Does your OCD make you wonder, do I have OCD (and what are the signs of OCD anyway?!)

  • OCD loves to make people doubt. It loves to make people doubt so much that it can even make them doubt they have OCD. Even when they have been diagnosed. Even when they have been successful in treatment. It makes them ask, "what are the signs of OCD and do I really have them?"
Often this doubt comes when OCD is desperate, when the person has made some great progress. It whispers to them:
    Maybe you don’t have OCD.
    Maybe they’re all wrong.
Maybe you are just disturbed, bad or sick.
Maybe these are YOUR thoughts, not OCD thoughts.
This type of intrusive thought can derail success if not called out for what it is - another OCD lie.
In this week’s youtube video I talk about how OCD will use this tactic to turn all your progress upside down, and what you can do about it.

Wow, this is spot on!!! Thank you SOOO much for this video!!! I’m making progress from anxiety and intrusive thoughts & recently I started getting caught in the same cycle & started to debate with my thoughts again. I was almost convinced that my diagnosis didn’t even exist, but now that I know this is another trap, I’m going to fight harder! Please make more videos related to this! It’s really helping!

Thank you!! Since I was trying to stop doing compulsions and making progress, my mind was like how is it so easy for you to make progress? Maybe it's not really ocd!

Thanks for sharing us this Important lesson and remember ocd is triggered by something you gave value to so always remember that it is not you it is just your ocd trying to convince to that it is you so for all my people who suffer from ocd I hope y'all doing well 😊😊😊

Thanks for this video. I just got my suspected diagnosis 2 days ago, and the past 48 hours have been EXACTLY what you discussed. I have to know if it's true. And I know that's not helpful...

Hey honest question I’ve always been taught that the therapy for OCD is to accept it may not be OCD that all the terrible things might happen then sit with it that’s ERP in its finest form I know for me when I try to reassure myself it’s the OCD I get worse. I guess different things work for different people

Great video...can I offer a thumbnail suggestion?...I think I may miss some of your videos that do not contain your image....I wonder if including your image in the corner of the video thumbnail would bring more views. Thanks for all your content! - fellow UA-camr, Mike

Thank you for these videos. They help us to understand what my brother is going through with his anxiety and OCD...i was wondering if u made or r going to make any videos directed towards siblings of an OCD child? I am an adult but my youngest brother who is 14 is going through OCD and sometimes its hard to be patient and to know what to say because he gets upset when u say things to him that shouldn't make him upset but we know its because of the ocd but we would like to know how siblings can be more helpful. Do u have any advice?

    I have a question
so I have intrusive thoughts that are very disturbing to me and recently I have stopped getting the anxiety that come with the thoughts I’m just like ew and then my mind is like why aren’t you freaking out and then my mind is like why aren’t you freaking about not freaking out and the this whole cycle is this part of OCD because what if this thoughts are real but I know I would never do them but I’m not freaking out so do I have OCD or are these my real thoughts I’m scared please answer
    2. I have these disturbing thoughts and sometimes I want them to happen so I can figure out whether these thoughts are real or not or in my head I’m like ewww why would you think like that eww and my head is like but what if you actually like it? is that OCD or not are these my real thoughts or not

I can not go to a therapist bcz my parents won't understand the issue so how do I know whether it's ocd or not🙂 but I can relate to the symptoms of intrusive thougts ( sexual &harmful ones)
That so true when u said OCD does this when u make progress bcz for few days I was able to avoid my thoughts saying that nvm it is an intrusive thougts
But the whole LOA thing mixed with my OCD and when I found that you can not manifest thoughts then my OCD started to make scenarios that you can not manifest thoughts but u can manifest intentionally what if you thought that with intention
