Really do appreciate your help. Retired army. I relalize my macros are really wrong. I have been eating high protein very low carbs and hit a serious wall where I am feeling really drained. Not recovering from workouts. I am hoping this carb trick will get me back on track. Thanks again.

Started the carb cycling the same time I started the Fit after 50 program. Only 1 week in and lost 3 lbs. This definitely works. I have also been doing the 16 hour fast daily.

Great info Mark...thanks! I'm 60 & workout 7 days a week with 4 weight days & 3 pure cardio days (spin biking & jogging). I'm in great shape but being short & stocky (former bodybuilder in my younger days) I'm carrying too much body fat that I just can't seem to lose. I eat a healthy 100% whole foods diet but carbs stay consistent & on the high side throughout the workout week. This makes sense to go low or medium carbs on weight days & higher carbs on cardio days. So, armed with this knowledge now, I'm going to give it a try.

Along the same lines will it be more effective in the long run to cycle protein (no to low to normal to high, repeat) vs constant ratio especially past 50 ?

Hi, 51 year old man and I have been doing a couple of 24 hour fasts, a 48 hour one and a 72 hour one over the last 4 weeks. I have been watching what I eat on the other days in the week a little bit. My schedule would afford me to do a 48 hour fast a week and I wanted to know what you think of that as a weight loss technique?

Why track anything then. I think this is the way most of our lives go naturally. This advice tells me just continue to avoid carbs, focus on protein and do the same workouts you was doing in your 40s, and whatever do, stop telling yourself you're 50 and live. Eat. Exercise. Work. In no particular order.

I have a more unique problem that maybe some of you guys might be experiencing. Because of Agent Orange in Vietnam I now have prostate cancer. To help battle this cancer I am on a chemical called Eligard. I get it injected every 6 months. Eligard is designed to eat the male hormones which starves my prostate cancer. My testosterone level is very low. Any feedback would be great. I'm looking for tips to help boost my testosterone through diet. Thanks

It's confusing, what are considered workouts, Can be strength or cardio, what if i do 3 days strength & 3 days cardio and walk everyday, so that means I'm moderate carb and never will be able to cycle? Doesn't make sense

Mix it up...try salad or grilled veggies few 3-4 days, a couple normal days with some carbs, and then a high carb "cheat day".

Too much work guys. Don't intermittent fast, eat 3 or 4 times a day. Protein, starchy carbs and veggies. Don't pig out, cut out the junk food and exercise every day, even if 3 days a week it's just walking. Be consistent.

Better advice than this video. Calorie deficit is better than cutting carbs and doing a 16 hour fast. Which is very dangerous.

If you are and quite possibly you will be, on TRT, there is no way you can boost your test levels. So let me ask you seriously and let's hope you are honest. My question is regarding one very important ingredient...…Testosterone! Are you on TRT?
