank by a .44. Ouch
Watching the original:
*Cries*
Watching the remastered version:
*Cries in HD*
I got chills when Shepard flicked the cigar into roach and ghost, watching that part never gets any easier than it was in '09.
So much better than the new Modern warfare 2.
Emotion is what's missing from the new ones and this is the perfect example. Will never forget this moment
The crazy thing is Price’s message wasn’t late at all. Shepard deliberately set it up so he got the DSM before the betrayal was committed.
This how it feels when your brother or cousin give a controller that doesn’t work .
Hearing what price says tells you “if you stalled for JUST a little longer”
Goddamn..this game.
There was no way to warn them earlyer. Shepherd waited until he got the DSM so he told his people to attack them. And price didn't know what happend so he tried to warn them but without knowing that they are already dead
The betrayal still hits me to this day... It was the shocking moment.
Every death in modern warfare 2 is heartfelt, but I bawled my eyes out when ghost and roach died
This is why I have trust issues today
I played this game in 2011 it made me cry and My dad checked on me. I told him "you won't get it".
When I played the remastered, I'll be honest with you. I cried more than before. My dad checked on me and I showed him why I was crying. He gets it.😢😭
time to kill shepherd with mods
Once it releases on PC that's gonna be the first thing I do
For a call of duty game to have a shocking moment like this and still hurts years later is very impressive
no one could have resisted the amount of sadness, this cutscene has.
I will never forget my first playthrough of the original and seeing this scene
back when they were able to put out descent campaigns..😢😢
So nobody will talk about shepherd looking and behaving like hitler?
Omfg I just commented that on another vid
Wait WHAT?
This scene gave me PTSD whenever I hear the name Shepard...
That scene is so powerful, no difference Old version or Remastered...

The way ghost snaps back to look at shepherd when he say one less loose end. Fuck gets me everytime. That second it clicks in his mind that something is off.
I like the old Ghost better, because he actually shows emotion instead of just bitterness
Like when Roach gets shot Ghost yells "No"
ROACH!!!
😭
damn, all that for a wifi router?!
Maybe those gigabit speeds are worth it
Price's warning coming just a moment too late makes it even more sad.
You know, this actually makes me kinda glad that the betrayal in the reboot wasn't as effective because it means our crew didn't die. Hoepfully it sticks.
0:46 - PTSD
One of the few times males cry hard and loud without people telling them to man up
(I legit cried, join me, it’s good to cry... but in all seriousness F Shepherd)
"The Enemy Of My Enemy Is My Friend"
It woulda been so sad if he said "I dont even smoke"
Great, now we gotta watch the 'Red Wedding' equivalent betrayal in all of video games in a higher resolution and higher definition.
1:47 this part got me
Another small detail in remastered is when Shepherd says "That's one less loose end" Ghost realizes something's wrong 😢
0:54 Me when I'm low on ammo in a Call of Duty campaign and I see an Ally who isn't important to the story
I remember the strong feeling of anger when I played in '13 my complete body was frozen and just replaced by more anger in the next missions until I could kill shepherd.. One of the best story-points in video game history.
this scene hits soo hard it makes me cry.
I swear, IW was like: How can we make it even more sad?
1:00
POV: you’re a cinematographer for Rust
Yo...
We remember, we mourn.
Imagine if ghosts draw was faster than shepherds.
the storytelling in this game was peak call of duty
That was probably the saddest seen other than soups death
Don salieri sends his regards
I remember when my older sister showed this to me years ago. I laugh so hard back then. But this still got me.
Price trying to warn them too late gets me everytime
Just when you thought they couldn't make the scene more heart breaking....they added Roach's hand grabbing Shepherd's arm
The one thing that makes me wonder when I was playing this campaign. Why didn't Roach nor Ghost became suspicious of the Shadow Company soldiers. They just went all oh there probably just back up or some sort of reinforcements and didn't become curious like wait why are they wearing black vest or we don't recall the Task Force wearing black vest. Still til this very day it's one of the most confusing plot of the game itself. But still an awesome game both original and remastered.
Still RIP Ghost and Roach
This was the first MW game I played back in the day when I was around 10 in 2010. It was my uncle's game for the Xbox 360 and even though I was pretty much underaged, he was cool with me playing it, not GTA 4 though lol. I know its just a video game but the first time caught me off-guard obviously, I pretty much had the wtf reaction. One question slipped out. 'Why?'. I remember being a mix of pissed and sad because I really dig the Ghost and Roach duo and I liked working under Shephard. Made watching the blade of my knife lodged in Shepherds skull really satisfying. Watching this the 2nd time, even though I knew this was gonna happen, it felt like opening fresh wounds again. adding the new animation for Roach was a nice touch. Maybe its the nostalgia. This however will forever be the most iconic moment in COD. This and watching the OG SAS/USMC Coalition team die in MW1 was rough. MW was the best series COD made and I played all except post- Infinite Warfare. Remember dont trust Shepherd..
When I first played mw2 and saw this when I was 10 and I cryed now I’m
16 and now bring back memories
The sound when Shepard flicked his cigar smh this scene will always have a special place in my heart
I always loved the look of Shepherd's troops.
Although I never played MW2, I still found it sad that your general betrays you, there is always a snake :(
ive watched this scene multiple times over the years and i still get a little teary
