Hey, this tutorial and the free template really helped me out! My dad needed 6 little hats done for his job, all in different colors, and he asked me to make them out of foam. Your template was quite great, not gonna lie! Thanks a lot!
Hey! I am planning on making a plague doctor costume for the apocries that my school will host and I'm so thankfull that I stumbled upon this video! It helped a lot!
Loved the idea of this build from the thumbnails across social media. Finally got to watching it and really enjoyed the build too. Didn't know you double glued, or that you seem to use super glue more than contact cement. Nice use of varying foam thicknesses too. Definitely using these templates to redo my own SUPER HEAVY cardboard one I did a few years ago! Cheers
Another awesome build, but to me the best part is the painting. I have a lot to learn on the several layers, combining colours to give a highlight, but most importantly, that just a little bit in certain areas is better than a complete overhaul of a single colour.
It's so awesome dude! Congrats! Would be awesome than if you continue with Halloween, make some crafts of Scooby-Doo! Maybe masks of villains😝🙌Big hug from Spain, I love your channel !
@@SKSPropswow, quick response!!! Thanks. I’m guessing it’s some trial and error, but once I get the flare correct, a little heat can make it bend for the right effect?
Question? If u use white plasti dip the whole thing could you use alcohol inks on it to do a rub out with rubbing alcohol ? Im new to foam smithing. I usually do latex masks.
I’ve found white plasti dip to never work right it’s always got problems…black is best. But I’d love to hear about latex applications or alcohol inks to this process
Wonderful instructions! I just found your site and have subscribed. I want to make a top hat similar to the one Depp wore in Alice and Wonderland, which means the top needs to be flared. Can you give me a suggestion on how to do this?
I appreciate it! 👍 you can always help me out by sharing my channel with friends or if you can there is a donation page on my website both help me keep this going 🙌
I love this an want to make it. However i dont have a printer, if i take it to staples what do i tell them ? How to print it so the dimensions are right ?
Follow the directions on my site and open the pdf in adobe acrobat or adobe reader and click poster in the page size area that scales it properly over several sheets regardless of your paper size
really love yalls videos!! I was wondering if it's possible to make Tira's Ring Blade from Soul Calibur. I'm trying to get a costume ready for halloween! :D
I will try to make a liver hat out of Foam (it's a present for someone who finished her PhD on livers) and I was wondering if you can use a hair dryer instead of a heat gun?
I lay mine flat with several sheets on top of each other. Usually a couple of 10mm on top. If you want to be faster you can add a little heat with your heat gun and roll it the opposite way that will reset the foam to its normal state of wanting to be flat
Love this hat! You are super talented and creative! Can you tell me how I can print the pattern? I found the pattern but not sure how to scale it to a regular printer…or would I need to take it to a print place? Any advice from you or the community would be awesome! Thanks 😀
Thanks! Just follow the directions on my website and open the PDF templates in adobe acrobat or adobe reader and click poster in the page size area that scales it properly over several sheets regardless of your paper size

Hey Steve, thanks so much for all of your videos! They are very helpful. If you don't mind answering 2 questions, I would appreciate it immensely! 1. What RPM/speed do you use on your dremel typically? 2. Does using Plasti-Dip get good coverage on builds with lots of folds like that ribbon or does it leave gaps?
First off thanks! I set my Dremel or Foredom to the highest speed it can go I want to say 35000. I do several light coats of plasti vs 1 or two heavy coats that makes sure that it has even coverage and won't run which can happen if added to thick
Lovely job!! I have a question: if I were to print the template as a whole piece, do you know what size the paper should be?? I'm terrible at cutting and so I was hoping I could do as little of it as possible 😅😅 hope you can help me out 😅

No, I understand that. I did that already. However I think I made a mistake while pasting the sheets to make part A and C… I was hoping to print it as a single big thing to avoid making mistakes by not having to cut or paste anything… But thanks anyway!

As always, sir, your paint work is exemplary. Thanks so much for the template; I plan on putting it to good use!

If you’re covering it with fabric maybe. Worse case you could add a metal wire around the brim to help it keep shape
