Locals in Cootehill expecting White Horse Hotel to accommodate refugees

Local communities’ response to the arrival of refugees and asylum seekers has been mixed. On the one hand, certain residents in towns and villages have gone out of their way to welcome newcomers, particularly children arriving in schools.
On the other, there has been a growing number of protests against accommodation centres warning of a threat to safety by “unvetted single males”. This theme can also be found online among far-right figures and accounts.
