If covering your wells gives you better safety and less water loss because of evaporation - do you need to put a concrete lid on them? I’m sure you could do a peaked cap with your eucalyptus and branches..
You could even grow climbing vegetables over such caps or screens.
    Just a thought.

From my observation, you need to plant enough for you AND the wild animals, unless you put good fences around your veggies and plastic screens over your fruit trees. That didn't use to ba a problem before, because every family had their own abundant vegetable garden and fruit trees, enough for their family, to give away or barter and for the wild animals too

God willing, i'll get there while i've still got juice in me 🤲🏼. I'm just really proud of you to seize your dream in your prime. I've said all my city adult life that 9 to 5 work is overrated and sleep is underrated. It's taken decades and covid for others to realize what's truly important in life. Since you began and lived your adulthood until now in the UK, do you feel you're outlook is British as well as Lithuainian? You're very easy to connect with, even from California 😊.

The new mimosa growth would probably make very good fences for vegetable gardens and the chicken "quarters". Those thing branches plus wire make good fences. Usually another tree is used, but those look fine too, when ready to be cut in half. In German you call those "staketten" fences

Thanks for all your info! For about the invasive trees. I heard other ppl say that the do not make good fire wood. And there cause an extreme fire risk. So I would follow up the advise of the Australian viewers. You can replant native trees for shade and ambience. And you dont need to remove them all at once. See if you can find someone who will do a a part and then next year another part? You work so hard I cant imagine it's only be 2 months!! Be aware you need to slow down soon as summer starts. Take care ❤❤

@@portugalitis Maybe you can trade services with Luke of Luke and Sarah's Off Grid Life? He's really handy with felling trees. And they have scads of hectares I imagine they still could use help clearing? Or Luke might like the help of 2 more brawny hands?
You really are better off getting rid of your eucalyptus. Luke and Sarah have nearly eradicated all their pine bc of the threat of processionary caterpillars threat to their animals. Luke probably has tips re eucalyptus (like debarking immediately after felling, etc).

Don't worry about any ugly or surplus or not-to-your-taste produce you grow as maybe Cindy Vine might like to buy direct from you for her kune kune pigs? She buys produce and trimmings from supermarkets and outdoor markets for the pigs, but maybe she'd buy produce you can't use directly from you?
Your trip to her place would be worthwhile if she took you on for strimming fields and also maybe collecting & processing felled trees & branches around her farm.

Sometimes she doesn't have volunteers or paid help available. Sometimes she's waiting long months for her paycheck 😊. Maybe you might check now or seasonally. Like, she hasn't had help olive picking.

Vou continuar a ver o vosso canal pois adoro. Muito obrigado e volte sempre ❤❤

Do think seriously of making a bushcraft roof or put a huge tarp over your caravan before July, or you'll be "baking" in there, unless your solar panels are enough to run a small air-conditioner or at least a DIY swamp-cooler

Please try to feed your kittens on unprocessed meat. Chicken wings, legs etc. I don’t know prices in Portugal, but maybe rabbit is affordable too.
Processed food is good for emergency situations.
At 7 weeks it is early but definitely not way too early to have the kittens, my daughter has a baby ginger that she got at 5 days ,eyes just opening. It is 8 weeks old now, eating raw meat and is ready to go to its forever home. Below 6 weeks, if they come from their mother, it is a bit early but abandoned, kittens can be raised to be healthy cats.(my husband and I had a Veterinary hospital for 40 years)
You answered my question beautifully.. thank you❤️
It was very interesting to hear about your former lives.
    Cheers from Australia ❤️🇦🇺

hi... I watched all your videos, well almost done. I have a question. I am planning on buying a property in Portugal. Small Bldg with small land not much. I wanna have chickens like you and maybe pigs. My question is , I retire in 8 yrs, meaning I can't move there yet, so , can I buy a property and just move there when I retire?... I just wanna buy something to have and slowly either repair or maintain slowly... thanks in advance.

Yes, absolutely I would do that, prices are on the rise big time! And you will have a place were to spend your holidays, also as you said, slowly slowly could repair it and have it ready to move in when you are ready to make a move! Good luck with your search! 👍
