I love the idea of undyne in the genocide route, a hero whom you strike down with a single blow and yet, they stand back up even stronger and ready to give the fight of the millennia.
I think she had some sort of armor suit made by Alphys that uses determination.

Fun fact: Undines or Ondines are soulless water fairies or nymphs that obtain a soul when they marry a human. Their children are born with souls but retain some of their fairy parent's magical properties of water. At least that is what I found out so far, would love to hear more if anyone know more of the watery fairies. If I am correct and Undertale follows this mythology, Undine might just be a descendent of a love child between a monster and a human. Provably sounding generic but wow thanks for the 5k+ likes

That actually is proven in the AFAC Undertale series, where Boss Monsters where made from the bond of a monster and human marriage.

Out of all the boss battles in Undertale, Undyne remained the only one who could take a Genocide fueled blow, and continue on fighting. She truly is the closest thing to a monster wielding true Determination, only succumbing to its effects and melting away like the Amalgamations after the fight is literally beaten out of her. And even then, she still went down as a True Hero...
I always saw battle against a true hero as the hopeless last fight at the end of the world, a fight that undyne could never win, no matter how hard she tried. In this cover i can really hear her throwing her all into it, everything she has got, and it not quite being enough. So good job, you took a great song and story moment and showed it from a different angle, absolutely perfect

Funny thing about the dialogue during the undying fight. Chara (in the text box) isn’t actively telling you to murder undyne. This only happens with fights against dreemurs and the undying fight specifically. Even The Demon Who Comes When You Call it’s Name respects the True Heroine.
Why would chara tell the player to kill their adoptive parents?

Even in other routes, you can tell Chara looks up to Undyne. Makes sense really. Knowing what both represented to the people of the underground in their respective times. Also, it's an interesting parallel with Flowey, whose favorite character is Papyrus, who one could argue is a lot like Asriel in many ways. Not to mention Sans's favorite person is also Papyrus, and Alphys's favorite is also Undyne. And both Sans and Flowey actively physically stalk you (but for different reasons), and Alphys and Chara both stalk you in non-physical, mostly inactive ways (also, for different reasons). Ok that last bit where I bring up Sans and Alphys and everything past that are probably me just looking too far into things, but still. It's neat regardless.

A perfect for a theme that gives your opponent a dying moment of awesome when you're playing the genocide route. While not as hard as the Sans fight, this is the fight which serves as your brick wall. She is that one boss, and it is awesome.
And this remix is an amazing tribute to her.
