So with all the milk spotting from the Royal Mint I am glad I didn’t collect the 2 oz silver series. I really do wish I would have collected the gold 1/4 oz versions. Those 10 oz are so nice. Thanks for sharing.
I couldn't afford collecting the gold coins of the QB series. I wish I could. I love 10 oz coins. You can see all the details much better on 10 oz coins. :) Thanks for watching my friend.
@@AustrianStacker I’ve been eyeballing the 1/4 set on eBay in a wooden display box. Just haven’t brought myself to buy.
I have just completed my QB 10oz collection (minus the Completer). I will be doing a video of them soon. The QB was an awesome series, but I agree the worry of milkspotting leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. My 2oz Completer was riddled with milkspots so I decided not to continue with that coin and the TB series. Cheers 👍🏻😊
I can't wait to watch your video. I started collecting the QB series relatively late. The 10 oz coins are very expemsive in the meanwhile. I am not sure if they are worth the premiums some sellers want to have.

The milk spots are killing me on this series. I'm switching to collecting the Tudor series in 1/4 ounce gold just like you. I'm pretty close to giving up collecting the Tudor in silver. Too bad because I do like the coins. The 10 ounce Tudors that you have are great!
I switch more and more from silver to gold. If silve then just cheap bullion or 10 oz bars. No semi-numismatics anymore. I never had issues with 10 oz coins. Maybe because they put it in capsules??? Have a great day.
Apparently the milk spotting process is not effected by whether the coin is exposed to the air or not. Unlike toning there's a different chemical process at work. I'd say with the ten ounce, they wash the detergent off better. Bigger coin, more prestige, maybe the size allows for more processing before stamping I don't know. I have seen videos with milk spotting on ten ouncers though. So it's not entirely immune. It is a good size however. And if worst comes to worse you can use an eraser judiciously, to remove milk spots. Better than leaving them at cull silver value if you want to keep them as a personal treasure.

I do not collect the 10 oz coins yet. I must agree with you they show off the details much better. I am currently working on a tube of Philharmonics. Then moving on to 1/25 oz gold
Filling up a tube of Philharmonics was my first ever stacking challenge. :) So you also prefer fractional gold coins? Awesome. I often feel like I would be the only one who has to care about a budget and buy smaller coins. :) Thanks for watching.
I really think that the Queen's Beast series was incredible, but I missed it. I am mostly keeping up with the Tudor Beasts. The 10 oz coins are incredible, but I need to get the Unicorn and a couple of Dragons.
I built a house when the QB series started and couldn’t afford buying the gold coins back then. I am not sure if I will continue collecting the Tudor Beasts series. The first few coins are still available and not sold out. 🤷🏻♂️
I love Austria, I want to go back. It's been 20 years or so, I've been there a few times. I love the people and the food, really more the food, I guess. Really, everything was great.

I agree but the quality was 👎 All coins dated 2019 or later are full of milk spots.
Glad some of your QB coins are still looking nice but it's a pity about the spots on the others. I love the series and excited to collect the TB coins too. I'm sticking with gold really although I have picked up the 2 Oz silvers so far 😁 I just don't want to risk any volume of premium silver 😬

It does suck about the milk spots for the Queen's Beast 2 oz. Coins. But, I prefer those if you can find them without spots. Love the 10 oz Completer coin. Would love to pick that one up.
I love the QB series but the quality of the 2 oz coins is poor. It's a shame that the Royal Mint destroys some of the best coin designs with such a poor quality. I love the 10 oz completer coin. You can see all the details much better on 10 oz coins.
The 10 oz completer is awesome! I like the 10 oz queen's beasts too and prefer it to the 2 oz version. I am personally not collecting the Tudor beasts, but it does look like a good series, especially with the change in monarchy. It will be a unique set in the future.
I also see some potential in that series. I had a look at the 2016 Lion of England coins offered on ebay. CRAZY!!!!! I wish I would have bought more of them in 2016. :)
I don't know why everybody is angry about the milk spots. Thats a natural proceds which happens with silver. After a long time, these milk spots will give the silver coins a special character.
It’s natural but an indicator for poor quality. I don’t care about milk spots on my bullion but it’s a shame if high premium coins are delivered in such a poor quality. Imho
AFAIK Royal Mint is infamous for milk spots and poor quality billions. E.g. Perth Mint doesn't have such problems.
milk spots are not natural. it’s caused by sloppy manufacturing processes. it’s detergent that wasn’t rinsed all the off before the annealing process. totally preventable if they had more stringent procedures. the rcm has really got a handle on it now. used to they were one of the worst. now they are the best
I only have one of the 2oz completer coin of the Queen's Beasts and that's it.

I'm not sure why all Mints don't use the mint shield technology that the RCM started implementing in 2018 ??????
The mint shield technology is not needed at all. The mints just need to care about quality again imho. This started during the first lockdown when the demand went up and they just cared about production anymore. I have 8 tubes of pre-2019 Philharmonics. No milk spots. 2019-2022 every single coin milk spotted. That's crazy.

@@AustrianStacker yes they are a great size to see detail but the coins value of the 10 oz is much less unfortunately £25 for 5 of 2 oz coins but £10 for the 10 oz coins but I still will collect the 10 oz.
I'm betting on the 1 OZ proofs. So far no issues but let's see what happens in the future!

I say collect neithier. Collect the Perth mint lunar series. Better quality and they will develop a collectors premium over time.

Hi Austrian Stacker, I was an avid collector of the Queen's Beasts, getting 3 of each of the 2oz coins and 2 of each of the 10oz coins, with the exception of the 10oz completer. But I did get the 1oz gold completer. My interest lately is to acquire gold, so I have passed up on the Tudor Beasts.
I wish the actual coins looked as good as those stock photos.
While the 10oz coins were mostly perfect, it was difficult to find 2oz'ers without some flaws, especially on the Queen's cheek. I had only one with milk spots.
The RCM 10oz coins were also quite perfect, while the 1 and 2oz coins had the same problems on the obverse, though now spot free.
I also changed my strategy during the pandemic. I bought far more silver than gold in the past, now I am buying mainly gold. I haven't read any comments from you for quite some time. I hope you are doing well. Have a great weekend.

I got rid of all my QB because of the milk spotting.. I have not start the Tudor beast yet...
That's why bought the 1/4 oz gold coins instead of a tube of 2 oz silver coins. It's a shame that the Royal Mint is not able to solve their quality issues.
The gold was better, silver does have its quality issues.
It's a shame. The Royal Mint has some of the best coins designs and they are messing it up with poor quality.

10 oz coins are perfect. You can see all the details much better on bigger coins. :) I love both series but the milk spots are a nighmare. High premium coins with such a poor quality.
To me it just seems like the Tudor Beast is a copy of the QB. They should have waited a few years before starting the series
I missed out on the QB gold coins. That’s the only reason why I am collecting the RTB series.
