Fanny was before their time.. They were the hardest rocking all female band back in the early 70s and they were compared to Deep Purple at that time because of their hard rocking music and musicianship. These ladies could rock hard!! Women musicians did not play like them back then... and its an injustice that Fanny never got their recognition that they deserved. They should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for being rock pioneers...
@@richwalter5322 Everyone (who has any sense of what it takes to put together a band) I turn on to Fanny immediately comments on how tight their sound is.
Thanks you all! And I wanna remind everyone that Jean is still recovering from a stroke, and still needs our help. Please go to www.gofundme.com/jean-millington-go and donate if you can; please spread the word! Thanks so much, and appreciate your comments. June
I'm 53 and was just a baby when you guys were out, but I'm just now discovering your sound....AMAZING!! Where have you guys been all my life?? If Elvis was King then you ladies are Queen of Rock and Roll for sure!!
This is my favorite new Band!!! Fanny is so darn tight!!!! My best guitarist friend and I are both floored by their performances on Beat-Club and beside ourselves at how we are just discovering their music now, 2020!! What an inspirational group of rocking Gals!!! Keep on rockin'.... stay safe, healthy and groovy!!
I don't know how I missed these ladies when I was growing up in the 60's and 70's. What a great band! Loving watching their vids on UA-cam. I guess hitting the big time is mostly luck, but this band was really good and deserved a place on the top. This vid shows me they are still better than 95% of what calls itself music today.
Hi! I wanted everyone to know that Jean is turning 70 tomorrow, May 25th, and working hard to get back to her bass ~ www.gofundme.com/jean-millington-go Thank you all who are pouring the love, notes, and donations her way towards the GO! stroke recovery fund. Incredible! I can tell you Jean's been blown away by all the love you all are showing, she didn't know she had so many friends and fans! When you write a note - that counts for a lot, too. Keep It coming Love! xx June
JEAN I WOULD love to see you back in good health and rocking again. Just discovered this band and haven't been able to stop listening. I would love to get people to petition for you gals to get into the Rock and Roll hall of fame. . .
@MOTORCYCLE GUITAR { WE CAN WORK IT OUT } Nicky moved to England and got into the business end of music She had sporadic groups along the way and put out an album in the 80s.
I'm 56 and for whatever reason I just discovered you guys as many of us have. Man you guys ROCK, It's been a real pleasure discovering your music. I am 44 and discovering Fanny few weeks ago. Love it!! I like the sound of 70is rock...Fanny is still on Top, i told my hole friends to listen to the music :). All the best from Austria!!! Keep rockin!!!
the wear on Jean's guitar's pick guard says it all...just discovered a week ago and fell in love...can't believe, over 50 yrs, I wasn't aware of these talented ladies..groundbreakers...
Quality, fun and rocking in the early 70s when i first discovered them and still the same wonderful energy and musicianship. Bless you girls with much love and respect!
I'm 74 yo. I was a groupie for an all female band called Lilith, back in the 1970s. They released one LP, Boston Ride, in 1978. They were also one of the groundbreaking all-women bands, who faced discrimination because of their gender identity. I didn't know about Fanny back then, but I'm glad I've discovered you now. Some of the finest music I've ever heard.
I'm sure you hear it all the time but...you are amazing!!!! Fanny was/is so fantastic!!!! Love the music!!! Thank you for doing what you do!!!! Being a musician and hardcore music fan I can only say you are an incredible inspiration!!!!! God bless you all!!!!
I just came across Fanny today on accident..watching a live session from 1972/73 forget which, wow it blew me away i grew up in the late 1970s and though i heard all the good bands from that era. Nope i missed out on these chicks. I'm going back to find everything i missed, The bands of today need to take a page from their book.......Jams!!!!!☮
PS. The lead guitar tones were just bad ass, I see a 335 Custom? & a LP special, But that guitar is throwing me off because of the crown inlay on the face of the headstock, Regardless What amp & pedals? im pretty sure im hearing a fuzz face, It was during this jam session ..ua-cam.com/video/Zcb1HpH42N8/v-deo.html
I just saw my first fanny video this year and was blown away and had o have more. If you guys ever are where I am I’m going. You guys are on my bucket list “see Fanny”. You guys are a treasure.
Discovered Fanny during lockdown March 2020. Here it is a year later. Everyone I turn someone on to Fanny from back in the day I get the same response..." why were they not HUGE?!" The 70s were a different age I guess. They got Shafted for sure though.
Miss Nicole Barclay. Very good singer and awesome organist/pianoplayer and keyboardist. This was a fantastic rockband. Playing the shit out of many male bands! Still have all their albums on old vinyl.
I stayed up late to catch the doc about Fanny on my pbs station. I can't believe I didn't know about them back in the day😟. When I was young, I wanted to be "white boy w/guitar" because I wanted to play rock music. Being a black girl raised by a widowed mother( she was a great mom though") that wasn't encouraged. I was supposed to get a "real job". I did have piano lessons ( to help keep me and twin out of trouble). Fanny was just what I wanted to be. Glad to find out about them now! Rock on!!
Fanny deserves a lot more recognition than they have received. Let's hear it for the FIRST all women rock band. Wish people recognized it wasn't the runaways.
God why does this make me so happy... these girls have a revolution in their hands and voices! I mean I'm a big fan of Heart and Janice... but let's be Frank for a second... those girls ai t got shit on Fanny... all girls actually playing leads and singing harmonies.. not just an acoustic player an singer or just a singer.... These girls HAVE to get their recognition.. I for one will be a HUGE fan boy now because they play my favorite kind of music and they actually are good!! Ypu know that old familiar Rock N Roll feeling you get when you hear something you know is killer and it just haunts you until you hear it again... yea these girls have that creativity....They need their credit... Black Oak Arkansas too

Wow you got Alice back? She's the literal coolest person. Cool for days. I really hope Fanny are about to have their recognition now. Super talented musicians. Also love you June. You have a great smile and personality. I wanna do an edit of your TV performance in Bremen and replace the blue screen with some psychedelic visuals for UA-cam :) Would that be okay? It's the best performance
The '72 live performance of Place in the Country blows me away whenever I listen/watch. How come I never heard of Fanny until 2019? Did parallel universes meld or something because it's baffling that I, and other old music lovers were totally unaware of your existence until recently? I'm being totally serious, there seems to be a supernatural glitch. Love you.

Totally in the same realm as Deep Purple, also Rainbow (Dio era) comes to mind when I listen to them sometimes. So damn good.

I would like to tautoko Fluky and June, please raise $5M not $50K, lets do it people!
They are great. But you can not compare them to Deep Purple. They are musicians at another musical level.
The fact that Fanny hasn't been inducted, let alone even nominated for the rock hof tells us what a joke the hall really is.
plus several more bands. It's bullshit.
Absolutely!
Nobody should care about that hall at all
Couldn't agree more William!!
It'a a hall of fame, not a hall of talent.
Still got it! One of my favorite 70s bands. Alice is such a great drummer, Jean a great bass player and June and amazing guitar player!
