I wish Marilyn kept more in touch with Jane Russell. She seems like a reasonable woman who cared for Marilyn and could have been a good stablizing influence on Marilyn.
headphonic8 Totally false, IDK why you decided to make up such trite bs. They got on very well. Jane even got her to come along to one of her Christian meetings, tho Marilyn decided they weren’t right for her. There’s a diva on diva UA-cam series that has many of M’s female colleagues, and they all describe her as sweet
@@headphonic8 no she didn't. contrary to popular belief she was socially awkward. Jane Russell says that she didn't really know how to deal with other people and have normal relationships. Jane grew up with 4 big brothers and so they were always giving her a hard time (kidding & gave her crap) but if someone did that to Marilyn she didn't know how to react. So if someone made a smart remark Jane would just say Oh yeah right or quit be such a jerk or she would slug them in the arm but Marilyn would be so offended and just hurt beyond belief and run off to the dressing room or her trailer in tears.
I love this. I read that Jane used to go & get her to come out from her trailer with a cheery, kind word when she was too paralysed with nerves to come on set alone. Such a kind thing to do.
She said in an interview she would pop her head in her trailer and say " alright cmon Blondie" a simple sentence but calming at the same time like if Jane gave her the impression that she was calm it would calm marylin too 🥰
@@iloveglitter149 Yes. Marilyn would be in her trailer or dressing room and just be all up in her head like what if I miss a line or what happens if i mess up a dance step and so she would be late to film because she didn't want to come out of her room out of fear but Jane would just go right in and say come on Blondie it's time to go and Marilyn would snap out of it and be like oh is it that time already ok then and be just fine
@@iloveglitter149 yes, Jane was so thoughtful with Marilyn, so supportive. Understanding is part of all relationships, man, woman, ANY relationship, Period.
Besides the obvious chemistry and affection between these two women - no one ever mentions how well they sing. And how well the voices blend. Russell always had her family around her and Monroe had no one. Russell used to send her hunky brother to fetch Marilyn when she was late. He would knock on the door and say to Marilyn “Come on Marilyn. Knock it off ”. Marilyn never failed to appear instantly.
We need entertainment with this degree of quality and class. I think Marilyn Monroe was at her most beautiful in this film. She had a glow about her. Her figure was also perfection, she looked good heavier too but here she seems fit and well.
also its crazy to think that when she looked 'heavier' in the other films, she was actually pregnant!! to even think that she looked so good while even being pregnant is so crazy
She was extremely exhausted and very thin at the wrapping of the film. So much that her agent Charlie Feldman asked her studio to let her rest and recover for two whole weeks before her next film.
