- We headed out for a quick 4wd trip to unwind with a chance of some fishing action in the morning. No one knew what was coming that morning which will go down as one of the most memorable fishing trips ever! Great fish congratulations, but the way that fish was handled I pretty much doubt he survived..

But I'd have to agree with this comment, don't think that survived
It is good practice to keep big fish (particularly mulloway) in the shallows while removing the hooks if you intend on releasing them. The bigger mulloway tend to die quite easily if not handled carefully. Run for a kilometer and when you done try holding your breathe, that will give you an idea of what it feels like for the fish laying on dry sand for an extended period of time. I hope my comment will be viewed as constructive criticism with no malice intended. Beautiful fish none the less 👌🏽

Drone fishing was banned a few months ago by us in South Africa because anti drone anglers went to go complain by the Department of Forestry, Fishing and Environment. Their main reason for banning drone fishing was that drone anglers have an advantage over anglers using manual methods. However drone anglers feel they are at a disadvantage over charter boat anglers. Drone anglers need a very good lawyer to take it up with the South African government
Yes they said that drone fisherman were getting access to reserved areas while drone fishing also
DAFF should go catch the perlie and crayfish poachers instead..drone fishing should be allowed..

That’s deadset some of the coolest footage I’ve seen during the day, in flat calm conditions. Good on ya for releasing it, being quicker would’ve been ideal, but you’s supported its weight well. Has a better chance of living being released then chucked in the esky anyways.

Nice fish bro , but really that fish most probably didn't survive. Hectic fight no revival, the sharks prey on those big boys when they so tired so they probably got chowed.
Rather keep the fish.

yeah he didnt release it brilliantly but 100% fish swam away we saw it clearly mate.

But the fish died way before you put him back infortunatly. Also you need to reoxygen any fish for catch/ realise.
the fish did not die, we saw him swim away.
Dunno what your on man, but fish can breath oxygen whilst there gills are wet, even out of water for a short period of time. They did fine for having limited experience and supported the fishes weight well. It would’ve been fine.
