If the expression is not working, make sure you match the names it's trying to link to perfectly. For example: My value + (comp("music") wasn't working because the way I named my music comp wasn't music, it was MUSIC. Capital letters matter too, just simply change the name of either the comp or the value so both match. Wonderful tutorial by the way, thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I only just got After Effects, after using Sony Vegas for years. You can't do this kind of stuff in SV and I was kinda lost on how it's done in AE. *Every other tutorial* was just a low quality commentary, text-to-speech commentary, way too long or just had annoying royalty free music with no commentary. Great tutorial - used it successfully for 2 videos. I went through ALL the comments and a recurring question is: "how to use this as a template and change the music without having to start a new project each time from scratch?" When I update the music and background picture, the logo animation is still based on the first project not the new music...is there a way to update the animation so that it fits a new music file each time?
to the people who have a problem with the last effect i mean the pumping effect i find a solution all you need to do is to Exacly name your main comp (the comp that you have done all the work in) to Audio Amplitude and the other one to Music and the problem well solve i hope i was able to help! awesome tutorial btw

Whenever I add the Expression to the Magnification, it doesn't give any effect. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I'm not getting any errors in the program, it's just simply not applying a "bumping" effect.

Is there a way to make the logo only move for low frequencies and not a large range of them, or is that dependent on the audio spectrum start-and-end frequency? I've used this: value + (comp("Music").layer("Audio Amplitude").effect("Both Channels")("Slider"))/ 6 and know that last number has to do with the magnification, but without that whole thing, the logo itself doesn't move. I'm actually pissed. I did exactly what you did in the video, took me like 11 hours to render a 4-minute video, turns out to be only showing the beats, not the actual song. :(
if it's only the vid and not the audio then put the beat video as well as the audio in premiere and then export that as the final, so you can overlay the audio onto the video manually
iVyperion ae always have big files. to set it to h.264 go to file > export > add to render que then click on lossless > format options and change animation to h.264

right click on the music file then, replace content and find the music you want to use! :)

its rendering playback - your computer and audio cant keep up. Render a preview, or render it out to have it play properly.
How?
There's a check box that says "cache before playback" check that box, hit play and get ready to wait

did you make a new composition named music? if not, do so or you can change 'music' in the description to what ever composition your music is in
check the name of the composition Music or music.
Another common mistake is "value" the word is lowercase.

I'm actually pissed. I did exactly what you did in the video, took me like 11 hours to render a 4-minute video, turns out to be only showing the beats, not the actual song. :(

if it's only the vid and not the audio then put the beat video as well as the audio in premiere and then export that as the final, so you can overlay the audio onto the video manually

Yes its Possible. Create a square shape instead of round. and Change some settings in Audio Spectrum

iVyperion ae always have big files. to set it to h.264 go to file > export > add to render que then click on lossless > format options and change animation to h.264
iVyperion make sure the project is not on avi but on quicktime
