I don't agree with some of your statements. While the batons don't deal nearly enough damage, you must remember, that Black Widow is not a melee character after all, it would not make sense for the batons to deal as much damage as melee characters do. They deal decent enough damage to finish off enemies easily. As shown in your video, the "finishing" combo you are talking about is not that great. You say a lot of things, but it would be nice if you could back them up with actions. You have to be quite amazing at aiming in order to achieve that what you said and if you are then that combo becomes irrelevant anyways. Taking out the sniper after using your E has a significant delay, which is higher than the stun duration of your second E proc. Meanwhile taking out the batons has little to no delay and you can always hit at least twice with it, which is more than enough damage to finish off enemies at low health. The sniper is of course preferred if the enemies are nearly full hp. Though in some situations against ranged 250hp characters you can usually combine your E with batons to fully kill such an enemy without taking out the sniper, as being melee range makes it hard for them to hit you as well. Moreover, Black Widow is indeed a weak character and I don't understand where you are taking that statement for her being amazing from. I do main her because I like her, but we need to be realistic, she's nowhere nearly enough as strong AND versatile as Hela, and is also weaker than Hawkeye. There is not a single reason to pick her over Hela or Hawkeye, except for her body, which doesn't really help you in fights (unless you are weirdly motivated by her looks..). This is also the reason why there are barely a few top 500 players that main her.
Lol wild statement. Your opinions aren't wrong. But im also not amazing at aiming and follow up with that 1 trick combo all the time. You absolutely can carry the team with her if you aren't bad at aiming. Her batons are actually a death sentence against heros like iron fist, black panther, and wolverine. But the combo I talk about is very very doable and will shut them down if performed correctly. Widow is a high skill hero and Hawkeye is going to be nerfed 100% her mobility is better and if you aren't bad at the game you can out perform Hawkeye consistently. Top 500 players hold genuinely no value in your argument because they only use the most strong heros. Widow may not be the strongest hero in the game, but in the right hands you can make it look that way.
She may not be the best but i like her due to her cold badass character and because she's voiced by Laura Bailey not everyone is a gooner you know to just play her for her body which you cant see most of the times because of 1st person aiming anyway
Her fastest one shot combo is against melee characters. Hipfire headshot + melee. It instakills squishies at full health. Her second fastest is also against melee characters. Baton + Baton + E + E + Hipfire with sniper. This one gets rid of the reload delay every one is worried about. Also, another tip: you can hipfire with no delay or damage falloff even when you’re sprinting or superjumping. This makes her good at being mobile while still being able to do the same amount of damage. Keep in mind tho that her hipfire halves its damage starting at 15 meters, so its best used against enemies within that range. While she looks like a pure sniper, she’s also effective if you use your sprint and superjump to play around the enemy team, fighting 1v1s.
Very true. But if you're too close to iron fist for example and he blocks your melee, you're pretty much cooked without a healer pocketing you. That's why the hipfire ends up being a more viable option imo. The batons aren't strong enough to blow through utility. Whereas her hipfire is unpredictable for characters like iron fist or Hawkeye to counter. Which opens up your combo more consistently. Plus you have the distance needed to sprint and jump to heals when ironfist does block the combo. Just how I've felt playing her. I've absolutely tried to get the batons to work, but its a way more predictable attack that melee heros take advantage of. A good iron fist seeing the batons out = an instakill on black widow by blocking the combo.
@ Widow shouldn’t be challenging characters like Iron Fist, Black Panther, or Magik. 8 times outta 10 they’ll melt her. She can use her hipfire + melee to instakill them, but their mobility usually outperforms your aim so a headshot isnt guaranteed. Preferably, she uses her sprint to find and target other squishies - like the enemy backlines, which almost never has those characters around.
Agreed you shouldn't be challenging them. But when a widow gets annoying the first thing their team is going to do, is pick those dive melee heros to go bully her. This combo is your best bet to survive those situations. Pretty sure I never said that you should challenge them in the video. But this is a tip for if you have no choice but to fight them. Also with my aim settings in the video you'll have the best chance to hit your shots. Primary reason for making the video is im still able to play her really effectively even when being dove on because of this combo. If you look at a ton of the other comments aside from people trying to correct me, the people who have taken the tip into practice agree that it works better and you can survive more effectively. I appreciate the comments for sure. But I just think there's something lost in translation for what this video and tip is supposed to be used for. Lol.
Dude, thank you so much! Your settings for the aim feels so much better. I play on console and you didn't give an exact number but I've been using your settings so I'm just getting used to them
I really enjoy playing black widow, she's versatile, very mobile. ( i actually had some issues with hawkeye because of his mobility) you can play around her powered up jump and try to shoot the backline from above while, and with a good team she can demolish and clean up or help doing dmg. but if you're not good at aiming don't go for her. I tell my team after locking her that if it doesn't work i'll just change and play support if someone really wants to play dps but i always try her.
Lol playing black widow like this wins my team a lot of fights. If healers and brawlers are dead in the backline the rest of my team can steamroll through. Additionally I'm never out of view of healers in this video. 😆
I really wish they would improve her scoped shot and melee abilities. When a Iron Fist gets on you, you are cooked, that guys sticks to every piece of shit in a 1km radius, his tracking is just silly in this game.
i get the batons dont do a lot of damage, but doesnt the one shot combo do better if you pull the batons after shooting? like hipfire > kick > equip baton > grapple > attack. the sniper is still in delay after shooting, while the batons are instantaneous to equip (i tested it). the baton is very fast and has enough damage to finish of the combo more reliably of course this doesn't apply if you didn't stun them.
In theory yes. However in game it usually doesn't work that way. After the grapple kick enemies regain movement and some of them, psylock for example can dash out of the batons and you won't get the finish. 10 hours on Widow which isn't a ton I'll admit, but that hipfire is a more sure way to finish the kill. The other thing you can do to mitigate this is wait to do the initial kick until you have re racked a bullet. That way one is in the chamber. But the baton method tends to work less often for me in game. Linked to this short is a full breakdown of Black widow where there's a clip of psylock dashing out of range with batons but I still close out with the hipfire! Hope this helps clarify why the hipfire is my preferred finisher.
@Takkio-0 I agree with both. Especially since Hawkeye has 1 shot potential. But especially with the right team synergies, you can make her crazy strong!
@@ZaCyclops i think her rifle dmg is fine honestly. i would rather like to see hawkeye being nerfed to not oneshot. also i would like them to remove to sticks and give her something which has actual impact. like throwknives or a pistol so she can defend herself a bit better against big bad ironfists and spider mans
@swordoflorn it's not a bad idea. To counter her just bait out her kicks up close. After she uses it, especially if she misses the kick she's basically cooked.
It is now confirmed she is the worst DPS in the game. All the guides dont mean anything until she gets buffed. Unless you like losing games in ranked I suppose.
@ZaCyclops you can always if you are better than your mmr or get carried. But then it's not about widow but yourself and you win easier and more with literally any other range DPS.
@YourTamedLion right but the point of the video isn't to say Black Widow is the best. It's to show people how to play her the most effective way. She's outclassed by basically everyone. But if you enjoy playing her and learning her this video will help understand her kit and the best way to utilize it.
@@ZaCyclops that's true. Sry for negativity against making guides despite her power lvl. Once she gets help there will no lack of Black Widow mains. It's the only scoped sniper for widowmaker mains to transition to. Have a good day 🎄
@YourTamedLion hey you too man and I didn't strike it as negativity. Everyone been getting me know she's not the strongest. I'm well aware but she's fun and I've figured her out quite a bit.

being smaller hitbox and all.
Lmao i guess technically. But if you test the hit reg in practice range it's the same as most brawl heros.
